Mr Williamson added that IECHYD DA then compounded when under his urgings in the final straight and he could offer no tangible explanation. Stewards withheld payment of dividends until they had the opportunity to view replays of the start to ascertain whether CRUSHER COLLINS had been afforded a fair start. After re-viewing the video coverage and speaking with driver R Swain, trainer L Bond and starter Mr B Ward it was established that a starters assistant had impeded the mare's progress just prior to the start being effected.
