PEGASUS KOMMANDER - placed in restricted room rounding the first bend. Held up final bend.
RED RIVER LOCHEE - shifted outwards in the home straight. Driver J McDermott was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
LIVE TO TELL - refused to leave the pre-race formation losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the mare.
VENETO - raced wide throughout.
GRIN FOR GOLD - fractious in the pre-race formation proving very difficult. Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the gelding. Trainer/driver D Paterson advised that the horse would return to the trials prior to resuming.
RUSSIAN EXPRESS - held up final bend.
KING CYRIL - no claims were lodged. Raced wide in the early stages and over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend. Driver G Bull was warned for the manner he drove rounding the first bend when crowding the racing room of PEGASUS KOMMANDER.
EJA PATRON - no claims were lodged. Held up final bend.

STILL EYRE - held up final bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room until late in the run home.
QUAESTOR - broke near the 150 metres.
CHASING GREAT - paced for a short distance in the early stages.
CRUSADER CONQUEROR - raced wide from the 900 metres.
CHIEF OF STAFF - hung inwards in the home straight and trotted roughly.
KEN'S DREAM - broke after 100 metres.
ZONED SCARLETT - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the middle stages of the run home.
WELL DEFINED - when spoken to regarding the improved performance, driver D Dunn advised the gelding had benefited from a change of gear and being drawn on the unruly.
WAIT FOR SUCCESS - raced wide in the early stages.

DOC SEELSTER - broke briefly in the early stages of the score up. Driver D Reardon admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip excessively inside the final 400 metres. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
PEMBROOK BLUE - raced roughly in the score up. Held up early stages of the home straight. Driver D Dunn was warned to exercise care when shifting ground near the 150 metres.
BALDOON - held up for clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
RICO GOLD - paced roughly shortly after the start. Paced roughly and had to be steadied near the 150 metres when placed in restricted room by PEMBROOK BLUE which shifted ground outwards.
MASTER MILANO - hung inwards and paced roughly near the 1500 metres. Broke near the 1400 metres losing considerable ground.

LEO'S GIFT - held up early stages of the home straight. Broke near the 150 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
MISSIE CASTLETON - held up early stages of the run home.
SHE AINT NO ANGEL - broke near the 250 metres. Driver B Williamson advised the mare had brushed a knee. A post-race veterinary examination showed no abnormalities.
WE'LL MEET AGAIN - over-raced middle stages.
RUTHLESS KAYLA - trotted roughly near the 1900 metres after being shifted inwards by SHE AINT NO ANGEL.
MY AMOUR - weakened final bend.

ARIZONA HIGHWAY - broke at the start. Broke again near the 300 metres.
RIGHTEOUS WINSOME - broke at the start losing all chance.

ARMA TWOSPOONS - hung inwards throughout. Raced wide from the 800 metres. Paced roughly near the 300 metres. Had to be steadied late in the run home when placed in restricted room between VICTOR TANGO and MCCAWSOME.
PINE CONE - held up in the early stages of the home straight.
VICTOR TANGO - hung inwards in the home straight.
MCCAWSOME - held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight. Driver R May advised he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners. Stewards questioned driver R May regarding the tactics he adopted near the 800 metres when electing not to shift ground outwards. Mr May explained he was reluctant to shift out given the distance from the finish and that the gelding had been racing well when driven with cover in recent starts.

ARTICULIGHT - paced roughly shortly after the start. Driver M Jones advised the gelding had hung outwards throughout.
PORT HANOVER - held up early and middle stages of the home straight.
OFFICIALDON - raced wide early stages. Shifted outwards in the home straight. Driver D Dunn was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
SCELTA UNO - raced wide early and middle stages. Held up early stages of the run home.
MIGHTY EMPIRE - held up throughout the home straight.
CHIEF KAPAI - driver S Ottley was examined by St John paramedics and cleared to drive after being struck by another horse in the birdcage.
BACK IN BLACK - raced wide early and middle stages. Hung inwards throughout the home straight.

KIWI HEIR - broke near the 1400 metres.
ONE OVER DA SKYE - attempted to buck and broke in the score up causing interference to RED HARBOUR with a false start being declared. Driver R May elected to remain in his barrier position for the re-start. A warning was placed on the filly's mobile barrier record. Mr May reported the filly's back leg had become entangled in the half hopples hind attachment strap.
QUEEN OF LOVE - broke shortly after the start.
MAJESTIC HURRICANE - broke shortly after the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Trotted roughly in the home straight.
SHOW GAIT - hung inwards final bend. Broke passing the 100 metres.
CASTLEREAGH - weakened over the concluding stages. When spoken to regarding the performance trainer/driver M Jones advised he was disappointed with the effort of the gelding. Stewards will follow up the recovery of CASTLEREAGH in the coming days.
HONEYS SON - broke shortly after the start.
SPRINGBANK LACHIE - raced wide in the middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend. Driver M Williamson advised he was disappointed with the effort however felt the horse would derive benefit from the run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MAJESTIC MAN - raced wide in the middle stages.
RED HARBOUR - checked in the score up resulting in a false start being declared. Back from its unruly position at the restart. Weakened final bend.
Trainer M Jones informed Stewards on 7 February that blood tests taken from CASTLEREAGH following its disappointing performance at Orari last week revealed no abnormalities with the gelding returning to workouts this weekend.

VYNDETTA - held up for clear racing room for the majority of the home straight.
ENGLISH ROSE - broke as the start was effected checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the mare.
SAMSKARA - when spoken to regarding the performance, driver B Orange advised he was slightly disappointed however the filly had been challenged for the lead in the middle stages with the effort taking its toll.
CALENDAR GIRLZ - raced wide early stages.
MISS YOU - checked and broke on the final bend near the 350 metres.
FOR THE CORZ - raced wide early stages. Over-raced middle stages.
HIGHLAND REIGN - driver S O'Reilly (assisted by Senior Horseman C Markham), admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly when shifting ground near the 350 metres checking MISS YOU which broke and shifted outwards hampering MAD LU LI. After submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Miss O'Reilly's Horsewoman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 6 February 2018 up to and including 17 February 2018 (3 days).
KIWI ON SHOW - raced wide early stages.
BIRD OF PARADISE - held up middle stages of the run home.
JACKALACK SUE - checked at the start. Raced wide early stages.
PATANJALI - checked at the start.
MAD LU LI - over-raced middle stages. Hampered near the 350 metres.

LUNDQVIST - broke after 200 metres. Lay outwards throughout the run home.

RUSTY I AM - broke at the start.
WHATABOYZ - held up rounding the final bend.
WANDERING STAR - slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
WOT UP - weakened final bend.
HIGHLAND STAR - broke near the 2000 metres. Over-raced middle stages. Shifted outwards in the home straight. Driver G Smith was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home. Authorisation of 1st placing being awarded was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages.
I'LDOITMYWAY - trotted roughly in the home straight.
WESTY BOYZ - over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend.
HOLLY TROUBLE - driver G O'Reilly advised he sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
