CHRISSIE JET - held up throughout the run home. Amateur Driver W Rich advised that he did not activate the sliding blinds.
R GEE THREE - three wide early before being improved to the lead at the 1300 metres.
THE C E O - tardy in the initial stages of the score up. Held up until inside the final 100 metres.

ZEN - broke after being checked off the back of BABYFACENELSON, which was laying in badly, approaching the 1400 metres and settled towards the rear. Paced roughly rounding the final bend.

THANKS SHANE - gave ground inside the 400 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
THE REV - broke near the 700 metres losing its chance.
DAUNTLESS - held up briefly by a tiring runner near the 400 metres.
MAJESTIC STRIDE - broke passing the 600 metres losing its chance.
SECRETOFTHESEA SMILE - broke at the start and trailed the field.
AWA CATHRINE - slow to begin.
ABOVE THE REST - broke after 200 metres and settled towards the rear. Broke again near the 1900 metres losing its chance.

MEERA - paced roughly approaching the 600 metres locking wheels with ROSA BELLE for several strides. Paced roughly again near the 300 metres.
RED RIVER DASH - broke shortly after the start checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the filly's mobile barrier manners. Raced three wide from the 1300 metres.
WICKLOW STAR - broke shortly after the start and galloped for a considerable distance settling at the rear. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners. Broke passing the 700 metres losing its chance. A warning was also placed on the mare's racing manners.
ROSA BELLE - checked when locking wheels with MEERA near the 600 metres losing several lengths.
CHA CHA B - lay in during the score up and was back from position at the start. Continued to lay in and shifted down inside the marker line early before continuing to race on one rein throughout giving M McKendry a difficult drive. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
TUIMANI - raced three wide from the 1200 metres. Broke near the 200 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
WESTERN ZEPHYR - raced three wide without cover from the 1200 metres.

AORAKI - held up rounding the final bend and the early stages of the run home.
MAKAREWA JAKE - over raced toward the rear of the field from inside the 1000 metres. Shifted out wide on the track to get clear racing room over the early stages of the run home.

MY CASH - weakened final turn. When questioned in regard to the manner he drove in the middle stages, Junior Driver R Argue explained that he had been able to hold the lead from ANNA BARCLAY comfortably without having to place his mare under any undue pressure and did not give consideration to handing up to that runner as he felt his mare may have become fierce racing in behind.
LYNTON CREEK - underwent a Veterinary examination prior to the event after having raced last night and was cleared to start. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
SOMEWHEREINBROOKLYN - raced three wide with cover throughout.
REGAL GRIN - lay in shortly after racing over the crossing near the 1500 metres checking an inside runner.
ANNA BARCLAY - raced without cover outside the leader throughout before weakening to finish in 12th place beaten 21 lengths. Junior Driver S Quill, assisted by S Phelan, was questioned regarding the tactics he adopted during the middle stages when racing a half length in advance of the leader MY CASH for some considerable distance. Mr Quill stated that he had been instructed by connections to go forward and either look to lead or race in the open given that the mare had performed well when driven in this manner at its previous start. Mr Quill further explained that he had been happy for the mare to race forward of the leader MY CASH as it had relaxed well and felt this was his best option rather than looking to unduly pressure the leader for the front. Mr Quill's comments were noted.
CARBONADO - held up early final turn by a weakening runner.
MANIHIKI PEARL - over raced middle stages.
BETTOR BUY A ROSE - checked and raced roughly for several strides near the 1500 metres.

The start was delayed when the 30 metre barrier broke.
CLASSIE AMERICAN - slow to begin.
COUNT LANDECK - broke at the start but soon settled. Held up early stages of the run home.
MAKERS MARK - held up briefly final turn.
STARS DELIGHT - underwent a Veterinary examination prior to the event after having raced last night and was cleared to start. Broke at the start and settled midfield. Held up briefly final turn.
BLACK CHEVRON - underwent a Veterinary examination prior to the event after having been late scratched at Cambridge on 05 January and was cleared to start.
MARSHAL STAR - was retired from the event racing through the front straight near the 1700 metres when the near side hopple loop dropped after the carrier came adrift. Trainer S Dickson was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix the gear so as not to come adrift.

POSITANO - raced roughly for several strides near the 800 metres when the pace on the marker line eased.
FOREVER PEARL - raced three wide early before being restrained to the rear.
BROOKIES PRINCE - raced four wide from the 700 metres.
HEZALUCKYGRINNER - checked and broke for several strides near the 800 metres when being restrained off the back of POSITANO, which paced roughly for several strides. Failed to get clear racing room throughout the run home.
SPARE CHANGE - Trainer R Villiger was issued with a Minor Infringement Notice and a $100 fine imposed for presenting the mare with sliding blinds which had not been notified. Driver Z Butcher advised that he did not activate the sliding blinds due to having the field covered.

IDEALISTIC - struck by a dislodged marker peg near the 300 metres.
LADY SANTANNA - held up throughout the run home when unable to secure clear running.
MCDAKNIFE - hung in and dislodged a marker peg near the 300 metres.
TENNYSON INLET - broke shortly after the start inconveniencing a trailing runner and settled at the rear. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners.
MAGICAL MISS - paced roughly near the 300 metres when stepping over a dislodged marker peg.
MCLEOD'S DAUGHTER - held up throughout the run home when unable to secure clear running. Driver S Lawson advised that he did not activate the sliding blinds or removable deafeners.
HOLD ALL BETS - inconvenienced shortly after the start.

TAHLIA FRANCO - Junior Driver L Whittaker advised that he had been unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the release cord becoming entangled. When questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer N Chilcott advised that notified gear changes had been made following the mare's first start from the stable at Thames on 13 January which had proved to be beneficial along with having trained on well in the interim.
MEGATRON - raced three wide early and middle stages.
ARTANNE - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners.
