When questioned in regard to the manner he drove in the middle stages, Junior Driver R Argue explained that he had been able to hold the lead from ANNA BARCLAY comfortably without having to place his mare under any undue pressure and did not give consideration to handing up to that runner as he felt his mare may have become fierce racing in behind. | |

Junior Driver S Quill, assisted by S Phelan, was questioned regarding the tactics he adopted during the middle stages when racing a half length in advance of the leader MY CASH for some considerable distance. Mr Quill stated that he had been instructed by connections to go forward and either look to lead or race in the open given that the mare had performed well when driven in this manner at its previous start. Mr Quill further explained that he had been happy for the mare to race forward of the leader MY CASH as it had relaxed well and felt this was his best option rather than looking to unduly pressure the leader for the front. Mr Quill's comments were noted. | |
