JAMIESON SHARD - paced roughly in the score up and was slow early.
ROYAL LINCOLN - approaching the 650 metres the off side sulky wheel was contacted with the tyre coming adrift resulting in the colt being retired from the event.
EMILY BLUNT - contacted the off side sulky wheel of ROYAL LINCOLN near the 650 metres. Junior Driver F Schumacher admitted a charge under 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident. After hearing submissions as to penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $250.

Trainers were instructed to fit mudguards to sulkies.
TRIPLE EIGHT - paced roughly when placed under pressure early in the run home.
AMERICAN BRAVE - when questioned prior to the meeting regarding tactics to be adopted, Trainer S Telfer advised that this gelding, which was having its first race for two months and went into the race with one trial run, would not be driven aggressively early and would look to take a trail.
DANCE TIME - weakened final stages.

The track was downgraded to Slushy.
PRIMUS INTER PARES - broke rounding the first bend. Weakened passing the 400 metres impeding a trailing runner.
JASPER SEVEN - broke rounding the first bend.
DANKE - impeded by a weakening runner passing the 400 metres.
ROYAL WILLIE - broke rounding the first bend.
REALMEIN - slow away from the 60 metre handicap mark. When questioned regarding the gelding's performance, Driver M Pemberton stated that with the solid early pace it had taken to the 1200 metres to catch the body of the field. He further explained that the gelding had then struggled to maintain contact when the tempo increased down the back straight the final time before finishing on over the final stages into 6th place beaten 14.3 lengths.

PHOEBE GEM - broke passing the 900 metres.
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI - broke rounding the first bend.
CYCLONE JOE PARKER - slow away. Broke with 1800 metres to run and was retired from the event.
THANKS SHANE - weakened inside the 600 metres.
BILLY AT SALSA - inconvenienced by a breaking runner passing the 900 metres. Trotted unevenly rounding the final bend.
 
Race 5PROMOTE YOUR YEARLING - SALES NIGHT 26th JAN MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
IDEALISTIC - held up throughout the run home until inside the final 50 metres.
R GEE BEE - locked stays with MAKERS MARK on the final turn. Held up passing the 250 metres and broke losing all chance. Driver J Abernethy advised that the gelding had cast a shoe at the 400 metres.
MAKERS MARK - Co-trainers A & L Neal were issued a $100 minor infringement notice for presenting the horse without the notified deafeners. Locked stays with R GEE BEE on the final turn.
 
Race 6GEORGIA BROOKE MEMORIAL MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
DIANNE LORENA - broke at the start and settled at the rear. A warning was placed on the filly's mobile barrier record.
IVANA FLYBYE - refused early in the score up to move off and was out of position at the start by 5 lengths. A warning was placed on the filly's mobile barrier record.
 
Race 7CAMBRIDGE RACEWAY FUNCTION CENTRE MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
CULLEN'S CAVIAR - paced roughly racing into the first bend shifting wider on the track. Gave ground inside the final 400 metres. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
SPIRIT OF ANZAC - briefly held up middle stages of the run home.
IDEAL STAR - placed in restricted room inside of CULLEN'S CAVIAR rounding the first bend and was checked for several strides. Paced roughly near the 250 metres and again during the run home.

WESTERN ZEPHYR - broke in the early stages of the score up and was out of position at dispatch. This filly was placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts.
