Pre-race blood testing was carried out. Trainers were advised to affix mudguards to their sulkies due to the inclement weather. Some leniency was extended in the distribution of penalties due to the extremely wet conditions and slushy nature of the track. |

GLENLEDI ANGEL - weakened over the final stages. Driver R May reported the horse had felt lethargic throughout but in his opinion had not been suited to the track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. | |
MAKE UP ARTIST - hung outwards in the early stages. Shifted inwards when placed under pressure over the final stages and made contact with track markers before breaking. Driver B Hutton was charged with and admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he had driven carelessly at this time. After considering penalty submissions his horseman's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 6 March 2018 (2 months), and in addition was fined the sum of $200 by the JCA. | |

GLEN TORRAN - trainer G Telfer was issued with a Minor Infringement Notice and fined the sum of $100 for failing to notify that this mare would be wearing blinds. Raced three wide through the early stages. Raced greenly throughout. Weakened from the 900 metres. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed an irregular heart beat. Trainer G Telfer advised it was his intention to retire the horse from his stable. Stood down from racing until such time that a Veterinary clearance can be provided with the mare then required to complete one satisfactory trial. | |
