| Pre-race blood testing was carried out. Trainers were advised to affix mudguards to their sulkies due to the inclement weather. Some leniency was extended in the distribution of penalties due to the extremely wet conditions and slushy nature of the track. |

When spoken to regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised that in her opinion the filly did not handle the track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery rate. | |

When spoken to regarding performance driver B Butt advised that the outside hopple shortener had failed to activate after becoming entangled and that the horse had not been suited to the track conditions however he was disappointed with the colt's effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. | |

| PAY ME VISA - when spoken to regarding the improved performance the connections advised that the gelding had appreciated a recent change in training regime coupled with an economical run throughout on a rain affected track that the gelding had thrived on. | |

| BANZIE - paced roughly over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. | |
| IGOTTASTAR - over-raced and raced wide in the early stages. Driver J Morrison was severely reprimanded for his inattention when allowing his mare to contact the back of the galloping QUEEN OF GLORY over the final stages. | |

| KING CYRIL - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having not competed in a race for a considerable time and was cleared to start. Raced keenly in the early stages. The near side number was displaced during the running. | |

| DE LANCOME - when spoken to regarding the improved performance, driver J Dunn advised that the horse had been badly checked at its last start and had appreciated a drop in class from recent racing. | |
| GLENLEDI ANGEL - weakened over the final stages. Driver R May reported the horse had felt lethargic throughout but in his opinion had not been suited to the track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. | |
| MAKE UP ARTIST - hung outwards in the early stages. Shifted inwards when placed under pressure over the final stages and made contact with track markers before breaking. Driver B Hutton was charged with and admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he had driven carelessly at this time. After considering penalty submissions his horseman's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 6 March 2018 (2 months), and in addition was fined the sum of $200 by the JCA. | |

| GLEN TORRAN - trainer G Telfer was issued with a Minor Infringement Notice and fined the sum of $100 for failing to notify that this mare would be wearing blinds. Raced three wide through the early stages. Raced greenly throughout. Weakened from the 900 metres. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed an irregular heart beat. Trainer G Telfer advised it was his intention to retire the horse from his stable. Stood down from racing until such time that a Veterinary clearance can be provided with the mare then required to complete one satisfactory trial. | |
