MAKE MY DAY - lay inwards rounding the final bend and on several occasions in the home straight when placed under pressure, brushing sulky stays with ED WOOD nearing the winning post.
PURE EMOTION - broke shortly after the start. Trotted roughly on several occasions during the running.
MUSCLE PAT - a post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off-hind leg, with a clearance required prior to racing next.
KIWI HEIR - stood on the mark as the start was effected and shortly after, locked wheels with another running losing its chance. A warning was placed against the filly's standing start record.
OUR GRACIE - shifted inwards abruptly and locked wheels with KIWI HEIR as the start was effected, resulting in driver M Williamson being dislodged from the sulky. Driver M Williamson was examined by the St John Ambulance Paramedics and cleared to fulfill his remaining driving engagements. Stewards withheld dividends until they were satisfied there had been no interference prior to the start. A final warning was placed against the filly's standing start record.
ED WOOD - brushed sulky stays with MAKE MY DAY nearing the winning post.
ASH - broke shortly after the start. Authorisation of third placing being awarded was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the gelding had not breached the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking shortly after the start.
DELMARA - trotted roughly on the first bend losing ground.
SPUR ME ON GENTLY - severely checked by KIWI HEIR and OUR GRACIE as the start was effected, losing its chance.

FUN SPONGE - made the final bend awkwardly. Shifted inwards under pressure in the home straight.
PACIFIC HILIGHT - forced wider on the track near the 1300 metres when racing to the outside of RIPSNORTER (R Rogers) which shifted outwards. Weakened from the 700 metres. Observed to have blood present in its nostril on return to the birdcage, with a post-race veterinary examination confirming the gelding to be a bleeder. Accordingly PACIFIC HILIGHT is stood down for the mandatory 90-day period and must supply a veterinary clearance and trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to resuming.
MAAHES - raced wide in the early stages until reaching a leading position near the 1400 metres.
RIPSNORTER - junior driver R Rogers (with the assistance of M Swain) admitted a breach of Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) when permitting his gelding to shift outwards which in turn forced PACIFIC HILIGHT to race wider on the track near the 1300 metres. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $150.
SHERWOOD ASHLYN - raced wide in the middle stages until reaching the parked position near the 1000 metres. Weakened from the 350 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
CARLO GAMBINO - hung inwards in the score-up and was back out of position on the Unruly position as the start was effected. Held up near the 100 metres having to shift outwards to obtain clear running.

LADY'S LASS - locked wheels with YANKEE MISS prior to the start, necessitating a false start be declared. Held up for a distance passing the 400 metres.
YANKEE MISS - locked wheels with LADY'S LASS prior to the start, necessitating a false start be declared. Broke at the start. Inconvenienced by a weakening runner near the 350 metres.
FRANCO REBEL - broke as the start was effected. Raced wide in the middle stages until reaching the parked position near the 800 metres. Weakened from the 300 metres, with a subsequent post-race veterinary examination revealing no obvious abnormalities.
DRIFTIN AWAY - shifted outwards and raced greenly when being restrained near the 1900 metres. Inconvenienced briefly near the 600 metres when trailing a weakening runner.
AKRIS - hung outwards throughout the event placing driver A Suddaby in considerable difficulty near the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer S Lock was advised the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing next.
BUSTER BROWN - lay inwards passing the 200 metres, becoming awkwardly positioned near the outside sulky wheel of another runner.
SCENTED POCKETS - over-raced through the middle stages.

FINE SOPHIE - late scratching at 12.35pm on veterinary advice after sustaining an injury en-route to the course.
LIS AMORE - held up rounding the final bend and throughout the home straight going to the line without being tested by its driver.
HURRANIA THREE - paced roughly rounding the final bend.
EXCELLENT - trainer/driver N Williamson reported that the had sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running which he attributed to his mare striking the sulky wheel. Stewards after re-viewing the video footage identified that the outside sulky stay had come adrift during the running which also may have caused the tyre to deflate. Stewards will follow up with the sulky manufacturer regarding this in the coming days.

PLAYBOY'S BROTHER - inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 500 metres. Lay outwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
RUTHLESS SUCCESS - underwent and passed a pre-race veterinary examination. Raced wide in the early stages. Driver L McKay reported that she had received a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
LANDORA'S LASSIE - raced wide from the 1200 metres.
ARMORI - held up for a distance passing the 400 metres when trailing a weakening runner. Held up again through the early stages of the home straight.
OVERCAST - weakened from the 500 metres. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no obvious abnormalities.
MONIBURNS - raced wide in the early stages before obtaining cover near the 2000 metres. A post-race endoscopic examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
JUSTAMOLLYARCHER - trotted roughly rounding the first bend when in restricted room. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
SUGAR CANE - raced wide in the early and middle stages until reaching the parked position near the 1500 metres. Trainer/driver D McCormick was issued a Minor Infringement Notice pursuant to Rule 867 and fined $100 when dropping his foot from the sulky footrest in the home straight.

HOT OFF THE PRESS - weakened on the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Munro advised that in his opinion the mare had not backed up after racing at the Omakau Harness Racing Club meeting on Tuesday.
PADDINGTON CENTRAL - weakened from the 600 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver D Keast could offer no tangible explanation only to advise that the gelding had been striking the sulky discs throughout the running.
AVEROSS FERRARI - paced roughly for a distance passing the 1100 metres. Held up when trailing a weakening runner passing the 400 metres and when being restrained, lay outwards locking wheels with the improving MANDOLIN.
MANDOLIN - locked wheels with AVEROSS FERRARI rounding the final bend and broke when being restrained, losing its chance.

GROOMSMAN - tangled away.
SWEET LORESS - over-raced in the middle stages.
VERA'S DELIGHT - steadied passing the 1800 metres when there was an easing of the pace on the marker line. Held up rounding the final bend, then had difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance passing the 100 metres.
FRANCO NIXON - broke shortly after the start.
ROCK N JOY - raced greenly passing the 1800 metres resulting in an easing of the pace. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver M Jones advised that in his opinion the filly had failed to handle the step up in class today.
ESSENCE OF EASTON - raced wide in the early stages.
SPORTSCASTER - reared as the start was effected before breaking shortly after, losing considerable ground.
HIGHVIEW JUSTICE - steadied passing the 1800 metres when there was an easing of the pace on the marker line.
HIT THE SKY - raced wide in the early stages.
IDEALISTIC LASS - steadied passing the 1800 metres when there was an easing of the pace on the marker line. Held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.

A false start was declared due to the 30 metre barrier strand not being released.
SUNDONS WISH - broke entering the first bend losing several lengths.
STYLISH DUKE - weakened on the final bend.
OTTAWA - held up briefly near the 400 metres when trailing a weakening runner.
MASS INVASION - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
GOLDEN GATE - held up rounding the final bend.
SMOKEY MAC - slow to begin.
GREY POWER - weakened on the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver N Williamson advised he was disappointed with the effort however could offer no tangible explanation. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a slow recovery rate.
ARRAN CHIEF - hung inwards rounding the final bend.

SAGWITCH - broke at the start.
OSSESSIONE - broke at the start.
AMERICAN SPIRIT - Held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight until near the 200 metres.
IT AIN'T THE MONEY - broke at the start. Improved wide through the middle stages before weakening from the 600 metres. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no obvious abnormalities.

MISS ETHEL SUNSHINE - paced roughly and broke during the score-up losing several lengths. A warning was placed against the filly's mobile barrier record. Raced wide from the 1000 metres.
MR HANDLEMAN - raced wide in the early stages before reaching the parked position near the 1500 metres.
ALEXY - held up briefly near the 250 metres.
NIGHTMARCH - paced roughly when being steadied near the 500 metres when attempting a run to the inside of ALEXY when there was insufficient room. Junior driver K McNaught was spoken to regarding the manner he drove at this stage of the race. Held up for a distance passing the 400 metres, only obtaining clear running when shifted outwards passing the 150 metres.
SENORITA MARGARITA - driver R McIlwrick reported that only one removable deafener applied to this mare had activated.
SMOOTH MARA - improved wide in the middle stages before reaching the parked position near the 950 metres. Driver D Dunn reported he did not activate the sliding blinds applied to this gelding due to having the field covered.

THABOYZ TOY - held up momentarily near the 250 metres.
LORRETTA FRANCO - broke briefly in the score-up however recovered to take up its allotted position at the dispatch. Inconvenienced when trailing a weakening runner near the 400 metres.
AVEROSS RUSTLER - raced wide in the early stages before reaching the parked position near the 1300 metres. Over-raced during the middle stages. Commenced to weaken near the 500 metres.
