RED RIVER LOCHEE - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Held up throughout the run home. Driver J McDermott advised that he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the gelding's sliding blinds. Driver J McDermott was questioned in regards to his tactics adopted over the concluding stages. Of particular concern was Mr McDermott's decision not to utilize the passing lane. Mr McDermott explained that in his opinion at the time he believed that there was insufficient room for him to improve inwards, but after viewing the available films, admitted he had erred in his actions. After considering Mr McDermott's explanation Stewards cautioned him for his lack of judgement. Underwent a post-race Veterinary examination which revealed no obvious abnormalities. | |
QUEEN OF GLORY - raced wide without cover in the early stages. Driver C Wigg advised that the removable gear on the mare had failed to activate due to the cord becoming entangled. | |
