Trainer R Low advised Stewards on 6 December that a veterinary examination of COMIN AT YA following its performance at Oamaru last weekend has revealed a serious tendon injury with the mare being sent for a lengthy spell in consequence.

Race 1	CHRISTCHURCH CASINO MOBILE TROT Video
Zdqm6TPkJG8 WHATASISTA - trotted roughly nearing the 1200 metres when being restrained to take a trail. Trotted roughly throughout the final straight.
SUGAR CANE - reluctant to move out of the pre-race circle and as a result was out of position at dispatch. A final warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. Raced wide through the early stages.
SUCH FUN - late scratching at 5.08pm by Stewards acting under Rule 213(1)(h) when this runner had by this time not been presented on course. Trainer S McRae, represented by Caretaker trainer C Thornley, was fined the sum of $400 by the JCA for failing to have this runner on course by the time prescribed in the programming conditions, (15)(a)(i).
MAJESTIC MOMENT - out of position at dispatch despite the efforts of driver S Ottley. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Trotted roughly near the 950 metres having to be restrained. Continued to trot roughly on the final bend. Held up in the early stages of the run home.
RUTHLESS SUCCESS - held up through the early and middle stages of the run home.

KI02qbOLRfw TRES VITE - held up throughout the run home. Driver M Jones advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
HONOUR THE BET - driver S Tomlinson was fined $200 by the JCA for not being available to take her drive and was replaced by J Dunn.
MACHSGAIN - held up throughout the run home. An enquiry was opened and adjourned into the manner in which driver C Ward drove when electing to maintain his position in the two wide line approaching the 500 metres as opposed to shifting three wide to improve his position.
DOUBLE O HEAVEN - over-raced middle stages.
MAXWELL MONTEZ - broke near the 1800 metres losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
DOWNTOWN TRAIN - lay inwards and made contact with the sulky of DOUBLE O HEAVEN when being shifted wider on the track near the 250 metres.

MAJOR HIPPIE - pre-race warmed. Broke at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Weakened over the concluding stages.
TERRIER - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. After settling this horse was observed to have its girth come loose with the gelding being restrained out of the race near the 2000 metres. An inspection of this gear showed it to be in near new condition and the RIU will address this with the manufacturer in the coming days.
FRANKIE JONES - lay inwards on the final bend.
FRANCO LAMAR - began awkwardly. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
VAN LADDIE - over-raced when being restrained to take a trail near the 1200 metres.
ELLMERS IMAGE - hampered in the early stages.
NIC MAC WILLY - broke at the start and lost its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.

Race 4	SOLID BUILDERS SCURRY HANDICAP TROT Video
dxHRWSlOrNs KOWHAI WHIZ - trotted roughly at various stages throughout the running. A post-race veterinary examination showed no obvious abnormalities.
BELLES SON - over-raced in the early stages. Hung inwards leaving the final bend and had to be steadied for a stride.

ILDIVO - checked near the 450 metres having to be steadied.
BURNING RUBBER - hung inwards on the first bend.
SANTANNA MACH - checked near the 450 metres having to be steadied. Held up leaving the final bend.
DANA DAWN - checked and taken wider near the 400 metres.
PADDINGTON CENTRAL - out of position at dispatch with driver D Keast issued with a warning. Checked and taken wider near the 400 metres.
BUSHIDO - out of position at dispatch despite the efforts of driver K Butt. Lay inwards on the bend near the 550 metres.
SAYING GRACE - raced wide in the early and middle stages before being taken forwards to race outside the leader near the 1250 metres. Broke when under pressure near the 500 metres hampering trailing runners and losing its chance. Stewards questioned drivers B Hope and C Jones (GUNPOWDER) regarding this incident and it was established that SAYING GRACE which had been racing greenly throughout, lay outwards which it had done on each of the bends simultaneously to the improving GUNPOWDER laying inwards. This resulted in the right hind leg of SAYING GRACE contacting the left sulky wheel of GUNPOWDER causing the break. Stewards were satisfied that no driver was culpable for this incident and took the matter no further other than to note the circumstances.
Stewards questioned driver B Hope regarding the tactics he adopted in the early stages when electing to take SAYING GRACE forward from barrier 16 causing it to race wide for a considerable distance. Mr Hope explained the gelding was lacking in race day experience and tonight was the first time it had sighted the mobile barrier. He added that the horse was prone to over-racing and proving difficult and so elected to allow the horse to improve in the early stages instead of trying to restrain which he felt would have caused the horse to race keenly. The comments of Mr Hope were noted.

Race 7	ANGUS CEILINGS LTD HANDICAP PACE Video

LOVETODREAM - the connections advised the mare would be racing in foal.
DON DOMINGO - when questioned regarding the improved performance of this gelding, co-trainer K Barron advised that extensive tests had been carried out since its last start, it had been treated for a minor ailment and had performed well at a recent workout.
