WANDERING STAR - attempted to improve three wide near the 1300 metres. Lost contact with the body of the field near the 900 metres and trailed the field. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no obvious abnormalities. Due to the horse's poor performance it was stood down to complete one satisfactory trial. Trainer/driver A Lowe advised he would be adding pads to the gelding's shoes. | |
COCKTAIL WAITER - crowded racing into the first bend. Trotted roughly in the home straight and was unable to be driven out to full advantage by driver B Williamson. | |

EASTON KARERE - broke shortly after the start. A warning was placed against the mobile barrier record of the filly. Driver M Anderson reported that he would be recommending that hopple shorteners be added to the filly's gear for its next start. | |
STAR RULER - broke in the early stages of the score up and shifted up the track. | |
FOR REGAL - slow in the early stages of the score up and was back several lengths at the start. | |
JEMIMA FRANCO - broke in the score up losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. | |

CARLO GAMBINO - slow in the early stages of the score up. Hung inwards in the latter stages of the score up and was back several lengths at the start. | |

DYING TO SEE YOU - broke at the start. Driver M Williamson reported that he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord breaking. | |

FUTURA EASTON - paced roughly near the 750 metres. Broke briefly near the 500 metres. | |
RIPSNORTER - checked and broke shortly after the start dislodging driver B Orange. Mr Orange was examined by St John paramedics and cleared to fulfil his remaining driving engagements. | |
EASTON FOXGLOVE - broke at the start and shifted inwards abruptly severely checking RIPSNORTER. Broke briefly near the 2200 metres. Weakened final bend. Placed on the Unruly for future standing start events and must complete one satisfactory trial from a stand prior to resuming. Trainer B Norman advised that he would be restricting the filly to mobile barrier events for its immediate future. | |
AKRIS - broke when improving to the lead after 100 metres. Broke near the 2300 metres and again near the 2100 metres. A warning was placed on its racing manners. Driver A Suddaby advised that he would be recommending blinds be added to its gear for future starts. | |

TROY CASTLETON - broke near the 950 metres after striking the sulky stay of HOLDON TOYASPURS (C Purvis) resulting in the trailing IMRAN KHAN and LARCH being checked. Driver S McNally defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in the he drove carelessly at this stage. After hearing evidence from Stewards, Miss Purvis and Mr McNally, the JCA dismissed the charge. | |
HEAVENLY LOVE - broke briefly near the 1700 metres. Broke again near the 400 metres. A warning was placed on the racing manners record of the gelding. | |

IMRAN KHAN - proved fractious prior to the start causing a delay. Checked near the 950 metres and when being restrained locked wheels with LARCH for a distance losing ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. | |
HIGHLAND STAR - broke when leading near the 400 metres. Driver R McIlwrick admitted a breach of Rule 870(1)(2)(a) in that he failed to immediately take the gelding clear of the field whilst in a break when the opportunity existed. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $225. Removed from the Unruly for future standing starts. | |
LARCH - reared prior to the start. Checked when locking sulky wheels with another runner near the 950 metres. Removed from the Unruly for future standing start events. | |

PASSION FLOWER - lay outwards marginally leaving the final bend and locked wheels with FOR THE CORZ which was hanging inwards losing all chance. Stewards spoke with driver B Munro regarding this incident. After considering his explanation, Stewards took the matter no further. | |
FOR THE CORZ - over raced in the middle stages. Hung inwards and paced roughly rounding the final bend locking wheels with PASSION FLOWER losing all chance. | |

OCH AYE THE NOO - swung sideways as the start was effected before rearing and falling to the track resulting in BREENYS CULLEN being hampered. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination which revealed mild abrasions to the left-fore elbow. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts and was stood down pending one satisfactory trial. | |
