| KOTARE CULLEN - hung badly racing into the first bend causing a check to COME DANCE WITH ME which broke for several strides. Paced roughly rounding the first bend with Driver J. Dunn easing the filly back through the field. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners record. Driver J. Dunn advised that the filly fought the boring pole and hung badly throughout the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. | |
| DELIGHT IN ME - paced roughly shortly after the start checking SOMETHINGABOUTMARY which broke losing its chance. A warning was placed on the filly's mobile barrier manners record. | |
| COME DANCE WITH ME - checked and galloped for several strides racing into the first bend losing several lengths. | |
| SOMETHINGABOUTMARY - checked shortly after the start galloping and losing considerable ground catching the field with 900 metres to run, impeded again by the weakening KOTARE CULLEN passing the 400 metres and ran on strongly to finish 7th. | |

| THE DEVILS OWN - Driver T. Williams advised that the colt had tended to run about when racing outside the leader and as a result raced wider on the track at various stages. | |
| IMAJOLLYWALLY - briefly lay in as IDEAL ROMAN was shifting ground outward to its inside early in the run home. Junior Driver A. Harrison, with the assistance of Senior Driver A. Donnelly, was spoken to advisedly in regard to her whip use. | |
| MONGOLIAN STORM - lay in during the score up and when racing to the lead into the first bend. Continued to lay in at various stages before weakening to finish at the rear. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. When questioned Driver J. Dickie stated that when asked for an effort the entire had failed to respond and that he was disappointed with the run. Stable representative S. McMullan advised that it was the connections' intention to have blood taken early next week and undertook to advise Stewards if anything was amiss. | |

An uncontested Protest was lodged against the 5th placing of MASTER MERLIN with the JCA disqualifying the gelding for galloping over the concluding stages of the race and being in breach of the Breaking Horses Regulation. | |
