Race 1 - PDL BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC AMATEUR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
Driver T Woodward (GUNPOWDER) admitted using his whip in an excessive manner over the final 400 metres with the JCA suspending his licence from the conclusion of racing on 3 December 2017 up to and including 3 February 2018 as well as imposing a fine of $100.

ALDEBARAN BONNY - broke nearing the 200 metres.
WESTAR MAGGIE - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
SKYLINE - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
RUE DAUNOU - weakened on the bend near the 400 metres.
STORM ALERT - broke passing the 1800 metres. Again broke near the 1000 metres.
GRAND PRINCESS - trotted roughly in the run home.
SHOW OF FAITH - held up in the early stages of the run home and was inclined to lay inwards throughout the run home.
SUNNY GLENIS - cleared from the unruly for future standing start events.
RAZOR - trotted roughly in the early stages. Broke near the 2000 metres. While in a break the half hopples broke resulting in the gelding being retired from the event.
ALWAYS AWAY - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.

ONE OFF - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
THE BOUNDER - broke shortly after the start losing its chance.
PINE CONE - when spoken to regarding the performance, trainer/driver K Cameron advised the gelding had to work hard through the early stages and when restraining to take a trail near the 1400 metres commenced to over-race and strike his sulky wheels with this taking its toll over the concluding stages.
FINE SOPHIE - broke at the start.
SPINATALE - struck pylons near the 1800 metres which were dislodged hampering a trailing runner,
AWAYTOCULLECT - hampered by a stray pylon near the 1800 metres. Held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
CHRISTIE MARIE - broke at the start.
DIE STANDING - fractious behind the barrier. Broke at the start.

SILENT SHADOW - inconvenienced at the 1700 metres.
AWAYOVERNIGHT - (R Payne) shifted up the track a considerable distance in the run home forcing SOUNDS BETTOR (L O'Reilly) wider. Mr Payne reported he lost his whip near the 1700 metres. A protest was lodged against 3rd place being awarded to this colt on the grounds of causing interference to SOUNDS BETTOR in the run home. After viewing all available films and hearing evidence from the Stewards and drivers R Payne and L O'Reilly, the JCA upheld the protest and relegated AWAYOVERNIGHT to 4th place. Subsequently Mr Payne defended a charge in that he failed to take sufficient action to maintain as straight a course as possible throughout the run home. After hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Payne the JCA found the charge proven and suspended Mr Payne's licence from the conclusion of racing on 10 December up to and including 22 December 2017 (3 days).
GRIN FOR GOLD - inconvenienced at the 1700 metres.
VIEWFIELD NAVAJO - inconvenienced at the 1700 metres.
SHOT IN THE DARK - broke on the bend near the 1750 metres checking several other runners. The connections were advised the mare is stood down until such time as it can complete a satisfactory trial. Trainer A Faulks advised he would be making gear alterations prior to resuming.
DOWNTOWN TRAIN - hung inwards when improving to the parked position nearing the 1600 metres. Driver D Dunn advised the gelding failed to quicken and hung inwards when asked putting this down to the grass track surface. Mr Dunn further advised that he would be recommending the gelding be restricted to all weather tracks in future.
JUST ONE GOOD ONE - inconvenienced at the 1700 metres.
MOTU BETTOR BE QUICK - inconvenienced at the 1700 metres.
SOUNDS BETTOR - forced up the track in the run home by AWAYOVERNIGHT. Promoted to 3rd place by the JCA.
JAFA KITTEN - broke at the start and lost its chance. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record.
KYLIE ANN - inconvenienced at the 1700 metres.
STUNIN TYPE - when spoken to regarding the performance driver B Orange was unable to offer any explanation other than to say he had been disappointed with its efforts. Trainer P Court advised it was his intention to have the horse gelded prior to resuming.

ADJUDICATOR - hung outwards through the middle stages causing driver M Williamson some difficulty. Not competitive over the final 700 metres when hanging sharply outwards with a warning placed on the gelding's performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed dental issues with it recommended the gelding be examined by an equine dentist prior to resuming.
DIAMOND EYRE - paced roughly shortly after entering the home straight.
GOVERNOR'S BAY - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
MAXWELL MONTEZ - broke after 200 metres losing ground and its forward position.
TRACKSAREFORTRAINS - tangled away.
AZZA - began awkwardly and was slow through the early stages. Raced roughly near the 1700 metres.

WHATABOYZ - broke passing the 200 metres.
TRICKY RASTUS - broke after 200 metres for a considerable distance losing its chance.
GLENIS MARIE - broke nearing the 1750 metres inconveniencing outside runners. Broke again near the 300 metres after being contacted by a dislodged track marker.
WANDERING STAR - tangled away.
JEAN SEBASTIEN - began awkwardly.
PRINCESS HARBOUR - inconvenienced at the 1750 metres.
BEYOND THE HORIZON - displayed poor barrier manners.
INSIGNIFICANT - displayed poor barrier manners and had to re-circle to take up its position. Broke at the start losing a considerable distance.
SHEZA TRENDY MONARCH - hung inwards rounding the final bend striking a track marker which was dislodged.
B D SON - broke shortly after the start before settling into a pace and having to be checked back into its correct gait by driver J Harrington. Broke again turning for home and trotted roughly thereafter.
SONEY BEATT - inconvenienced at the 1750 metres. When questioned regarding the gelding's performance, driver S Tomlinson explained he had been unsuited to racing without cover and in her opinion is best driven when able to obtain a sit.
FREE BIRD - broke at the 1750 metres.

BLACK ART - broke prior to the start checking trailing runner with a false start being declared. Driver A Fitzgerald elected to remain in his barrier position for the re-start. Mr Fitzgerald was advised his runner will now be drawn unruly for mobile starts.
JAY FM - raced keenly when leading.
SUMMER WEALTH - over-raced in the early and middle stages. Compounded inside the final 700 metres. Driver B Munro advised the horse had raced too keenly throughout.
ELITE EXCUSE - held up rounding the final bend and early stages of the run home.
SCOOB OPERATOR - broke near the 2000 metres after being awkwardly placed to the inside of DIAMOND LIFE and was retired from the event.
JJ'S DELIGHT - held up throughout the run home.

PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING - held up early stages of the run home.
FRANCO TEXAS - weakened on the final bend.
SEEL THE DEAL - when questioned regarding the gelding's performance, driver M Williamson explained the horse was striking the sulky wheels during the running and paced indifferently due to this and as a result he was unable to drive the horse out.
ALTA ORLANDO - inclined to lay inwards throughout the run home.

LOLITA FRANCO - weakened final bend.
GOING TO CALIFORNIA - the connections advised the mare had been served on 28 November 2017.
ART I AM - raced three wide in the early stages and paced indifferently throughout. Weakened considerably from the 500 metres. Driver J Cox advised the gelding had to work too hard through the early and middle stages and raced keenly in the middle stages with this taking its toll.
TRAILER PARK GIRL - raced wide without cover through the early stages.

ARRAN CHIEF - raced keenly in the middle stages. Driver A Faulks admitted using his whip in a striking motion on more than ten occasions inside the final 400 metres and was fined the sum of $200.00 by the JCA.
TORNADO VALLEY - Trainer T McMillan was charged a $25 colour fee.

MAJOR HIPPIE - pre-race warmed. Broke at the start. Over-raced in the middle stages.
TAKE AFTER ME - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home having to shift outwards to obtain clear running.
HESTIA FRANCO - broke near the 500 metres checking trailing runner with a warning placed on the mare's racing record.
GLENISTHEBETTOR - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Over-raced near the 1600 metres and had to be restrained out of the passing lane. Checked near the 500 metres losing its chance.
KARDESLER - the sulky seat on this horse slipped in the early stages with driver R Payne discarding it to the infield nearing the 1700 metres. Raced greenly and hung outwards near the 1600 metres.
FRANCO HAMPTON - raced wide in the early stages. Eased out of contention near the 800 metres. A post-race veterinary examination showed the gelding to have suffered an atrial fibrillation with the gelding stood down pending a vet clearance including an ECG report.
EARTHBOUND - blundered nearing the 1800 metres and was taken wider on the track as a result. Continued to race roughly throughout. Weakened leaving the back straight on the final occasion. Driver L O'Reilly advised that his gelding had slipped near the 1800 metres and it was his intention to make adjustments to its shoeing should the gelding race on a grass track surface in future.
GOODLOOKIN CHICK - broke briefly at the start. The near side number disc hung loose during the running.
PRECIOUS SARA - broke at the start. Given this runner's previous indiscretion behind the barrier the mare will now be drawn unruly for standing start events.
