Race 9 - ASHLEY MOBILE PACE
Driver T Chmiel (MAN OF STEEL) defended a charge in that he failed to take sufficient corrective action to ensure he did not lock wheels with TWITTER BROMAC (T Williams) in the run home. After viewing all available films and taking into account the evidence tendered by Mr Chmiel and the Stewards the JCA upheld the charge and imposed a fine of $350.00.

Race 1DAA - CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS MOBILE TROTVideo  Video 
RACHMANINOV - held up in the early stages of the run home.
WOOMAMASAMPSON - over-raced near the 1400 metres and shifted into the passing lane momentarily. Trotted roughly near the 900 metres and broke with 850 metres to run. The connections were advised the mare was stood down until such time that it could complete a satisfactory trial.
RUSTY I AM - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the final straight.
BRIGHT GLOW - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver I Cameron. Over-raced middle stages.
MAJESTIC MOMENT - raced wide early stages. Hung inwards into the passing lane in the initial stages of the run home for a short distance.
RUTHLESS KAYLA - raced wide early and middle stages until being taken forward to race outside the leader near the 900 metres.
NOBLE LAVROS - out of position at the start. Broke passing the 1500 metres when being steadied due to the gelding over-racing and becoming awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of SHPEEDY. Again broke passing the 100 metres.
MEKONG PRINCESS - boring pole removed prior to the start. Slow out of the pre-race formation being back a distance at the start. Broke at the 800 metres. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which showed signs of soreness through its hocks as well as jarring up to its right front foot. The mare was also showing signs of suffering from gastric ulcers and was stood down pending a veterinary clearance.

NAHOLO - broke briefly after 150 metres.
GYPSY'S CHOICE - held up in the early stages of the run home. Stewards questioned driver S Whatuira (assisted by R Holmes) regarding her decision not to improve her position wider on the final bend. Miss Whatuira explained that her runner had previously shown an inclination to hang inwards over the final stages and due to the close proximity of LIBERAL ARDEN to her sulky was reluctant to make an outwards movement as she may have interfered with that gelding. After considering Miss Whatuira's explanation, Stewards advised that whilst on this occasion they were satisfied it had not cost her a placing it was expected in future she drive in a more competitive manner.
AVEROSS RUSTLER - weakened near the 350 metres.
ALOKA - raced wide in the early stages. Raced roughly and then broke for a short distance near the 1400 metres having to be steadied. Driver B Orange advised the deafeners were not activated.
AFTERDINNERSPEAKER - raced wide in the early stages.
DEBNITA ROSE - hung inwards round the final bend.
ART COURAGE - driver N Rasmussen advised she sustained a punctured sulky tyre leaving the final bend.
THE TIN SOLDIER - held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.

FUNATTHEBEACH - when questioned regarding the performance, driver N Purdon advised that considering the sectionals of the race he was not overly disappointed with its effort.
GENTLE GIANT - held up rounding the final bend and had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
HENRY HUBERT - over-raced middle stages. Had to be steadied near the 900 metres.
TENNYSON BROMAC - raced wide from the 1000 metres.
HAIL CHRISTIAN - over-raced and hung outwards in the score up and early stages.

The start of this race was delayed after ROYAL BENGAL required the services of the farrier.
MASTER MOONLITE - pre-race warm up.
SWEET MARY - raced wide through the early stages.
SCOTLYNN MACH - weakened final bend.
TIGER THOMPSON - over-raced in the score up and broke prior to the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Raced roughly near the 1600 metres and had to be steadied.
AMAZON LILY - raced wide in the early stages. Weakened final bend.
EJA PATRON - raced roughly in the early stages. Hung inwards when under pressure in the early stages of the run home.
STAR COMMANDER - shifted outwards under pressure throughout the final straight. Driver B Orange was issued with a warning for failing to take sufficient corrective measures.

DIBABA - paced roughly for several strides near the 1100 metres when awkwardly placed close to the back of COMFORTABLY NUMB.
COMFORTABLY NUMB - hung inwards and lost ground rounding the final bend when under pressure.

DRAGON BOY - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Hung inwards rounding the bend nearing the 1500 metres striking several track markers before breaking again near the 1400 metres.
WOODSTONE - broke at the start losing ground. Settled and then broke again losing its chance.
MEDUSA - when questioned regarding the mare's performance, Trainer K Cameron explained the mare had been unsuited to the tempo dictated throughout and in his opinion was better suited to shorter course racing. Driver G Smith added that today's field represented what he considered to be a rise in class to what she had been recently competing against.
MONKEY'S WAY - when questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer J Aarts explained that the gelding had taken benefit from several gear changes and performed very well at a recent workout because of this.
SUNSET PEAK - raced keenly in the middle stages. Weakened near the 600 metres. Trainer P McDonald was fined $100 for failing to correctly affix a hind bandage which came adrift during the running.
KOWHAI WHIZ - raced roughly when improving wider on the track near the 300 metres.

THE GO TO MAN - shifted outwards abruptly near the 150 metres causing outside runners to be hampered. Stewards advised driver J Cox it was expected he show a higher standard of control when shifting ground in future with a warning placed on his record.
IDEAL DRAW - paced roughly nearing the 450 metres.
IT'S A DEAL - over-raced middle stages. Raced wide from the 1500 metres. Weakened passing the 300 metres. Driver R Cameron reported the gelding had hung throughout.
OHOKA JOHNNY - lay inwards throughout the final straight.
EVERY OPTION - raced in restricted room over the final stages of the score up and in consequence was a short distance out of position at the start.
PADDINGTON CENTRAL - hung inwards in the score up. Over-raced through the early and middle stages. Lay inwards in the early stages of the run home with driver T Chmiel having some difficulty shifting the gelding wider to improve its position. Had to be steadied near the 150 metres when awkwardly positioned close to the sulky wheel of OHOKA JOHNNY which was moving outwards.

VAN LADDIE - over-raced when being restrained to take a trail near the 1300 metres. Weakened final bend.
MARTIN JOHN - over-raced in the early stages. Shifted outwards near the 1500 metres when there was an easing of the pace causing driver T Chmiel to have some difficulty with this runner.
CLAUS - made an unsuccessful attempt for the front and was then steadied near the 1700 metres causing an easing of the pace in the two wide line. Driver R Close was shown the films and spoken to advisedly for the manner in which he drove at this time causing difficulty for trailing runners.
IODEAN - hampered final bend.
BETTOR THAN THAT - hampered final bend.
ARTICULIGHT - had to be steadied in the early stages due to an easing of the pace. Held up on the final bend and early stages of the run home.
FIZZING - had to be steadied in the early stages due to an easing of the pace. Raced wide from the 1400 metres until being taken forwards to race outside the leader near the 700 metres.
I'M JIMMY JAMES - heavily checked on the final bend.
GLENGARRY ROSE - held up on the final bend by a weakening runner. Shifted outwards near the 300 metres where insufficient room existed which caused the weakening I'M JIMMY JAMES (J Cox) to race in restricted room and be taken outwards and checked. Stewards questioned drivers G O'Reilly and J Cox and after considering their explanations issued Mr O'Reilly with a charge alleging he had driven carelessly at this time. Mr O'Reilly admitted the charge and the JCA imposed a fine of $400.
MACHSGAIN - checked final bend and had to shift outwards.
ALL NUTS N BOLTS - inconvenienced final bend.
