R GEE BEE - inconvenienced briefly straightening up for the run home. | |
WAINGARO MARA - held up rounding the final bend and over the early stages of the run home. Driver N. Chilcott was cautioned in regard to shifting inside a marker peg in the early stages of the run home when activating gear. The Stewards were satisfied that she had not gained an advantage by this shift. | |
THE THUG - shifted out approaching the 200 metres inconveniencing BOPPER JET before pacing roughly and shifting back down having to be corrected by Driver B. Mangos which resulted in ITALIAN DELIGHT being checked for several strides. Driver B. Mangos advised that the gelding over-raced throughout the event. Stewards established Driver B. Mangos was not culpable in regard to his chin strap being undone during the running, having come adrift at the start. Mr Mangos advised that he had been required just prior to the start to remove his helmet to enable the Club's promotional Christmas hat to be attached. Unfortunately the chin strap was not properly re-secured and came adrift. He attempted to do the strap up on a number of occasions during the event but was unsuccessful due to his horse pulling hard. | |
ROBB STARK - broke entering the first turn checking a trailing runner and lost all chance. A warning was placed on this gelding's racing manners. | |
ITALIAN DELIGHT - checked entering the first turn losing ground. Held up early final turn. Checked approaching the 200 metres. | |

ALTA SHANGRI LA - after setting a fast tempo in the lead weakened from inside the 300 metres impeding trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. | |
IVANA FLYBYE - lay out badly after the start racing into the first bend contacting the wheel of the sulky of JUICE BROGDEN resulting in the filly pacing roughly for several strides. Impeded by a tiring runner rounding the final bend. | |
SUZIE PEE JAY - locked on one rein when racing outside the leader down the back straight for the final time and shifted wider on the track rounding the home bend, weakening out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Driver M. McKendry advised the mare was contacting its sulky wheel with its hind leg and at the same time running away from its murphy blind causing it to shift wider on the track. A warning was placed on this mare's racing manners record. | |
ASK AGAIN - restrained from a position racing one out without cover to shift inward to three deep on the running line inside the 1400 metres. | |
JUICE BROGDEN - sulky wheel contacted racing into the first bend by a runner laying outward to its inside. | |
STEP UP - over-raced when being restrained due to an easing of the pace inside the 1400 metres. | |

HARPAGUS - held up rounding the final bend and failed to get clear racing room until inside the final 70 metres. Driver P. Butcher advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners. | |
