ALTA LEONIE - raced greenly and lay out near the 2000 metres contacting the sulky of SARABI. Raced roughly again shortly after before being taken forward to race outside the leader near the 1600 metres.
ANNA BARCLAY - Driver S. Abernethy was spoken to advisedly in relation to the manner in which he used the whip approaching the 400 metres.
MAGICAL MISS - raced roughly near the 900 metres when at the rear.

DAUNTLESS - Driver B. Edwards defended a charge under Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip in a striking motion on more than 10 occasions inside the final 400 metres. The JCA upheld the charge and imposed a fine of $500.
SECRETOFTHESEA SMILE - broke at the start and settled at the rear.
SIR HENRY CASTLETON - broke at the start and settled at the rear.
MAJESTIC SPIRIT - broke on the final turn losing all chance.
SPEEDY LAVROS - reared on several occasions when called forward prior to the start. Trotted roughly shortly after the start. Held up early on the final turn. Junior Driver R. Argue reported that he had been unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the release cord breaking when the gelding reared prior to the start.
ONE BID BUYS - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.

WILLEDU - caused a false start when it raced fiercely in the score up and pulled its way in front of the mobile arm. A warning was placed on this gelding's mobile barrier manners. Junior Driver N Delany, assisted by Senior Driver S. Argue, was cautioned for the manner in which he drove leaving the back straight the final time when WILLEDU contacted a number of marker pegs.
JAMIESON SHARD - broke near the 300 metres when leading losing ground before settling. Lay in and contacted several marker pegs passing the 250 metres. A warning was placed on this gelding's racing manners. Junior Driver J. MacKinnon was cautioned for allowing his gelding to shift down into the passing lane early in the run home.
KAITLYN - raced three wide without cover from the 1200 metres.
WILL TAKE CHARGE - paced roughly on the final turn when attempting to improve wide and then broke near the 250 metres. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.

DANCE TIME - failed to follow the mobile in the initial stages of the score up and trailed the field throughout. It was subsequently established that the gelding had got its rump under a sulky shaft when being assisted by an attendant to turn to follow the mobile and that the situation had further been compounded when the gaiting strap on the sulky had become caught on the crupper. Acting under Rule 213(1)(j) DANCE TIME was declared a non-runner on the grounds that the gelding was denied a fair start. Junior Driver J. MacKinnon was advised that he would be expected to make a greater effort to indicate to the Starter that he had gear issues given similar circumstances in the future.

RUSSIAN ALSU - commenced to weaken approaching the 400 metres.
MY CASH -Junior Driver R. Argue was cautioned for the manner in which he shifted ground down onto the marker line passing the 1800 metres which tightened the ground of TENNYSON INLET. Inconvenienced when held up by weakening runner approaching the 400 metres.

GEORGIAS CROWN - broke at the start losing all chance.
PARAMOUR - broke in the score up and was back several lengths from position at despatch. Lay in and contacted several marker pegs at the 800 metres when at the rear.
LUCK OF THE MOMENT - lay in and then broke approaching the 200 metres losing all chance.
KEYSTONE CAVALIER - weakened from the 400 metres and broke short of the winning post when at the rear.
