The start was delayed for four minutes due to LOVELY BUNDY requiring attention from the farrier.
LOVELY BUNDY - lay in on the final turn contacting several marker pegs.
 
Race 2MR CHIPS MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
CHILLYSJUSTAMASTER - weakened over the final stages finishing well back.
SHADOW MAKER - paced roughly and broke passing the 500 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners record.
SWEET N FAST - improved three wide with cover from the 1300 metres before crossing to race outside the leader passing the 600 metres.
BIT OF A TIGER - paced roughly after the start.

MEANDER WITH PEGASUS - Junior Driver J. Wallace was cautioned in regard to a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule passing the 1700 metres which resulted in THE CROWN JEWELS momentarily racing three wide. The mare weakened out over the latter stages of the race finishing well back.
GALLEONS VICTORY - broke for a distance shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
THE CROWN JEWELS - broke at the start settling quickly and was caught three wide over the initial stages of the race.
SHARDON'S PEARL - when giving ground, checked for a stride when tightened for room passing the 300 metres.
PRIMUS INTER PARES - Junior Driver R. Argue was cautioned in regard to allowing his horse to drift into the passing lane over the latter stages of the run home.
MONSEIGNEUR - inconvenienced passing the 300 metres.
MORTICIAN - Junior Driver J. Morrison was cautioned in regard to allowing his gelding to shift ground inward passing the 300 metres tightening runners to his inside.

AMERICAN EMPRESS - lay out shortly after the start and was momentarily tightened for room racing into the first bend breaking for a couple of strides after contacting the wheel of the sulky of CULPEKA. When questioned regarding this incident Driver S. Abernethy confirmed that the mare had contributed by laying out when being restrained.
CULPEKA - tightened for room racing into the first bend. When questioned by Stewards in regard to the colt's performance over the latter stages of the race, Driver B. Mangos advised that when in the lead entering the straight for the run home, the colt dropped the bit and when challenged ran on again to finish the race strongly. He explained that the three year old at this stage of its career is not a natural leader and was more suited being driven with cover.
ROYAL LINCOLN - raced three wide early and middle stages.
ARDENT LUSTRE - Driver A. Poutama was cautioned in regard to allowing sufficient room when crossing over to the lead after he tightened the ground of CULPEKA and AMERICAN EMPRESS entering the first turn.
PARK AVENUE - raced three wide middle stages.

SUPER CHANGE - paced roughly and lost ground shortly after the start.
THE PEACEMAKER - hung badly in the score up and on numerous occasions during the running.
LINC'S GRACE - weakened over the latter stages.
 
Race 6METALCRAFT ROOFING MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
TAHLIA FRANCO - broke free of interference racing toward the first bend losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners record.
MYCHRISTIAN - lay in badly rounding the final bend giving ground.
DOUBLE TWIST - Driver B. Mangos was cautioned after he failed to come up into his mobile barrier position at the start. The mare was a length out of position at the start.
RUSSIAN ALSU - paced unevenly over the initial stages of the race.
GOTTA MOMENT - held up rounding the final bend.
CHRISTANNA - held up rounding the final bend and the early stages of the run home.

STEP UP - inclined to lay out throughout the running.
GOTTA GO DALI QUEEN - slow to move away early in the score up.
LUSTY MAC - held up over the latter stages of the run home.
VALOR LUSTRE - A Minor Infringement Notice was issued and a $50 fine was imposed on Trainer S. Telfer for the late notification of a change of gear for the mare, removing sliding blinds and adding removable deafeners. Shifted ground outward evading a tiring runner over the middle stages of the run home.

BURT MUNRO - broke briefly at the start.
JOMO - broke racing toward the first bend and continued in a gallop for a distance. A Protest was lodged against the gelding's fourth placing under Rule 870(3) in that it failed to regain its gait promptly. The Protest was not contested and the JCA disqualified JOMO from fourth placing.
ITSNOWORNEVER - Trainer S. Branch advised the mare would be racing in season. Broke approaching the first bend losing considerable ground.
LITTLE BRO - broke at the start losing several lengths.
SHAY SCOTT - broke badly at the start losing considerable ground.
LOVEONTHELAWN - broke passing the 400 metres losing its chance.
 
Race 9STREAMLINE FREIGHT TROTVideo  Video 
SWINGING - broke approaching the 400 metres losing ground. The gelding's fifth stake bearing place was authorized after Stewards confirmed that the horse did not gallop in excess of 150 metres.
CYCLONE L KO - delayed the start of the event after being fractious. Broke shortly after the start but settled quickly.
PARAMOUR - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
GEORGIAS CROWN - broke shortly after the start and was checked by another runner approximately 100 metres after the start.
STOW - broke shortly after the start veering inward checking another runner.
SEQUOIA - broke at the start and again passing the 1600 metres losing considerable ground.
JEWEL OF SHEBAR - broke passing the 300 metres.
SECRETOFTHESEA SMILE - broke passing the 2000 metres when racing into the lead. The authorization of the payment of the fourth placing was withheld until such time that it was confirmed that the mare had not galloped excessively and complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
