Race 8 - NRM SIRES' STAKES SERIES (HEAT 5) MOBILE PACE

Trainer N McGrath advised Stewards on 16 November that ALOKA was found to be suffering from a virus following its performance at Addington on 3 November with this since being treated. Mr McGrath further advised that the colt has worked well in preparation for its engagement on Show Day.

Trainer C Dalgety advised Stewards on 14 November that blood tests taken from FLYIN MILLY MAC have revealed minor abnormalities in the white cell count with the filly being treated. Mr Dalgety added that she will now be given a brief freshen up.

Trainer P Iggo advised Stewards on 15 November that MUSCULUS had sucked wind in its preliminary and during its race at Addington on Tuesday. In an attempt to curb this tendency the gelding will pre race warm up before its upcoming engagements.

SAGE TROUBLE - broke at the start.
SPEEDY COMMAND - hung inwards and struck a pylon near the 1300 metres which was dislodged. Driver A Butt was warned for half carting for a short distance on the final bend.
MYSTICAL STAR - broke at the start and shifted ground outwards checking RAZOR. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Trotted roughly in the home straight.
PARADISE SPUR - broke with 800 metres to run losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
WOOMAMASAMPSON - Trainer K Lynn advised the mare would be racing in season. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being kicked in the stable area and was cleared to start. Broke with 1300 metres to run.
QUEEN OF LOVE - broke at the start. Held up for clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the home straight. Trotted roughly in the run home. Driver R May advised he had not been afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the filly had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages.
RAZOR - checked shortly after the start and broke.

BETTERTHANSPRAYING - raced wide early stages.
DE LANCOME - paced roughly with 700 metres to run and broke briefly. Driver J Dunn advised that the filly had raced keenly when the three wide line had improved to his outside and had hung inwards causing him difficulty.
CULLENS JOY - hung inwards near the 200 metres.
AHAU TIKAO - hung in the score up and was slightly out of position at dispatch. Continued to hang in the early stages. Hung badly on the final bend and dropped out finishing a distant last. A post-race veterinary examination showed no abnormalities. Driver B Orange advised that the filly would no longer be persevered with.
CHRISTIE MARIE - paced roughly near the 350 metres.

MAGASTEY - broke with 450 metres to run. Driver K Butt reported that the gelding had panicked when racing between runners.

MOTU BETTOR BE QUICK - held up early stages of the home straight.
THE DOORMAN - raced wide early stages.
MAHKSMAN - slow to leave the pre-race circle and was out of position at the start. Improved wide without cover from the 1500 metres.
KATIES NIGHTMARE - commenced to weaken from the 700 metres. When questioned regarding the mare's performance, driver R Close reported she had travelled well until the 700 metres but had raced lethargically thereafter. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of KATIES NIGHTMARE.
GORE BAY - held up early in the run home.
MOCKINGJAY - over-raced and raced wide in the early stages
CARBONADO - out of position at the start. Driver G O'Reilly was issued with a warning. Raced wide early stages.

FRANCO HATTON - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
CRIMSON LANE - hung inwards passing the 200 metres.
LIKE YA MORE - held up early stages of the run home. Driver L McCormick reported the gelding had hung in badly on the final bend and was unable to improve wider on the track as a result.
FOUR STARZZZ LEGEND - the off side boring pole was removed prior to the start. Broke at the start.
SUMMER WEALTH - fractious prior to the start. Driver J Dunn advised he did not activate the removable deafeners.
THE DIRECTOR - raced wide in the early stages.
THE KINGPIN - slow to begin from the unruly.

RED RIVER LOCHEE - broke briefly in the score up hampering trailing runners. Shifted inwards racing into the first bend. Driver R Haythornthwaite was shown a replay and advised to exercise care when shifting ground. Weakened final bend.
GUNPOWDER - held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
EARTHBOUND - hampered in the score up and was back slightly at the start. Struck pylons near the 1900 metres. Driver B Orange was warned to ensure contact is not made with track markers. Held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
MACH'S TERMINATOR - hampered in the score up.
HAVINARAVUP - the required veterinary clearance was received.

When questioned regarding the performance, driver S Ottley advised the filly had begun quicker than expected and had worked hard in the early stages to maintain the lead, which she felt had taken its toll and as a result was unable to finish the race off competitively.
PLAYA VISTA - tangled away.
NUI BA DEN - tangled away. Hung inwards throughout.
IDEAL DRAW - held up on the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance, driver C Thornley reported the gelding had raced greenly throughout and he felt the horse would derive significant benefit from the race.
NIMAH FRANCO - held up on the final bend.
EVERY OPTION - held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. When spoken to regarding the improved performance trainer M Smolenski advised that the horse had broken in the early stages at its last start however had finished the race off strongly. He added that he was not surprised with today's effort considering the economical run it had received throughout.
MEGAGEM - held up early and middle stages of the home straight.
BEAU VISTA - broke after 150 metres losing ground. Held up leaving the final bend.

SEA ROVER - broke after 100 metres.
NO FEARS - driver G O'Reilly advised the gelding had trotted roughly throughout the home straight and he was unable to place the horse under any pressure. Mr O'Reilly added he had not activated the removable deafeners.
LADY BEATRIX BOURBON - paced away and had to be broken up.
SUCH FUN - broke at the start.
WOODSTONE - held up early stages of the home straight.
TIJUANA TAXI - broke at the start losing all chance.
HIGHLAND STAR - broke passing the 150 metres. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
DRAGON BOY - broke at the start.

MAJOR FOUR - driver M Hurrell who declined assistance from a Senior Horseman, admitted a breach of Rule 869(4)(6)(b) and (c) in that he shifted ground outwards at the 1150 metres forcing NERVE OF STEEL wider on the track. After hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
LIVING LEGEND - raced wide rounding the first bend. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Driver S O'Reilly was warned for failing to report she did not activate the removable deafeners after they became entangled.
BLACK ART - driver A Fitzgerald (assisted by J Dunn) admitted a breach of Rule 869(4)(6)(b) and (c) in that he shifted ground outwards near the 1100 metres forcing KIEL wider on the track. After hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
KIEL - paced roughly near the 1100 metres after being forced wider on the track by BLACK ART.
CHRISTIAN WHO - raced fiercely for a distance passing the 1700 metres and made contact with the sulky wheel of BUSHIDO. Raced roughly on the final bend and broke passing the 350 metres. A post-race veterinary examination showed no abnormalities.
NERVE OF STEEL - forced wider on the track near the 1150 metres by MAJOR FOUR.

BRIDGET BLUE CHIP - held up early stages of the run home. Paced roughly near the 200 metres when momentarily placed in restricted room. Again held up late in the run home.
SAMARIAS FALCON - broke at the start. Paced roughly over the final 100 metres.
SHEEZ GOOD - held up for clear racing room until late in the run home.
PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING - over-raced in the early and middle stages.

Driver D Dunn reported that in his opinion the filly may not have backed up from its last start on 10 November. A post-race veterinary examination showed no abnormalities.
MAJOR HIPPIE - over-raced through the middle stages before weakening leaving the final bend.
