Pre-race blood testing was carried out on selected runners.

Alcohol testing of drivers was carried out.

The start of Race 3 was delayed when a fire alarm was activated in the main stand with patrons and officials having to be evacuated.
As a result the start times for Races 4 and 5 were rescheduled to 1.40pm and 2.10pm respectively.

FEATHER BOYZ - broke at the start and lost its chance.
ALVIRA HEST - broke at the start. Inconvenienced near the 600 metres when having to shift ground to avoid a tiring runner.
TESSA'S ROCKET - trotted roughly after 100 metres having to be steadied.
RED HOT POKER - broke 100 metres after the start losing considerable ground eventually being retired from the race.
IZMOK - hampered in the early stages. Inconvenienced near the 600 metres when having to shift ground to avoid a tiring runner.
BREENYS CULLEN - slow to begin. Checked and broke after 150 metres losing considerable ground.
VALMAGNE - broke shortly after the start. Held up on the bend near the 300 metres having to be restrained and shifted inwards to improve. The all clear was withheld until it could be confirmed the gelding did not gallop excessively in the early stages.
TROUBLE GIERO - broke after 200 metres. Trotted roughly when weakening near the 600 metres.
LAVROS JACK - started back from the unruly position.
ZACHARY BINX - inconvenienced by breaking runners at the start. Inconvenienced near the 600 metres when having to shift ground to avoid a tiring runner.

CAVIAR STAR - heavily checked near the 350 metres.
HUNDIE - heavily checked near the 350 metres.
JOHNNY MAC - out of position at the candy pole and start. Driver A Butt was issued with a warning. Heavily checked near the 350 metres.
TUAPEKA TRICK - hampered on the bend near the 350 metres.
EDITORIAL - raced fiercely in the middle stages and was unable to surrender the parked position despite the efforts of driver J Cox. Commenced to weaken at the 400 metres then paced roughly and broke checking several runners. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. Mr Bagrie advised he would be replacing the go straights with spreaders and applying a boring pole to his gelding for racing on Show Day. Considering the intentions of Mr Bagrie and the horse's clear record, Stewards took no more action other than to place a warning on the gelding's record.
SHENANDOAH - raced wide throughout. Tired from the 500 metres. Heavily checked near the 350 metres.
ACUTO - heavily checked near the 350 metres.
PEMBROOK'S PASSION - Trainer G Smith was fined $100 for being late to arrive on course. Paced roughly when attempting to improve three wide near the 1100 metres. Again raced roughly approaching the 800 metres. Heavily checked near the 350 metres. A post-race veterinary examination showed no abnormalities.

There was a considerable delay to the start of this race when a fire alarm was activated in the main stand with patrons and officials having to be evacuated.
DONSMEDAD - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
LOTHARIO - broke at the 2100 metres. Trotted roughly on the final bend.
ALDERBECK - broke after 100 metres losing its chance.
 
Race 4HOME & FAMILY AND LIVING SPRINGS FREE-FOR-ALL (MOBILE PACE)Video  Video 
FRANCO TEXAS - over-raced early and middle stages. When questioned regarding the gelding's performance driver J Young could offer no explanation but advised she had been disappointed with its efforts over the final stages. Trainer D Taylor advised the gelding had failed to handle the rise in class of today's opposition.
ALPHA ROCK - hung inwards rounding the final bend and lost ground.
 
Race 5RNP HOMES LTD MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
JULIA LADY - the connections advised Stewards the mare had been served. Lay inwards throughout the run home.
SAILS - paced roughly as the start was effected and settled back as a result. At the request of the connections will now be drawn unruly for mobile starts. Over-raced near the 300 metres and had to be steadied when awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of GUPTA'S CULLEN. Paced roughly over the concluding stages.
DEBNITA ROSE - raced wide in the early stages.
BETTOR CHANCE - raced roughly when held up on the final bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
GYPSY'S CHOICE - paced roughly as the start was effected.
SANS LE SOU - driver C DeFilippi admitted using his whip excessively inside the final 400 metres and the JCA suspended his Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 17 November 2017 up to and including 2 December 2017 (3 days).
LAYTONS LASS - inconvenienced shortly after the start. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Hung inwards under pressure near the 200 metres having to be steadied.
GUPTA'S CULLEN - raced keenly in the middle stages. Held up throughout the run home with driver J Cox advising he did not activate the mare's gear.
 
Race 6GRANITE BENCHTOP COMPANY NZ TROTTING FREE-FOR-ALL (MOBILE)Video  Video 
MARCOOLA - weakened on the bend near the 400 metres. When questioned regarding the performance, trainer K Ford advised that they had been very disappointed with the entire's efforts and it was their intention to consider applying blinds. A post-race veterinary examination showed no abnormalities.
RONALD J - shifted outwards in the early stages to be taken forwards but when doing so made contact with the right side sulky wheel of ARYA resulting in the gelding breaking and losing its chance. Driver B Butt defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly at this time and after viewing the films and hearing evidence, the JCA upheld the charge. After submissions on penalty Mr Butt's Horseman's Licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 17 November 2017 up to and including 26 November 2017 (3 days).
VALMAGNE - late scratching at 12.40pm after starting in Race 1.
ARYA - inconvenienced at the 350 metres when racing in restricted room.
AMARETTO SUN - raced wide throughout.
ONE OVER DA MOON - lay inwards near the 350 metres.
PRINCE FEARLESS - broke at the 1600 metres losing all chance.
 
Race 7NRM SIRES STAKES SERIES No.34 FINAL (MOBILE PACE)Video  Video 
ALL U NEED IS FAITH - raced fiercely in the early stages with driver N Purdon having considerable difficulty restraining the colt to surrender the parked position.
HENRY HUBERT - over-raced middle stages. Held up in the early stages of the run home and had to shift outwards to obtain clear running with the colt then pacing roughly.
THE DEVILS OWN - raced wide throughout.
SPANKEM - raced wide throughout.
RECCO LOVER - raced in restricted room on the final bend and in consequence was shifted inside the marker line for a short distance. Locked wheels with CULLENBURN over the final stages.
ALTA MAESTRO - out of position at the start. An Information was lodged against driver J Dunn with this being opened and adjourned. Raced wide throughout. Shifted to a five wide position on the bend near the 400 metres.
CULLENBURN - locked wheels with RECCO LOVER over the final stages.
THINK ABOUT ME - held up on the final bend and raced roughly for a short distance near the 350 metres.
AMERICAN BRAVE - over-raced in the early stages and had to be restrained near the 1500 metres when awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of THINK ABOUT ME.
TENNYSON BROMAC - hung inwards on the final bend causing another runner some tightening. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home. Again held up over the final stages.

REGAL MAJOR - weakened on the final bend.
SHINEONUCRAZYDIAMOND - raced roughly for a stride near the 400 metres when improving outwards into a three wide position.
JOHNNY EYRE - over-raced when being restrained in the early stages.
MONGOLIAN STORM - lay outwards under pressure throughout the final straight.
THE DORCHESTER - Trainer M Kerr was charged a $25 colour fee. Driver M Anderson (assisted by B Mangos) admitted using his whip excessively inside the final 400 metres. After submissions on penalty the JCA suspended Mr Anderson's Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 20 November 2017 up to and including 24 November 2017 (3 days).

MACH UP - paced roughly shortly after the start and had to be steadied.
MISS ETHEL SUNSHINE - paced roughly shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Raced four wide from the 700 metres.
ANA MALAK - raced wide in the early and middle stages.
FUNATTHEBEACH - raced wide in the early stages.

The start was delayed when the boring pole on TIGER TARA had to be re-fitted.
NO DOCTOR NEEDED - slow to begin. Held up throughout the run home.
SEEL THE DEAL - stood on the mark and then had its wheel locked by the improving DREAM ABOUT ME causing driver R May to be dislodged. This gelding then galloped free of its driver for a short distance before being recaptured by the Starter's Assistants. Mr May was uninjured and cleared to fulfill his remaining driving engagements. A warning was placed on the standing start record of SEEL THE DEAL.
PICCADILLY PRINCESS - had to be steadied over the very final stages when runners either side shifted ground restricting her racing room.
IMOLA - broke at the start and then raced roughly once settling having to be steadied losing further ground. Checked near the 750 metres having to race wider on the track.
TITAN BANNER - checked near the 800 metres having to shift from the one one to a three wide position with cover.
MAXIM - broke at the start. Held up in the early stages of the run home.
TIGER TARA - over-raced in the middle stages. Broke for a short distance at the 800 metres. When questioned regarding this incident driver T McCarthy advised he felt the entire had jumped a mark on the track. Stewards films failed to show any irregularity with the track surface. A post-race veterinary examination showed no abnormalities. Stewards placed a warning on the racing record of TIGER TARA.
DREAM ABOUT ME - checked at the start and took no part in the event.
HEAVEN ROCKS - broke at the start. Raced wide for a considerable distance in the middle stages.
ROBBIE BURNS - broke at the start. Checked near the 750 metres having to be restrained suddenly and being forced to race wider on the track.
HAVE FAITH IN ME - checked near the 750 metres and went from racing three wide with cover to a four wide uncovered position for the remainder of the race.
 
Race 11THE RECRUITMENT NETWORK TROTVideo  Video 
DANIELLE AMORE - broke with 70 metres remaining.
ANOTHER CHAPTER - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home and was not able to be fully tested.
MUSCULUS - broke at the start and lost considerable ground.
SHPEEDY - broke passing the 2400 metres.
YOUNG STRANGER - trotting roughly on the final bend. Broke passing the 150 metres.
SUNDEES SON - broke after 100 metres for a short distance.
THE DOMINATOR - broke entering the first bend near the 2300 metres checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
JERRY GARCIA - checked and broke near the 2300 metres. Broke passing the 1000 metres. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
 
Race 12BLUE STAR TAXIS MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
KARDESLER - out of position at the candy pole and start. Driver R Payne was issued with a warning.
LINTON SHARD - unable to maintain its position on the barrier despite the efforts of driver D Butcher. Raced roughly when in restricted room on the final bend. Driver D Butcher advised his runner had struck a knee when hanging inwards and then shifted ground outwards. A post-race veterinary examination showed no abnormalities other than a minor superficial abrasion on the right front coronary band.
GENTLE GIANT - shifted outwards on the final bend when not sufficiently clear causing LINTON SHARD to be steadied. Stewards questioned drivers N Purdon (GENTLE GIANT), D Butcher (LINTON SHARD), T McCarthy (BLUE BLAZER) and T Williams (FRANCO HAMPTON) regarding this incident and after doing so were not comfortably satisfied any one horse or driver had caused this incident. Notwithstanding this Stewards cautioned N Purdon for shifting ground when not fully clear.
BETTOR TRIX - hung inwards over the final stages.
BLUE BLAZER - hung inwards on the final bend.
PIRATE BAY - driver Z Butcher advised the removable deafeners were not activated due to the cord becoming entangled.
AFTERDINNERSPEAKER - checked on the final bend having to race wide.
FRANCO HAMPTON - raced wide throughout. Broke on the final bend when weakening and in restricted room. Driver T Williams advised he had received pressure from the inside runner LINTON SHARD and the outside BLUE BLAZER when they both shifted ground.
BEACHBABEBEAUTY - heavily checked on the final bend.
BARE KNUCKLE - heavily checked on the final bend.
TIMES STRIDE - checked on the final bend having to race wide.
