After hearing submissions on penalty the JCA suspended Mr Hurrell's horseman's licence from the conclusion of racing on 19 November up to and including 26 November 2017 (3 days). | |

| IDEAL CONQUEST - Stewards questioned driver M Anderson regarding the tactics he adopted in the early stages when electing to challenge for the lead for a distance when there was an opportunity to restrain his mare and obtain cover behind KIWI ON SHOW. Mr Anderson explained that he was instructed to take up a forward position in the running which was its normal racing pattern and that the mare had over-raced during the score up and in the early stages. Mr Anderson stated that due to IDEAL CONQUEST's racing tendency he believed that by improving the mare into a leading position, it would be a more preferred option in an attempt to relax her.
