Mr Simpson added that after assessing his gelding's performance tonight, he had no firm plans as to how his runner would be handled in future and his intention would be to make that decision on a race by race basis. Stewards questioned Driver B Orange who explained that he had advised D Simpson subsequent to that run the horse was possibly best driven with a sit however at it's next race had disappointed him with it's efforts when driven in that manner. He added that he felt it would have been detrimental to restrain in the early stages over 2200 metres and drive for luck so attempted to be more positive with the horse and take up a forwards position. The comments of Mr Simpson and Mr Orange were noted.
