MAHKSMAN - over-raced middle stages. When questioned regarding his decision to shift inwards and race four back on the pylons near the 1400 metres, driver D Dunn explained when taking into account the slow sectionals dictated in the early stages of the race he was aware that it would turn into a sprint home and was of the opinion his horse was better suited to racing against the pylons when this eventuated as opposed to racing three wide without cover. Stewards accepted his explanation. | |
