Trainers were advised that Mudguards were to be applied to all sulkies.

Race 2 - VIVACE ESPRESSO TROT
Trainer K James advised Stewards on 8 October that blood tests taken from PRINCESS HARBOUR following its performance at Addington on 29 September revealed that the mare had tied up with this since having been treated.

Race 3 - ORANGE HOMES 2005 LTD MOBILE PACE
Trainer A Stuart advised Stewards on 4 October that a thorough veterinary examination of THE RED BARON following its disappointing performance at Motukarara on Sunday have revealed no abnormalities with the gelding recovering well. Mr Stuart could only put the performance down to not handling the track adding that it will next race at Addington on Friday 13 October.
Race 5 - ADVANCED JOINERY LTD MOBILE PACE
Trainer N McGrath informed Stewards on 5 October that following its run at Motukarara on 2 October blood tests showed GORE BAY having a high white cell count which has since been treated.
Race 7 - BOB GEDDES MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
The Taylor stable advised Stewards on 4 October that MARAT SAF FINN has recovered well following its performance at Motukarara on Sunday adding that on reflection the run was not disappointing given the sectional times of the race and the track condition.
Trainer D Ottley advised Stewards on 4 October that OK I'M BAD has recovered well since its run at Motukarara on Sunday and will be aimed for a start at Methven next Sunday.

DON'T ROCK THE BOAT - weakened from the 500 metres.
SEA ROVER - broke near the 400 metres.
SPUROFTHEMOMENT - broke after 200 metres.
MASIES PRIDE - broke passing the 400 metres and failed to settle.
B D SON - broke after 200 metres and then raced wide until near the 1500 metres. Held up final bend.
SAGE TROUBLE - broke after 200 metres.
MUSCLE PAT - weakened from the 500 metres.
NO FEARS - hung outwards in the home straight.
SUCH FUN - broke at the start losing its chance.

BICTON - paced roughly near the 400 metres.
BETTOR TRENZ - broke shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier record. Commenced to weaken from the 500 metres.
DOWNTOWN TRAIN - lay inwards throughout the home straight.
REAAL CLOVELLY - out of position at the start. Driver T Healy was issued with a warning.

RED RIVER LOCHEE - checked racing into the first bend when positioned to the inside of FRANCO CALIPH which shifted inwards.
FRANCO CALIPH - shifted inwards after 200 metres causing RED RIVER LOCHEE to be checked and break. Driver R Sissons admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident. After hearing submissions on penalty the JCA suspended Mr Sissons' Amateur Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 12 October 2017 up to and including 13 December 2017 (2 months). Held up behind tiring runner passing the 600 metres. Mr Sissons reported he lost his whip in the back straight on the final occasion.
OPAWA MACH - held up for clear racing room until late in the run home.
GRACEANDTEMIKA - hampered first bend. Raced wide without cover through the middle stages. Weakened badly from the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer B Negus advised that he would be reassessing the mare's racing future.
NERVE OF STEEL - hampered first bend. Raced wide through the middle stages before reaching the parked position with 1100 metres to run.
RED UNDER FIRE - hampered first bend. Raced wide through the middle stages.
ELUSIVE FLIGHT - broke in the score up and was out of position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier record. Driver M Love was shown a replay and cautioned for crowding the racing room of LIVING LEGEND near the 250 metres.
LLOYDIN MAGIC - hampered first bend. Weakened over the concluding stages.
BETTOR BACKIM - held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight.
LIVING LEGEND - hampered first bend. Placed in restricted room in the early stages of the home straight and had to be steadied.
PAY ME DIRECT - hampered first bend. Raced wide from the 1900 metres. Paced roughly near the 200 metres.
MR MIDNIGHT - hampered first bend.

NOVA TIME - held up final bend.
MICKEY JAY - reared and went through the barrier strand causing the field to be turned away. Sent to the unruly by the Starter. Stood down to trial satisfactorily on one occasion from a standing start.
PEGASUS KOMMANDER - reared prior to the start. Broke in the early stages.
JUNKYARD MASE - held up final bend and early stages of the run home.
BAILEYS KNIGHT - broke at the start losing ground. Broke briefly with 2000 metres to run. Authorisation of 2nd placing being awarded was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations at the start. Driver G Smith advised the gelding had paced roughly and was not comfortable in the prevailing track conditions.
RAINY RIVER - when questioned regarding the improved performance, driver K Cameron advised the gelding was suited by the slushy track conditions today and in his opinion this field was less competitive than previous races.
CLASSIE CULLECT - broke at the start.
NEARIS GREEN - held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.

CULLENS BAD GIRL - weakened badly from the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed slight lameness in the right hind leg. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the mare in the coming days.
CAVIAR STAR - held up by the tiring CULLENS BAD GIRL passing the 600 metres.
CAPITAL PLAN - paced roughly racing into the first bend and had to be steadied.
JINGLES BROMAC - back slightly at the start despite the efforts of driver R May. Weakened final bend.
MAAHES - cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.

WANDERING STAR - weakened badly from the 1000 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
PLAYBOY'S BROTHER - slow to begin. Broke with 1700 metres to run.
HOLLY TROUBLE - broke with 1100 metres to run.
GORILLA PLAYBOY - slow to begin.
TIJUANA TAXI - broke at the start and lost its chance.

FRANCO HAMPTON - slow to begin.
LAYTONS LASS - driver T Chmiel was spoken to advisedly for the manner he shifted ground near the 150 metres. Mr Chmiel reported he has unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the cord becoming entangled.
WOBBEGONG - tangled away. Held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight. Driver S McNally was warned to exercise care when shifting ground late in the run home.
BANK RAIDER - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MR WOODLEA - fractious prior to the start and tangled away. Awkwardly placed close to the sulky of LAYTONS LASS which shifted ground near the 150 metres.
PLAYBOY PRINCE - tangled away. Had to be restrained late in the run home when placed in restricted room by WOBBEGONG which shifted ground.

DIOS DEL FUEGO - shifted outwards at the start making contact with MAKE US GRIN.
MAKE US GRIN - tangled away. Contacted by inside runner shortly after the start.
VANDANTA - broke at the start. Raced wide final bend.
FRANCO HATTON - broke at the start.
MEGA WATT - held up early stages of the run home.
THE KINGPIN - had to be steadied near the 2100 metres after an easing of the pace. Lay inwards throughout the home straight.

IDEALAGAIN - held up for clear racing room in the home straight.
QUEEN OF GLORY - briefly placed in restricted room near the 150 metres when racing to the inside of SOUNDS LIKA GEM. Held up for clear racing room until late in the run home. Driver M Williamson reported the mare's deafeners were not activated.
LEADING THE WAY - held up for clear racing room in the home straight.
MAJOR FOUR - lay inwards in the run home.
RAH DE RAH - held up for clear racing room throughout the final straight. Driver J Cox reported the gelding's deafeners were not activated.
