1). Selected horses were subjected to pre race blood testing.

2). Driver D McCormick made himself unavailable to fulfil his engagements due to being unwell. (See summary for replacements)

3). Due to the St John Ambulance personnel attending to an on-course patron, Race 5 was rescheduled to start at 2.05pm.

Race 2 - TERROR TO LOVE AT PINELEA FARM MOBILE PACE
Trainer T Stratford advised Stewards on 4 October that BETTY BOO has had a brief freshener since its disappointing performance at Winton on 28 September and has recovered well. Mr Stratford felt that the mare may have choked down on that occasion and added that gear changes will be made before her next start.

MR MAJESTIC - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly at various stages throughout the running.
PRINCE GEORGE - broke briefly at the start.
STRATHMORES CHARM - broke at the start. Due to its recent indiscretions from behind the barrier this mare will now be drawn Unruly for future standing start events.
LUNDQVIST - broke after 200 metres. Broke again near the 600 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on this geldings racing manners record.
COCKTAIL WAITER - inclined to lay inwards and trot roughly throughout the run home and due to this was unable to be driven out with any vigor by driver B Williamson.
OVERCAST - weakened rounding the final bend after racing in the parked position throughout.
WHATASISTA - slow through the early stages.

LADY OF THE MOMENT - broke at the start and again negotiating the first bend, losing its chance.
OUR GRACIE - broke near the 1700 metres inconveniencing a trailing runner. Weakened from the 500 metres.
ED WOOD - broke at the start. Inconvenienced near the 1700 metres and broke shortly after losing several lengths. Broke again near the 650 metres losing its chance and was subsequently retired from the event.
SPUR ME ON GENTLY - broke shortly after the start losing its chance.
KO WRECTED - switched into a pace approaching the winning post on the first occasion and had to be checked by driver A Kyle.
LITTLE ROCKET - broke shortly after the start losing its chance.

JANUARY JONES - broke for a considerable distance rounding the first bend .
MOTU BELLE DU JOUR - held up through the middle stages of the run home.
LADY'S LASS - momentarily locked wheels with inside runner when negotiating the first bend.
JUST KT - hung inwards and paced roughly in the score up, resulting in this mare being out of position at the dispatch. Hung outwards and paced roughly when negotiating the first bend, locking wheels with LADY'S LASS.
MY BLUE HEAVEN - broke nearing the 1300 metres, shifting outwards and checking outside runners. A warning was placed on this mare's racing record.
BELLE OF BROOKLYN - severely checked near the 1300 metres.
ARIZONA DOLL - over-raced when being restrained in the early stages. Checked and forced to race wide nearing the 1300 metres.
LIS AMORE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver M Williamson. Weakened from the 500 metres. Co-trainer G Knight advised the mare had returned to the stable complex showing signs of muscle tie up. Mr Knight further advised he would have his personal veterinarian examine the mare in the coming days, which the Stewards will follow up.
MISS WAIKIWI - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S Tomlinson.

NORTHVIEW BONNIE - held up for clear racing room through the early stages of the run home. Driver S Tomlinson reported she had sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
SI SI SENOR - inclined to shift up the track when exiting the final bend.
FREEHOLD - broke at the start. Paced roughly through various stages of the event.
BETTOR OPTION - held up for the majority of the home straight with driver B Williamson reporting he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners on the gelding.
LAST HARAH - broke for a considerable distance after 150 metres, inconveniencing another runner. A warning was placed on this colt's racing record.
HANDSOME MAC - slightly inconvenienced exiting the final bend.
HIGHVIEW JUSTICE - inconvenienced near the 350 metres and forced wider on the track.
MISTY MEMORY - swung sideways as the start was effected and was slow to begin.
AKRIS - hung inwards when negotiating the first bend.
SHELBY BROMAC - broke near the 350 metres inconveniencing a trailing runner. Driver A Beck advised this was due to the gelding striking a knee.
AZTEC KING - hung severely negotiating the first bend before breaking and shifting inside track markers. This gelding was subsequently retired from the event with a warning being placed on its racing record.

ROCKNPOP - had to check outside a breaking runner exiting the final bend.
DANIELLE AMORE - trotted roughly at various stages during the running.
ANOTHER DELIGHT - broke at the start.
CLOVER LADY - weakened from the 400 metres then broke near the 250 metres.
JACCKA JOSH - trotted roughly and broke passing the 300 metres.
SUNDONS WISH - broke when being improved forward passing the 1400 metres.

VAN EVA - had to be steadied when placed in restricted room near the 50 metres.
FRANCO NIXON - held up throughout the run home with driver R Swain reporting he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable gear on the gelding.
GOT A BEAUTY - Junior driver M Anderson, after requesting senior driver D Dunn view all available films, admitted using his whip in an excessive manner over the concluding stages and was fined $300.00 by the JCA.
ANNIE FITZ - held up in the early stages of the run home.
NIGHTMARCH - restrained at the start. Held up in the early stages of the run home and shifted ground inwards to obtain clear running near the 50 metres with driver B Barclay reporting he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable gear on the gelding. Driver B Barclay was cautioned for the manner in which he shifted ground at this stage of the race.
HAPPY STYX - raced wide in the early stages prior to being restrained to obtain cover near the 1600 metres. Improved four-wide from the 600 metres then weakened from the 400 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance driver D Dunn expressed disappointment however could offer no tangible explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
LINDALI - held up throughout the run home with junior driver M Hurrell reporting he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable gear on the mare.
TANGLED UP IN BLUE - obliged to race three-wide without cover from the 1100 metres.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - improved wide rounding the final bend.
CANARDLY REMEMBER - held up throughout the run home going to the line without being fully tested by driver N Williamson.

KAGEE VC - hampered near the 1150 metres. Struggled to maintain its position with the field from the 700 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance driver M Williamson expressed disappointment with the effort however could offer no tangible explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities with Stewards to follow up the recovery in the coming days.
DELIGHT N GOLD - broke when negotiating the first bend.
THE HEART RULZ - well out of position at the dispatch despite the efforts of driver B Barclay. Paced roughly and broke briefly near the 1700 metres. Broke near the 1150 metres hampering a trailing runner and broke again near the 600 metres when under pressure, losing its chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have recovered well. Trainer B Gray reported the gelding would now be sent for a short spell. A warning was placed on its racing manners.
KANSAS CITY JIM - well out of position at the dispatch despite the efforts of driver R McIlwrick.

SOAPBOX - weakened from the 500 metres after receiving an economical trip. Driver M Williamson expressed disappointment with the performance however added today's race was a significant rise in class from the mare's recent racing. Stewards will follow the recovery of this mare up with trainer M Brown in the coming days.
JAYEDGAR - slightly out of position at the start.
TUHERBS TWO - raced in the parked position in the early and middle stages before weakening from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer S Matheson advised that the gelding was not suited to having to work during the running.
REPARTEE - weakened over the final stages.
FIERY FERRET - held up throughout the run home.
MIGHTY EMPIRE - raced keenly through the early stages.

MACANDREW MAJIC - over-raced in the middle stages.
A SMART EXCUSE - driver N Williamson reported a sulky tyre had deflated rounding the first bend.
IDEAL CONQUEST - over-raced when being restrained to take a trail near the 1500 metres. Held up by a tiring runner rounding the final bend. Treated by the on-course veterinarian following the event for swelling in the left carpal consistant with having struck its knee during the running. Trainer B Gray was advised that a veterinary clearance is required prior to IDEAL CONQUEST racing next.
BENIO BEN - raced keenly when leading through the middle stages. Commenced to tire from the 500 metres then hung inwards rounding the final bend placing driver M Williamson in some difficulty. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE - paced roughly exiting the final bend when striking a knee and broke shortly afterwards losing its chance.

GROOMSMAN - held up in the middle stages of the home straight.
MAN I'M GOOD - broke at the start and again approaching the first bend, caught the field then weakened over the concluding stages.
LEIGH MAJOR - held up in the early and middle stages of the home straight until near the 100 metres.
BALIUS - Pre-race warm up. Broke at the start.
PANTASTIC - broke at the start, caught the field then weakened over the concluding stages..

JETENARA - hung inwards and paced roughly entering the first bend. Weakened from the 400 metres.
WAYWARD ROC - forced to race four-wide near the 800 metres, then paced roughly shortly after.
SENORITA MARGARITA - improved three-wide with cover to race in the parked position near the 1300 metres then weakened from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer K Barclay reported that in her opinion the mare had been unsuited by working hard in the early stages to race parked and advised it would be the intention to have her driven for one run in future where circumstance permit.
