FATHER FRANK - broke after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners.

FIRST CLASS LADY - broke entering the first bend and shifted out checking SLYS SHADOW. Broke again passing the 800 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the filly.
BEJEWELLED - inconvenienced entering the first bend.
SLYS SHADOW - checked and broke entering the first bend. Caught three wide before restraining to the rear. Raced three wide from the 1400 metres. Locked wheels passing the 600 metres.
GREY SKIES - Trainer S Dickson was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the mare with an unwarranted sulky. Inconvenienced entering first bend. Locked wheels briefly near the 700 metres. Shifted out and then locked wheels again passing the 600 metres.
EXPRESS PLAY - inconvenienced entering the first bend.
SAVANNA - lay in and struck pylons rounding the final bend.
SHEER BLISS - inconvenienced entering the first bend.
TAMARA GOLD - locked wheels briefly near the 700 metres.

SLY ELEANOR - broke briefly entering the first bend. Paced roughly when shifted wider approaching the 800 metres. Checked and broke near the 550 metres losing its chance.

ALTA MAESTRO - Driver T Herlihy was cautioned for failing to be in position at the candy pole. Raced outside the leader throughout and failed to run on finishing in 6th place beaten 3.6 lengths. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Herlihy advised that he was disappointed with the run and felt the colt should have finished the race off in a stronger fashion. Trainer R Dunn advised that he would have blood taken and would contact Stewards accordingly.

SHADOW CAPTAIN - raced fiercely soon after the start pacing roughly for some strides. The gelding continued to race fiercely before choking down approaching the 1100 metres disrupting trailing runners before falling to the track. The race was stopped on the direction of the Stipendiary Stewards near the 300 metres acting under Rule 211A on the grounds of safety after SHADOW CAPTAIN could not be cleared from the track. SHADOW CAPTAIN underwent a veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. The gelding was subsequently stood down until it trials satisfactorily. Driver L Hollis was examined by the St Johns Ambulance personnel and cleared of any injury.

VALMARA - tightened briefly entering first turn.
GOTTA KEEPASECRET - unable to maintain its position late in the score up and was back a length at dispatch.
SMACKWATER JACK - tightened briefly entering first turn.
ACCUMULATOR - Junior Driver J Wallace was cautioned for the manner in which he shifted ground entering the first turn which momentarily tightened the ground of runners to his inside. Broke passing the 50 metres and was immediately restrained before settling short of the winning post. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
ITALIAN DELIGHT - lay in on straightening in the run home and had to be corrected.

DROVER'S EYRE - Junior driver J Mackinnon was cautioned for allowing his gelding to shift out under pressure in the run home.
IMAJOLLYWALLY - broke briefly at the start.
RALPH ELLIOTT - tangled for several strides at the start.
FLEETING GRIN - lay in and contacted pylons rounding the final bend.
RED MAGIC - broke briefly at the start.

DANKE - broke near the 200 metres losing its chance.
MONSEIGNEUR - broke at the start and trailed the field throughout.
PRIMUS INTER PARES - broke rounding the first bend and galloped for a considerable distance. Broke passing the 200 metres losing its chance.
TERESKOVA - checked and broke for several strides passing the 1800 metres. Held up final turn and early stages of the run home.
GREY STOKE - broke rounding the first bend losing considerable ground.
NOVEMBER GUY - slow out.

MCDAKNIFE - badly hampered entering the back straight the final time by a tiring runner.
SPARE CHANGE - commenced to give ground passing the 1100 metres and was retired from the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare had suffered an atrial fibrillation and was stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
SPRING CAMPAIGN - broke approaching the 1900 metres and settled at the rear of the field. A warning was placed on the horse's racing manners.

AGINCOURT - broke at the start and settled at the rear.
MAJESTIC STRIDE - underwent a veterinary examination after starting in the Exhibition Monte race earlier in the evening and was cleared to start.
DONNA MAY - broke briefly shortly after the start. Broke passing the 1700 metres.
SIR HENRY CASTLETON - broke briefly at the start.
SHARDON'S PEARL - broke near the 1400 metres losing all chance.
