Race 9 - ANTHONY SHEARER LTD 'ORDEAL TROTTING CUP' (MOBILE)
HABIBTI IVY - Trainer P Nairn has advised Stewards that after Veterinary consultation he has had the mares hocks injected. He reported the mare had worked well since and appeared to have taken benefit from the process in preparation for the Alabar DG Jones Memorial Trotting Cup at Motukarara on Sunday (1 October).

RUSSIAN EXPRESS - over-raced middle stages. Driver D Dunn advised the gelding had struck its footrest near the 1000 metres and proved difficult to control thereafter.
CHASE AUCKLAND - raced wide in the early stages until near the 1300 metres when taken forwards to race outside the leader.
SAUCHIEHALL - driver M Williamson advised that the mare had hung throughout.

SUNNY DEMON - weakened from the 500 metres.
HEAVENLY LOVE - broke after 200 metres. Broke again nearing the 2100 metres.
I'LDOITMYWAY - broke near the 1850 metres.
MONARCHY INVASION - broke after 200 metres. A final warning was placed on the gelding's racing record. Trainer C Butt reported it was his intention to make gear changes for its engagement at Motukarara on 1 October 2017. Held up by tiring runner near the 900 metres.
RUM IN THE SUN - driver K Butt reported the removable deafeners had not been activated.
LUNDQVIST - over-raced in the middle stages when positioned to the outside of the leader.
BRITE N LOVELY - weakened considerably near the 900 metres. A post-race veterinary examination showed the symptoms of ulcers which will now be treated.
HOLLY TROUBLE - broke near the 2100 metres.
STELLAR SUCCESS - held up near the 400 metres and had to shift ground outwards to continue to improve.
PRINCESS HARBOUR - weakened near the 700 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance trainer K James explained a virus had gone through his stable which the mare may have taken ill effect from and it was his intention to return the mare to the trials prior to resuming.
SHEER CLASS - began awkwardly and was slow as a result settling a considerable distance from the field.

BETTOR ASK ME - out of position at the candy pole. Driver M House was issued with a warning. Raced inside track markers entering the first bend when receiving some pressure from an outside runner. Held up on the final bend having to be restrained.
CARLEY MAGUIRE - out of position at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver R Houghton. Hung inwards when being taken forwards in the early stages crowding an inside runner. Weakened from the 500 metres.
MAD LU LI - proved difficult to move outwards to improve in the early stages of the run home.
 
Race 4THE CHRISTMAS HUT CLASSIC MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
BURNING RUBBER - over-raced when leading. Placed in restricted room near the 550 metres when surrendering the lead to the improving UNICO LEGEND having to be steadied in consequence.
BLACK ART - had to be steadied approaching the 500 metres due to a slight easing of the pace.
RED MOON RISING - when questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer G Smith explained his entire had endured a tough run at its most recent start when fresh up leading him to briefly spell the horse. He added that RED MOON RISING had derived benefit from that spell and trialled well in preparation.
GABBY'S STAR - raced wide from the 1000 metres. Weakened rounding the final bend.
QUITE IDEAL - raced wide early stages.
MISSINMEMATE - raced wide early stages. Shifted to a four wide position near the 1250 metres for a short distance. Weakened from the 600 metres.
SHINEONUCRAZYDIAMOND - had to be steadied approaching the 500 metres due to a slight easing of the pace. Held up in the early and middle stages of the run home having to be heavily restrained near the 100 metres.
REGAL MAJOR - had to be steadied approaching the 500 metres due to a slight easing of the pace.
RENSKE B - lay inwards nearing the 100 metres when under pressure.
UNICO LEGEND - shifted outwards near the 1250 metres and in doing so caused the improving MISSINMEMATE to be taken wider on the track. After speaking with drivers B Hope (assisted by G Hope) and B Munro (assisted by G Smith), Stewards were satisfied that Junior Horseman B Hope had driven in breach of the Push Out Rule and a warning was placed on his record. In taking this course of action Stewards were mindful of Mr Hope's inexperience. Mr Hope was further spoken to regarding the manner in which he crossed to the lead near the 550 metres which caused the stride of BURNING RUBBER to be shortened.
 
Race 5MITCHELL MACDONALD - BAYLEYS CANTERBURY MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
SANS LE SOU - restrained early stages. Held up rounding the final bend.
MR WOODLEA - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained.
THE KIWI WAY - raced roughly shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Again raced roughly near the 400 metres. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home. Trainer/Driver R Holmes advised he was disappointed with the horse's performance and that it had been hanging throughout. Stewards will follow up the recovery with Mr Holmes in the coming days.

BD LOVE - broke entering the home straight losing its chance.
DONSMEDAD - held up final bend.
GEE UP NEDDY - began awkwardly. Trotted roughly over the final stages. Driver C Jones was cautioned regarding the manner in which he used his whip throughout the final straight.
DONEGAL BETTORGRETCH - trotted roughly and switched into a pace shortly after the start having to be checked by driver D Dunn. Over-raced in the back straight on the final occasion.
SUNDONS FLYER - briefly hampered at the entrance to the home straight. Removed from the unruly for standing starts.
 
Race 7VERO HANDICAP PACEVideo  Video 
DONEGAL CARRICKFIN - broke on the first bend losing its chance. A post-race veterinary examination showed the gelding to have incurred wounds consistent with cross-firing and striking its knees and also some soreness to the wither region. Stewards will follow up with trainer K Ford in the coming days.
CHRISTOPHER BANNER - slow through the early stages.
BITE THE BULLET - broke briefly shortly after the start. Inconvenienced first bend.
ALPHA ROCK - weakened over the concluding stages. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver D Dunn explained it was the gelding's first up run after a freshen up and in his opinion had peaked on its run entering the final straight but felt the gelding would derive benefit from the outing.
 
Race 8EUROBLAST MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
READY TO RUMBLE - broke passing the 100 metres for approx 35 metres before settling and breaking again near the 30 metres and continuing on in a gallop across the finish line. As the horse had not galloped continuously for 50 metres inside the final 200 metres, Stewards sought the relegation of this runner to 3rd place alleging it had been lapped on by EDITORIAL. The connections did not contest the protest with READY TO RUMBLE being relegated to 3rd place by the JCA. A final warning was placed on the racing manners of this colt.
BUBBLE GUM - raced wide middle stages.
MANINTHEMIRROR - raced wide early and middle stages.
ACUTO - broke on the first bend nearing the 1600 metres.
DONEGAL DAVY BOYD - raced wide from the 1300 metres.
PADDINGTON CENTRAL - over-raced in the early stages and had to be steadied near the 1550 metres due to a slight easing of the pace. Held up by tiring runner on the final bend.
SUPREME BANNER - broke in the score up but was in its rightful position at dispatch. Weakened on the final bend.

TIME FOR DIAMONDS - broke at the start.
CARIBBEAN FIZZ - broke near the 2450 metres losing considerable ground. Held up final bend. Again broke near the 50 metres.
SHPEEDY - broke briefly near the 2450 metres. Weakened rounding the final bend.
UNIQUE MARSHALL - broke at the start losing all chance.
JERRY GARCIA - trotted roughly throughout the final straight.
IDLE MOOSE - checked at the start. Held up final bend.
REDWOOD INVASION - broke briefly nearing the 2000 metres. Broke again nearing the 1600 metres when challenging for the lead. Raced wide and without cover thereafter. Weakened rounding the final bend.
 
Race 10THE CARS UNDER $7990 PACEVideo  Video 
TAKITIMU EXPRESS - tangled away. Held up final bend.
HESTIA FRANCO - the over-check was removed prior to the start.
PARAVANI - broke at the start and lost all chance. Trainer J Curtin advised he would be restricting the gelding to mobile starts in the immediate future.
MAJOR FOUR - broke at the start and lost considerable ground.
ALL NUTS N BOLTS - briefly raced wider near the 1100 metres when positioned to the outside of the improving THE BUS which had commenced its run prior to this runner reaching its wheel.
ILDIVO - raced wide in the early stages until being restrained near the 1400 metres to race near the rear of the field.
