Race 9 - HILLSIDE ITM MOBILE PACE
Trainer K Cox advised Stewards on 24 September that following the mare's performance on 8 September at Rangiora, CAPITAL GIRL was found to be suffering from muscle tie-up which has since been treated.

Race 7 - AVON CITY FORD (NEW BRIGHTON) CUP (STANDING START)
Trainer C Dalgety advised Stewards on 21 September that ART UNION has recovered well followings its performance at Addington last Saturday and will continue its campaign in the Hannon Memorial on Sunday with the addition of sliding blinds.
Race 10 - BLUE STAR TAXIS MOBILE PACE
Stewards were advised on 20 September that a scope performed on AMAZON LILY revealed a dorsal displacement of the soft palate during the later stages of her work. The mare had previously had surgery for this issue. Co-Trainer T Barron added that a leather tongue tie and overcheck will be added to the mare's gear for its future racing.

Race 3 - RICHMOND CLUB PACE
The connections of VINTAGE BEACH advised Stewards on 22 September that the gelding has shown no ill-effects from its run at Methven and will continue with its current campaign. They felt that VINTAGE BEACH was not comfortable on the grass track and will be restricted to all-weather surfaces in its immediate starts.

MISSALYSSA - was slow early then broke losing its chance.
WINNIE MCGOOGAN - on return to the birdcage was found to be lame in the near fore. A veterinary clearance will be required before the mare's resumption.
MUSCLE PAT - broke at the start and failed to settle for a considerable distance.
STILL EYRE - broke after 200 metres and veered off the track losing all chance.
PARADISE SPUR - broke briefly with 1300 metres to run. Broke again with 900 metres to run losing all chance.
QUEEN OF LOVE - hung inwards on the home turn.
NO FEARS - trotted roughly in the home straight and was unable to be driven with any vigour, with driver G O'Reilly advising he did not activate the removable deafeners as a consequence.
REBEL KIBBYBONES - broke after 200 metres losing ground before settling.

SILENT SHADOW - broke after 200 metres losing ground before settling.
GREEN MACHINE - broke at the start and lost all chance.
THE KINGPIN - swung sideways and broke at the start losing ground.
SUPREME BANNER - stood on the mark. Checked and broke soon after the start losing its chance and was retired from the race.
BLUE RAIN - weakened from the 400 metres.
STILL OF THE NIGHT - hung inwards racing around the first bend.
SANDRA KEITH - broke at the start and then again broke after 200 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on this mare's racing manners.
AVEROSS FERRARI - removed from Unruly for future Standing Starts.

PRETORIUS - broke at the start. Trotted roughly approaching the 1100 metres.
LAUGH AND CRY - broke in the early stages. Broke with 600 metres to run and then again with 300 metres to run.
THE DOMINATOR - driver S McNally advised that he did not activate the removable deafeners.
TIJUANA TAXI - trotted roughly over the concluding stages with driver G O'Reilly unable to drive the horse out fully.
GORILLA PLAYBOY - stood on the mark and was slow. Inconvenienced briefly near the 1100 metres when having to be steadied.
MAJESTIC MOMENT - broke at the start but soon settled.

EJA PATRON - when questioned in regards to the improved performance trainer B Mowbray advised that the gelding is more suited when driven with cover and today was able to secure an economical run.
WESTAR SAM - held up on the home turn.

PLAYBOY'S BROTHER - over raced in the early stages.
EDEN CREEK - broke at the start.
JERRY GARCIA - trotted roughly and broke with 1600 metres to run. Broke again passing the 200 metres losing all chance.
DON'T LOOK BACK - broke at the start and trailed the field throughout.
WITHEZE - cast a shoe during the running.
DUSKY EYRE - hung inwards when improving with 1800 metres to run.

DEBNITA ROSE - when questioned in regards to the improved performance of this mare driver D Dunn reported that she had over raced at Addington when fresh-up and today with the addition of a tongue-tie had settled much better after securing the lead.
SHARNAE - briefly over raced through the middle stages.
DOUBLESIXBEACH - driver M Williamson reported that he was unable to activate the removable hood due to the cord becoming entangled.
MAAHES - hung inwards in the home straight.

PETITE ONE - broke in the early stages and over raced through the middle stages. Held up on the home turn.
SOL INVICTUS - broke at the start.
 
Race 8SOUTHERN WINES JUNIOR DRIVERS PACEVideo  Video 
The start was delayed due to SCARLETT BANNER refusing to come to its position and several runners becoming fractious. The start was further delayed after NERVE OF STEEL showed poor barrier manners.
TAKITIMU EXPRESS - held up on the home turn.
GRACEANDTEMIKA - Junior driver C Purvis advised that the removable ear plugs did not activate due to the cord becoming entangled.
FASTROUNDTOWN - weakened from the 600 metres.
NERVE OF STEEL - was sent to the unruly where it will remain for future standing starts. Refused to come up fully into position and reared as the start was effected and took no further part.
SCARLETT BANNER - was sent to the unruly after refusing to come to its barrier position. Very slow to begin and took no competitive part in the race. Stood down from standing start events until it has trialled satisfactorily on one occasion. Trainer G Smith advised that he would be removing the over check for future standing starts.
BETTOR'S HEART - Junior Driver M Hurrell advised that the hopple shorteners had failed to release despite his efforts.
MOTU SPEEDY STAR - raced three wide early.
 
Race 9PGG WRIGHTSON HANNON MEMORIAL FFA PACE (STANDING START)Video  Video 
The start was delayed when several runners became fractious and were reluctant to come forward onto the barrier.
SEEL THE DEAL - fractious at the barrier.
NEW YEARS JAY - broke at the start.
IMOLA - fractious at the barrier and broke at the start with a final warning being placed on this gelding's barrier manners. Shifted in final turn when driver G Smith was activating the deafeners and had to be corrected before racing roughly for several strides. Mr Smith advised that he would be making gear alterations in an attempt to cure the gelding's steering issues.
ALTA ORLANDO - fractious at the barrier. Broke at the start and lost all chance.
ART UNION - tangled briefly at the start.

HANNITY - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Over raced through the middle stages.
BLACK ART - broke at the start. Junior driver A Fitzgerald advised Stewards that he lost his whip with 200 metres to run.
BANK RAIDER - broke at the start.
PLAYBOY PRINCE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Over raced through the middle stages.
BOULTS ON FIRE - when questioned regarding the disappointing performance of this gelding Co-Trainer G Hope could only attribute the run to shoeing changes made recently which may have caused it to strike a knee today. Stewards requested a veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.
ALL ABOUT HENRY - broke at the start.
 
Race 11MORRISONS SADDLERY & FEED MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
HIGHLAND REIGN - out of position at the start. Junior driver C Purvis was warned to maintain her position until dispatch in the future. Paced roughly through the middle stages throwing its head around on occasions.
MISS ETHEL SUNSHINE - held up on the home turn.
MISSINMEMATE - when questioned regarding the improved performance of the gelding driver J Dunn advised that it was not suited to racing on the grass at Methven last start, adding that it will be restricted to all weather tracks in its immediate engagements.
