| Pre-race blood testing was carried out. Trainer M Jones advised Stewards that both SI SI SENOR (Race 2) and THE BUS (Race 4) had been mildly unwell yesterday but appeared to have recovered well overnight. Both runners underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and were cleared to race. |

When questioned regarding the gelding's efforts driver J Cox explained that in his opinion the gelding was coming to the end of its preparation. Trainer M Palermo advised that he would alter the training regime of the horse. | |

| PADDINGTON CENTRAL - weakened near the 400 metres. When spoken to regarding the gelding's performance, trainer A Stuart advised in hindsight the gelding may have benefited from another trial but felt that two, plus a workout would have been sufficient. He added that he anticipated the gelding would derive benefit from tonight's race. A post-race veterinary examination showed no abnormalities. | |
| SHEBANG - had to be steadied for a short distance passing the 800 metres when the pace in the running line eased. | |
| SI SI SENOR - hung throughout the score up and as a result was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the colt's mobile barrier record. | |

| MEDUSA - broke rounding the first bend. Trotted roughly and broke near the 100 metres. When questioned regarding the mare's disappointing performance, trainer K Cameron explained she had previously been prone to muscle tie up and expected that may well have occurred this evening despite clear blood tests and treatment during the week. Mr Cameron further added it was his intention to advise his drivers to give his mare only a very mild preliminary in an attempt to counter this condition. A post-race veterinary examination showed a slow recovery. Trainer K Cameron undertook to notify Stewards of anything which may come to light in the coming days. | |
