GIRLZ N BOYZ - held up early stages of the run home. Stewards questioned driver C McDowell regarding his decision to shift outwards on the bend near the 350 metres instead of waiting for the passing lane which was soon to become available. Mr McDowell explained that his mare was one paced and had previously not been able to capitalise on a passing lane run because of this. He added that in his opinion the leading SHOW OF FAITH was under pressure at this time and the outside runners (STILL EYRE and MICHELLE) were travelling better and more likely to take him into the race. After reviewing the films and considering his explanation no further action was taken.

THE GREAT REDEEMER - broke at the 1400 metres.
