Pre-race blood testing was carried out. Alcohol breath testing was conducted with all drivers providing clear samples. Race 7 was incorrectly advertised in many publications as being a Mobile Trot when in fact the event was programmed as a Standing Start, with this information being relayed through the appropriate channels. |

BETTORS ATOM - paced roughly and broke passing the 1800 metres. Driver C Ferguson reported that only one removable deafener had activated. | |
FLYING - paced roughly in the early stages. Hung inwards throughout the event placing Driver M Anderson in difficulty. Raced wide from the 1200 metres. Hung inwards passing the 400 metres becoming awkwardly positioned near the sulky wheel of GUNSLINGER BROMAC, and in consequence broke hampering the trailing MY NIKAYLA. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no clinical abnormalities. A final warning was placed against the filly's racing manners. Trainer B McIntyre advised that it would be his intention to freshen FLYING and make adjustments to its gear prior to resuming. | |
MAW OF A WOMAN - raced greenly shortly after the start then was obliged to race wide in the early stages. Over-raced for a distance through the middle stages. | |

HUNTER BROMAC - when questioned regarding the performance Driver J MacKinnon expressed disappointment with the gelding's effort however could offer no tangible explanation. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no clinical abnormalities, however it was the Veterinarian's recommendation that a Veterinary clearance be supplied prior to resuming. | |

ELUSIVE FLIGHT - broke during the early stages of the score up resulting in the gelding being several lengths back at dispatch. A warning was placed against the mobile barrier record of the gelding. Held up rounding the final bend and near the 250 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly positioned near the sulky wheel of ERROL FINN. | |
MACHIE MACH - raced inside pylons near the 1200 metres. Authorisation of dividends were withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the gelding had not obtained an advantage when racing inside pylons near the 1200 metres. Driver M Anderson was cautioned to ensure his sulky does not protrude inside the marker line. | |
SWEET AS - raced wide in the early stages. Held up for a distance passing the 400 metres. Stewards questioned Driver T Williams regarding the tactics he adopted near the 750 metres when electing to shift SWEET AS inwards as opposed to remain in the three-wide line and trail ERROL FINN (N Williamson) into the race. Mr Williams explained that he initially followed ERROL FINN three-wide near the 800 metres however recognized that horse was under pressure soon after and felt a better option would have been to follow the well supported BEVAN'S CULLEN (B Orange) who in his opinion was travelling more prominently at the time. Mr Williams further explained that if he had maintained his position behind ERROL FINN he would have had to shift the mare into a four-wide position for its finishing effort which he believed to be disadvantageous to his chances. After hearing Mr Williams explanation Stewards deemed his actions were not unreasonable given the circumstances therefore took the matter no further. | |
ERROL FINN - lay inwards rounding the bends throughout. Weakened on the final bend. Driver N Williamson reported he had difficultly steering the gelding on a number of occasions during the running. | |
BALIUS - held up round the final bend and throughout the home straight going to the line without being fully tested by its driver. | |
INNOCENT ARTIST - locked sulky stays with ELUSIVE FLIGHT near the 750 metres resulting in Driver D Dunn becoming unbalanced momentarily. | |
