General

Pre-race blood testing was carried out.

Alcohol breath testing was conducted with all drivers providing clear samples.

Race 7 was incorrectly advertised in many publications as being a Mobile Trot when in fact the event was programmed as a Standing Start, with this information being relayed through the appropriate channels.

Race 7 - PALAMOUNTAINS MOBILE PACE

Stewards have concluded their investigation into the driving tactics adopted by Driver A Suddaby, particularly near the 400 metres when electing to shift SHE'S A FLYIN from a trailing position outwards into the one-out line which in turn enabled clear running for ALEXY (B Orange). After questioning Mr Suddaby, reviewing the racing history of SHE'S A FLYIN and taking into account the results of a post-race veterinary examination of the mare it was determined that SHE'S A FLYIN had commenced to give ground approaching the 400 metres with Mr Suddaby electing to shift wider in the interests of safety. Although Mr Suddaby's explanation on this occasion was accepted, it was in the Stewards view that a shift inside the marker line would have been a more favorable option given his positioning in the field.

SHEEZAMONARCHY - held up for a distance passing the 350 metres.
PAT THE MONKEY - broke after 100 metres then again on a number of occasions during the running.
CUDDLY TROUBLE - broke at the start.
PURE EMOTION - broke at the start then again passing the winning post on the first occasion losing considerable ground.
TAIERI MISS - hung outwards throughout the home straight and was unable to be placed under any discernible pressure.

ROCK STOCK N BARREL - broke at the start.
FATHERDANTHERODEOMAN - raced wide in the early stages until being improved to a leading position near the 1600 metres.
J NINE - inconvenienced by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
IECHYD DA - broke at the start. Improved wide through the middle stages.
ASK YOURSELF - broke at the start. Hung inwards when placed under pressure passing the 150 metres and had to be steadied.
AFRO DIZZY YAK - held up in the early stages of the home straight until near the 100 metres.

PLAYBOY'S BROTHER - broke near the 300 metres when leading.
FEATHER BOYZ - lay inwards and broke near the 250 metres, then had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
PYRAMID MAGIC - broke briefly at the start.
BLAZING UNDER FIRE - shifted outwards throughout the home straight dictating POPPYMALDA wider over the concluding stages. Driver B Williamson was cautioned to ensure he makes a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the home straight. Trainer P Williamson indicated that he would be making gear adjustments in an effort to rectify the horse's tendency to shift outwards.
POPPYMALDA - hung inwards through the early stages. Dictated wider on the track over the concluding stages.

ll2vqNEsF_Q BETTORS ATOM - paced roughly and broke passing the 1800 metres. Driver C Ferguson reported that only one removable deafener had activated.
FLYING - paced roughly in the early stages. Hung inwards throughout the event placing Driver M Anderson in difficulty. Raced wide from the 1200 metres. Hung inwards passing the 400 metres becoming awkwardly positioned near the sulky wheel of GUNSLINGER BROMAC, and in consequence broke hampering the trailing MY NIKAYLA. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no clinical abnormalities. A final warning was placed against the filly's racing manners. Trainer B McIntyre advised that it would be his intention to freshen FLYING and make adjustments to its gear prior to resuming.
MAW OF A WOMAN - raced greenly shortly after the start then was obliged to race wide in the early stages. Over-raced for a distance through the middle stages.
MY NIKAYLA - attempted to improve its position passing the 500 metres before being hampered by a breaking runner near the 350 metres. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
ROSTRIEVER VICTORY - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room over the final 150 metres.
GUNSLINGER BROMAC - over-raced in the early and middle stages.
LORRETTA FRANCO - hung inwards and paced roughly shortly after the start. Held up over the concluding stages.

3wafotDMtRo HUNTER BROMAC - when questioned regarding the performance Driver J MacKinnon expressed disappointment with the gelding's effort however could offer no tangible explanation. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no clinical abnormalities, however it was the Veterinarian's recommendation that a Veterinary clearance be supplied prior to resuming.
MARTIN MCGUINNESS - held up rounding the final bend.
CAITLIN FRANCO - raced wide in the early stages.
URALLA SUE - declared a late scratching at 12.25 pm acting on veterinary advice.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - over-raced during the score up.
CELEBRITY EASTON - hung inwards in the early stages of the home straight and had to be steadied.
NERVE OF STEEL - improved wide through the middle stages.

Race 6	PHIL'S PAINTERS LTD MOBILE PACE Video
EsHiVhIIs2U TANGLED UP IN BLUE - hampered for a distance passing the 600 metres when trailing a weakening runner. Held up rounding the final bend, with Trainer/Driver N Williamson reporting that he did not activate the removable gear on the gelding due to this.
NEWMANS JET - Driver C Ferguson was spoken to regarding the use of his whip on a runner out of contention,
MISSY MACH - hampered for a distance passing the 600 metres when trailing a weakening runner. Held up over the final 100 metres.
HURRICANE BANNER - raced wide through the middle stages.
WAYWARD ROC - raced wide in the early stages. Weakened from the 600 metres, with a subsequent post-race Veterinary examination revealing no clinical abnormalities. Trainer T Stratford indicated that it would be his intention to spell the mare.

j_1aTxPGICo OCH AYE THE NOO - when questioned regarding the performance Driver K Cox could offer no tangible explanation however advised that the removable deafeners were unable to be activated due to the cord breaking.
GORILLA PLAYBOY - reared as the start was effected losing ground. Held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight until near the 100 metres.
NOBLE GAMBLE - broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground.
MIDNIGHT FEVER - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
I'LDOITMYWAY - hung inwards for a distance passing the 1800 metres.

7ButsN2eMmg MOTU SPEEDY STAR - paced roughly passing the 1800 metres.
ELUSIVE FLIGHT - broke during the early stages of the score up resulting in the gelding being several lengths back at dispatch. A warning was placed against the mobile barrier record of the gelding. Held up rounding the final bend and near the 250 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly positioned near the sulky wheel of ERROL FINN.
MACHIE MACH - raced inside pylons near the 1200 metres. Authorisation of dividends were withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the gelding had not obtained an advantage when racing inside pylons near the 1200 metres. Driver M Anderson was cautioned to ensure his sulky does not protrude inside the marker line.
SWEET AS - raced wide in the early stages. Held up for a distance passing the 400 metres. Stewards questioned Driver T Williams regarding the tactics he adopted near the 750 metres when electing to shift SWEET AS inwards as opposed to remain in the three-wide line and trail ERROL FINN (N Williamson) into the race. Mr Williams explained that he initially followed ERROL FINN three-wide near the 800 metres however recognized that horse was under pressure soon after and felt a better option would have been to follow the well supported BEVAN'S CULLEN (B Orange) who in his opinion was travelling more prominently at the time. Mr Williams further explained that if he had maintained his position behind ERROL FINN he would have had to shift the mare into a four-wide position for its finishing effort which he believed to be disadvantageous to his chances. After hearing Mr Williams explanation Stewards deemed his actions were not unreasonable given the circumstances therefore took the matter no further.
ERROL FINN - lay inwards rounding the bends throughout. Weakened on the final bend. Driver N Williamson reported he had difficultly steering the gelding on a number of occasions during the running.
BALIUS - held up round the final bend and throughout the home straight going to the line without being fully tested by its driver.
INNOCENT ARTIST - locked sulky stays with ELUSIVE FLIGHT near the 750 metres resulting in Driver D Dunn becoming unbalanced momentarily.
