Mr Williams advised the gelding had lay outwards on the point of the bend and instead of attempting to shift back inwards and lose momentum he continued to allow the horse to shift wider. Mr Williams added that he was aware the outside horses were improving sharply and he was conscious of being held up however once into the open the horse had been hampered shortly after and failed to respond to his urgings and proved disappointing. Stewards noted Mr Williams explanation and took the matter no further.
