AS KIWI AS - improved wide near the 500 metres. When spoken to regarding the gelding's performance, driver R Sissons explained he had been disappointed with the gelding's efforts inside the final 400 metres but was unable to offer any reasoning. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. | |
EJA PATRON - over-raced when being restrained in the early stages. When questioned regarding the gelding's performance, driver M Maynard could only advise his gelding had been under pressure through the back straight on the final occasion and he was disappointed with its efforts. Trainer B Mowbray advised the gelding had been unsuited to the fast time and the tempo the race had been run at. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. | |

CARIBBEAN FIZZ - broke passing the 250 metres. Again broke over the final stages and continued in a gallop across the finishing line. A protest was lodged against 4th placing alleging the mare had been lapped on by FIRA SUNSET and SAGE TROUBLE. The connections did not contest the protest and CARIBBEAN FIZZ was relegated to 6th placing by the JCA. | |
