Race 1HE'S WATCHING AT ALABAR TENDER CLOSES 31 AUGUST MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
JEMA JET - badly hampered by a tiring runner near the 700 metres.
STUNNING SHADOW - tired from the 700 metres. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Trainer D. McGowan advised that the gelding would not be persevered with as a racing proposition from his stable.
P TOMADO - Driver J. Abernethy was reprimanded for using his whip when out of contention.
JANET GUTHRIE - locked wheels briefly on the final turn.
KATE JACKSON - locked wheels briefly on the final turn.

CHAL SHOCKED - broke at the start losing several lengths. Held up rounding the final bend and over the early stages of the run home.
BETTORS POCKET - broke at the start losing ground.

There was a four minute delay to the start due to STALLBACKSKUNGEN requiring the services of the blacksmith.
OUR PETITE LADY - held up rounding the final bend.
MASTER MERLIN - broke approaching the 2400 metres losing ground. Broke again approaching the 400 metres losing its chance.
SAFFRON CASTLETON - broke passing the 2500 metres losing several lengths and broke again free of interference approaching the 400 metres and was noticeably lame on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination found the horse had suffered a broken pastern in the off hind and the mare was euthanised by the Veterinarian.
ANZAC - weakened over the latter stages finishing well back.
THE CROWN JEWELS - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Improved three wide from inside the final 800 metres and raced four wide rounding the home bend.

BANNER OF ART - Driver T. Macfarlane advised that the activation cord for the removable deafeners became tangled and malfunctioned when he attempted to activate them.
SLYS SHADOW - broke approaching the 1700 metres inconveniencing trailing runners. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners record.
MRS ZIPPY - checked off galloping runner's back approaching the 1700 metres. Inclined to lay in throughout the race and paced unevenly during the run home.
SPIRIT OF LOVE - checked approaching the 1700 metres due to a galloping runner.
 
Race 5MCMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video 
RED CASTLETON - held up rounding the final bend.
BLOOD AND WHISKY - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Trotted roughly inside the 200 metres.
SPEEDY LAVROS - broke at the start settling quickly. Trotted very unevenly inside the final 400 metres.
ANGUS BURGA - Driver P. Ferguson advised that he did not activate the removable deafeners on the winner.
BILLY AT SALSA - Driver A. Herlihy advised that he was unable to drive the gelding out to full advantage due to it trotting unevenly.
THE SCRUFF - broke approaching the 700 metres inconveniencing trailing runners.
SHAY SCOTT - broke the start losing ground. Inconvenienced by a galloping runner approaching the 700 metres.
MAKAREWA JAKE - broke approaching the 1900 metres losing considerable ground.
DANKE - held up rounding the final bend.
 
Race 6JACOBSEN HEADSTONES MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
SKY DIAMOND - raced three wide for the first 700 metres before improving to the one out without cover position. Gave ground quickly inconveniencing trailing runners from inside the 500 metres.
TACT OLLIE - Trainers P and V Blanchard were issued with a Minor Infringement Notice with a $100 fine imposed for presenting the gelding without the notified blinds. Inconvenienced by a tiring runner causing it to become unbalanced and gallop between the 500 metres and 400 metres, losing its chance.
SHANOCON - badly inconvenienced by tiring runner between the 500 metres and 400 metres.
SMACKWATER JACK - checked by a tiring runner between the 500 metre and 400 metre marks.
CLASSY CHAPEL - hung in the score up and was a length out of position at the start. Checked by a tiring runner between the 500 metre and 400 metre marks.
THREE KISSES - Junior Horseman A. Drake was warned in regard to the manner he drove the mare into the first bend when improving inward from four wide to a two wide position placing runners to his inside in tight quarters. Stewards also questioned him as to why he had not activated the hopple shorteners on the mare which won the event. He advised he was instructed by the Trainer to leave them in and only activate them if he thought it was necessary.

TERESKOVA - broke shortly after the start and galloped for a distance, losing ground before settling. Improved forward three wide until reaching the one out without cover position passing the 1500 metres.
GEORGE - removed from the unruly from standing starts.
LOVELY BUNDY - removed from the unruly from standing starts.
SUNSET PEAK - held up rounding the final bend and throughout the run home.

There was a three minute delay to the start due to an unattended vehicle being left at the 50 metre mark on the edge of the inside of the track.
CHEROKEE WARRIOR - held up rounding the final bend.
SPRING CAMPAIGN - forced to race wide rounding the home bend and into the home straight.
 
Race 9NISBA WINTER BONUS SERIES FOR FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
KAITLYN - trailed the leader but failed to run on to finish in 5th place, beaten 8.7 lengths. When questioned regarding the performance Driver T. Macfarlane could offer no explanation for the disappointing run. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
PAKIPAKI - inclined to shift wider on the track during the run home when in the lead clear of other runners.
