Trainer R Holmes has advised Stewards that blood tests taken from GABBY'S STAR following its disappointing performance at Addington last week have revealed a low lymphocyte level with this being treated.

BETTOR BACKIM - held up for the majority of the home straight.
LIVING LEGEND - driver M Stratford, assisted by Senior Horseman J Cox, admitted a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) in that he used his whip excessively inside the final 400 metres. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $450. When spoken to regarding the improved performance, trainer B Negus advised the gelding had been racing without luck in recent starts and felt with natural improvement a forward showing was expected tonight.
MARKIM - held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
BISHOP BRIAN - broke approaching the first bend and raced greenly shifting outwards checking several runners. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an abrasion to the off hind bumper.
SHARKNADO - checked racing into the first bend losing its chance and being retired from the event.
SMOOTH MARA - checked racing into the first bend losing its chance and being retired from the event.
ZAKSPATROL - no claims lodged. Checked racing into the first bend with driver R Reekie being dislodged from the sulky. Mr Reekie was examined by St John Personnel and stood down from driving until a medical clearance is supplied after suffering a hip injury.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - no claims lodged. Driver M Maynard was shown a replay and warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
RUSSIAN EXPRESS - driver A Edge admitted a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) in that he used his whip excessively inside the final 400 metres. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $300.
GOT A BEAUTY - late scratching at 2.30pm on veterinary advice.
RED UNDER FIRE - held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight.

URALLA SUE - the boring pole was removed prior to the start after warming up unfavourably. Held up final bend.
STONEBRIDGE CULLEN - denied clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
SHARDS HALO - had to shift ground near the 250 metres when held up by a weakening runner.
VERDUN - broke for a short distance at the start. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. Raced three wide in the early stages until being taken forwards to race outside the leader near the 1400 metres. Weakened on the final bend. Stewards questioned driver A Fitzgerald regarding the tactics he adopted on this runner. Mr Fitzgerald explained that after the horse had broken at the start it had been his intention to obtain cover towards the rear of the field however his mare had over-raced causing him difficulty. Mr Fitzgerald added that he then elected to allow the horse to improve forwards three wide in an attempt to make it race more tractably however this had not eventuated until immediately prior to his horse weakening. After considering his explanation and reviewing the films no further action was deemed necessary.

DON'T ROCK THE BOAT - raced roughly in the early stages and had to be steadied.
GIRLZ N BOYZ - broke at the start for a short distance.
SWINGING - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened from the 700 metres.
FAMILY NIGHT - hung inwards and raced roughly under pressure on the final bend. Continued to trot roughly in the home straight.
IZMOK - trotted roughly near the 1900 metres. Raced roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be driven out in consequence.
PASTRANA - broke near the 1900 metres losing all chance.
THANK U GEORGE - raced roughly in the early stages and had to be steadied in consequence. Broke near the 200 metres.
STILL EYRE - held up for a brief period passing the 200 metres.

ENGLISH ROSE - broke racing into the first bend losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing record.
TAKE AFTER ME - hung outwards near the 700 metres.
TRAILER PARK GIRL - paced roughly near the 900 metres losing ground.
SPORTSCASTER - paced roughly shortly after the start. Over-raced in the middle stages. Checked near the 700 metres when runners either side shifted ground. Weakened on the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. When spoken to regarding the gelding's performance driver D Keast explained he had settled further forwards than he had anticipated due to his horse over-racing. He added that SPORTSCASTER was unsuited to racing in an uncovered position and felt the horse would improve when able to be driven with cover.
JOEY MAGUIRE - over-raced for a distance near the 900 metres. Broke near the 800 metres when hampered by PEMBROOK IDEAL which was being restrained in an attempt to obtain the trail. Shifted inwards near the 700 metres placing SPORTSCASTER in restricted room. Junior Driver L McKay in the presence of Senior Driver S Ottley was warned to exercise care when shifting ground. Miss McKay was also cautioned for the manner she drove near the 600 metres when trailing the sulky wheel of PEMBROOK IDEAL.
PEMBROOK IDEAL - hung inwards on the bend near the 1100 metres when being taken forwards to race outside the leader. Junior driver B Laughton, in the presence of Senior Horseman J Dunn was spoken to advisedly for the manner he eased his runner near the 800 metres when attempting to shift inwards to a trailing position which required those runners trailing to be hampered.

CHRISTMAS TOYBOY - raced fiercely through the back straight on the final occasion then ran wide on the final bend when weakening appreciably. Driver S McNally advised the gelding had choked down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
STILL OF THE NIGHT - hung inwards in the early stages and for a short distance was awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of CHRISTMAS TOYBOY. Raced wide until being restrained to the rear of the field near the 2100 metres. Hampered passing the 600 metres by a weakening runner. Struck pylons leaving the final bend. Driver D Keast was spoken to advisedly. Broke passing the 200 metres.
YUKON CLOUD - weakened near the 600 metres. A final warning was placed on the mare's racing performance.
SI SI SENOR - driver M Jones was cautioned for the manner he drove near the 250 metres when shifting his horse inwards crowding the racing room of other runners.
BOOMER - trainer J Parsons was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after the gelding was presented with blinds which had not been notified. Broke passing the 200 metres. A post-race veterinary examination showed a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with the connections in the coming days.
THE TIN SOLDIER - paced roughly near the 150 metres.
STOPPITT - hung inwards on the bend near the 1600 metres. Hampered passing the 600 metres by a weakening runner.
BONNIE MOLLY - hampered passing the 600 metres by a weakening runner.

AVEROSS RUSTLER - over-raced for a distance passing the 1500 metres. Weakened final bend.
ARTHUR LOWE - briefly hampered in the early stages of the run home.
HOTDIGGETTYCULLEN - held up on the final bend. Driver C DeFilippi was questioned regarding his decision not to improve outwards passing the 600 metres. Mr DeFilippi explained it had been his intention to shift wider however the four wide and improving HAYLEY NICOLE had quickly advanced to the outside of KARDESLER which was improving three wide, meaning he was unable to continue to shift outwards without causing interference and had consequently been forced to restrain and maintain his position in the two wide line. After considering Mr DeFilippi's explanation Stewards took the matter no further.
FRANCO TAI - briefly hampered in the early stages of the run home.
KARDESLER - hung inwards in the early stages of the run home hampering inside runners prior to being corrected by driver R Payne.
BRIDGET BLUE CHIP - held up on the final bend.
LOCKED OUT OF HEAVEN - weakened near the 500 metres.
ONE DIRECTION - late scratching at 8.45am on veterinary advice.

ROCKI WARRIOR - driver S Ottley was cautioned for trailing the wheel of SANS LE SOU passing the 1300 metres.
THISISMYLASTFLIGHT - broke at the start. Held up for clear racing room in the home straight. Driver C Thornley reported he did not activate the removable deafeners.
PAY ME ART - broke in the early stages.
GLENFERRIE CLASSIC - broke at the start. Broke passing the 900 metres losing ground.
BITE THE BULLET - inconvenienced at the start.

CULLENMORE - raced keenly early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.
THE DORCHESTER - hung inwards when improving round the field near the 1000 metres losing momentum. Hung inwards and raced greenly throughout the home straight.
BENHOPE RULZ - shifted outwards approaching the 50 metres before being corrected.
CRAFTY CULLEN - over-raced in the early stages.
ROCK STOCK N BARREL - Trainer A Hoffman was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after the mare was presented without the notified sliding blinds.

UNIQUE MARSHALL - broke at the start. Broke on the final bend.
RUM IN THE SUN - over-raced middle stages.
STAR PRIDE - broke at the start. Over-raced middle stages.
MONARCHY INVASION - broke near the 150 metres.
ELVIS P - raced wide in the early stages.
RUSTY I AM - unable to obtain clear racing room throughout the run home. Driver P Wakelin advised the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence.
CUDDLY JESS - denied clear racing room late in the run home.
HEY YO - held up throughout the run home.

FRANCO NATE - driver S Ottley was warned to make a greater effort to prevent the gelding from shifting wider on the track leaving the final bend.
HANDLEBAR HANK - held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
THE KAIK - held up for clear racing room until late in the home straight. Driver C Jones was questioned regarding the tactics he adopted near the 1600 metres when electing to shift inwards to a position three back on the marker line. Mr Jones explained the gelding had a hard run first up last week when racing wide from the 700 metres and was of the opinion he would be better suited following FRANCO NATE and TAKITIMU EXPRESS which had both raced handy at their previous starts. He added that in his opinion the parked DAYLIGHT ROBBERY was likely to surrender that position if challenged in the middle stages which would have led to him being shuffled further back in the field. The explanation of Mr Jones was accepted.
MISSINMEMATE - when spoken to regarding the gelding's performance, trainer B Hill advised he had made gear changes since its most previous start and the gelding had been performing well at recent trials.
CELEBRITY EASTON - out of position at the start. Driver S Payne was issued with a warning.
TAKITIMU EXPRESS - struck a pylon leaving the final bend. Stewards spoke with driver K Butt (assisted by Senior Horseman J Cox) regarding the manner she drove leaving the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. After hearing from Miss Butt, Stewards adjourned the matter for further consideration. When spoken to regarding the performance of the gelding, trainer J Cox reported the horse may be feeling the effects of recent racing and would now be freshened.
ASK ME ART - broke passing the 200 metres.
TOLL GATE - Trainer J Howe charged a $25 colour fee. Hung inwards on the first bend and struck several pylons.
