Trainer R Todd has informed Stewards that HOPEFUL HARRIET has shown no ill-effects from its run at Addington last Friday and has continued to work pleasingly in preparation for its engagement on Friday night.

Driver J Morrison (TOP BRASS) was reminded of his obligations to ensure he drives his horse fully to the finishing line when circumstances permit.
Race 7 - PALAMOUNTAINS MOBILE PACE
Driver M Williamson (OKAINS BAY) was cautioned regarding the manner in which he shifted ground near the 250 metres which resulted in firm contact being made with the sulky of HUNTER BROMAC.

MAGNAFIQUE - broke entering the first bend. Trotted roughly and weakened from the 500 metres.
RUSTY I AM - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Hampered first bend. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed soreness in the lower back region. Stewards will follow up the gelding's recovery with the connections in the coming days.
GOODTIME GAMBLE - hung inwards in the score up and was back a length at the start. Broke entering the first bend and failed to settle for a considerable distance.
SUNNY BILL - commenced to weaken near the 300 metres. Broke near the 200 metres. Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horse Regulations against 5th placing for breaking in excess of 50 metres inside the final 200 metres. The connections did not contest the protest and SUNNY BILL was disqualified by the JCA.
GREENANWHITE - hampered first bend.
DONSMEDAD - held up near the 400 metres.
CRADDOCK - broke passing the 600 metres. Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horse Regulations against the promoted 5th placing in that the gelding broke in excess of 150 metres. The connections did not contest the protest and CRADDOCK was disqualified by the JCA.
Trainers P Wakelin and S Noble have advised Stewards that following its disappointing performance at Addington on Friday night, RUSTY I AM was found to have a displaced vertebrae and associated muscle soreness with treatment to be undertaken this week.

GUNPOWDER - hung outwards in the score up and was back slightly at the start. Driver L Lester reported she sustained a punctured sulky tyre on the final bend.
LE VADO - gave ground final bend. Driver J Dunn reported the filly would no longer be persevered with as a racing proposition from their stable.
ESPECIAL - hung inwards and paced roughly rounding the final bend. Paced roughly over the concluding stages.
OUR QUINN - raced wide until near the 1400 metres.
FRANCO TAI - held up rounding the final bend until near the 250 metres. Held up over the concluding stages. Driver R Close reported he did not activate the removable deafeners. Driver R Close admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 400 metres when striking and puncturing the sulky wheel of GUNPOWDER. After viewing films and hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $250.
PAUL'S VERDICT - raced wide in the early stages until near the 1200 metres.
PAT CAMPBELL - held up by tiring runner on the final bend.

TAKE AFTER ME - held up rounding the final bend until near the 200 metres. Stewards questioned junior driver A Stewart, in the presence of senior horseman R Holmes, regarding the tactics she adopted on the final bend when electing not to improve her position outwards when an opportunity existed. After considering the matter Stewards advised Miss Stewart that she had erred in her judgement by not improving wider near the 400 metres however after taking into account her relative inexperience, she was reprimanded and advised she must not drive in a manner which will leave her open to query.
IODEAN - hung inwards rounding the final bend. Gave ground from the 400 metres.
PORT HANOVER - held up final bend. Driver R Houghton reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
HARD DAYS NIGHT - raced wide early stages.
DAYLIGHT ROBBERY - hung outwards in the early stages of the score up and paced roughly after making contact with the sulky of SPIRIT OF DELIGHT. Raced wide throughout.
SPIRIT OF DELIGHT - hampered early stages of the score up. Paced roughly and was out of position at the start.
REAZA GRUNTER - crowded in the early stages of the score up. Out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Orange. Held up final bend.
ELITE EXCUSE - weakened from the 300 metres.

LETSGOTOTHEHOP - hung inwards through the early stages. Paced roughly and broke near the 300 metres with driver J Cox reporting the gelding had been hanging and striking a knee. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
GABBY'S STAR - held up round the final bend.
ACE HIGH - late scratching at 11.00am on veterinary advice.
GIMMEGOLD - checked by LETSGOTOTHEHOP near the 300 metres.
 
Race 5DARREN DEFILIPPI MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video 
REDWOOD INVASION - broke briefly near the 1400 metres when hampered. Held up by a weakening runner near the 500 metres then broke briefly passing the 400 metres.
DANIELLE AMORE - began awkwardly. Driver R McIlwrick reported that one removable deafener had failed to activate.
FLYINOVA - broke shortly after the start and failed to settle for a considerable distance.
STAR PRIDE - briefly locked wheels with WOT UP near the 1400 metres resulting in REDWOOD INVASION being checked. Driver A Stewart was spoken to advisedly.
RUM IN THE SUN - broke at the start. A Request for a Ruling was lodged with the JCA by driver J Morrison after he believed he had been denied a fair start. After viewing the films and hearing submissions from J Morrison and Stewards, RUM IN THE SUN was declared a runner.
JEAN SEBASTIEN - broke near the 2100 metres. Driver J Markham will be spoken to regarding the manner he drove in the home straight.
WOT UP - briefly locked wheels with STAR PRIDE near the 1400 metres. Weakened from the 500 metres.
HE'S LIKE THE WIND - Driver L Lester who declined the assistance of a senior horseman, admitted a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) which alleged she used her whip excessively inside the final 400 metres. After viewing the films and hearing submissions on penalty the JCA suspended Miss Lester's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 21 July 2017 (3 days).
LORD ROYDON - when questioned regarding the performance driver S Tomlinson reported that the gelding had felt indifferent in its action over the final 300 metres. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination which revealed soreness in the hip region. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with the connections in the coming days.
Junior driver J Markham (assisted by Senior Horseman G O'Reilly) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) in that he used his whip excessively inside the final 400 metres when driving JEAN SEBASTIEN. After viewing the films and hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Mr Markham's licence from the conclusion of racing at Rangiora HRC on 9 July 2017 up to and including 16 July 2017 (3 days).

WAR HORSE - over-raced in the early and middle stages. Locked wheels with MORDECAI near the 40 metres.
JODY DIREEN - over-raced in the middle stages.
MORDECAI - held up over the concluding stages and locked wheels with WAR HORSE near the 40 metres.
EL CAPITAN - raced wide in the early stages until near the 1200 metres.
ART EXHIBIT - weakened final bend.

RONALD J - trotted roughly and broke passing the 100 metres and continued in a break over the finishing line. Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horse Regulations against 1st place being awarded to the gelding on the grounds that the horse had broken in excess of 50 metres inside the final 200 metres of the race. The connections did not contest the protest and RONALD J was disqualified by the JCA.
ARRAN CHIEF - trotted roughly in the home straight.
PYRAMID MONARCH - gave ground final bend.
HARRYSUL - raced wide in the early stages until near the 1400 metres. Trotted roughly early stages of the home straight.

ALPHA ROCK - driver D Dunn will be spoken to regarding the manner he drove in the home straight.

MANINTHEMIRROR - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Driver S Ottley reported one blind had failed to activate.
SOUTHBROOK STAR - raced greenly in the early stages and hung inwards and broke briefly.
DON'T TELL ANGE - held up for clear racing room until late in the run home.
WESTY RANGER - raced wide in the early stages.
CHRISTIAN WHO - held up final bend.
