DANCE TIME - paced roughly for several strides passing the 150 metres. Driver D. Butcher advised that the gelding had raced greenly early in the run home before finishing on well once balanced up.

SPIRIT OF LOVE - held up early final turn.
SOLE DELIGHT - tired badly from the 400 metres. A warning was placed on this filly's race performance.
MY GIRL BRIGADE - raced greenly throughout the event and in particular in the run home before galloping for several strides after contacting the sulky wheel of GOTTA MOMENT near the 70 metres when disappointed for a run. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners record.
INNER LIGHT - lay in passing the 1000 metres when trailing the leader, contacting several marker pegs.
TERE THE TERMINATOR - paced roughly early and again passing the 1500 metres. Broke near the 500 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed against this colt's racing manners.
VIEWFIELD GNAT - paced roughly in the early stages losing ground. Broke passing the 350 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners record.

TORBJORN - trotted roughly and was unable to maintain the leader's back approaching the 1200 metres. Broke approaching the 1000 metres and was pulled up.
GERSHWIN - broke passing the 2400 metres and continued on in a gallop for a considerable distance before settling at the rear of the field. Hampered passing the 800 metres by a breaking runner. A Protest was lodged against this gelding's second placing under Rule 870(3) on the grounds that it broke in excess of 150 metres on the first turn. After viewing the replays and hearing the relative evidence the JCA dismissed the Protest with placings being duly authorised. In handing down their decision the JCA indicated that they were satisfied that GERSHWIN had regained its proper gait for several strides near the 2300 metres before galloping again.
LUCKY FORTUNE - stood on the mark before rearing and falling to the track. This gelding underwent a veterinary examination following the event which revealed minor skin abrasions. A warning was placed against the gelding's standing start barrier manners record and it was placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the trainer's request.
PRINCESS MACKENDON - hampered passing the 800 metres by a breaking runner.
KD HALL - underwent a veterinary examination after displaying a slow recovery and required treatment by the veterinarian.

ELLA'S SPEED - held up for clear running until near the 50 metres. Driver S. Lawson reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners.
THE HULK - raced three wide from the 1750 metres when unable to secure the position outside the leader. Commenced to give ground passing the 500 metres. An investigation was held into an incident inside the 1800 metres where THE HULK raced four wide briefly after ARETHUSA SPUR shifted ground outwards. It was established that ARETHUSA SPUR had commenced to shift prior to THE HULK covering its sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.
SIR HENRY CASTLETON - broke approaching the 2300 metres losing all chance.
SAINT MICHEL - held up early on the final turn and over the initial stages of the run home before working clear near the 150 metres. Driver K. Marshall advised that he did not activate the removable deafeners.
ROI DES GITANS - hampered briefly approaching the 400 metres.
ROYAL WILLIE - raced three wide from the 1300 metres. Driver D. Butcher advised that he sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 800 metres.
PRECIOUS MOMENT - Trainer S. Argue was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 for presenting the mare to race with the incorrect saddle cloth number. Broke over the early stages losing ground before settling at the rear. Trotted roughly approaching the 400 metres when attempting to shift another runner wider. Junior Driver R. Argue, assisted by Senior Horseman S. Argue, was shown the replay and cautioned for the manner in which he attempted to shift ground in this incident.

PLAYFUL PRIDE - shifted out after the start crowding outside runners. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages when leading.
THE REV - hampered after start. Broke shortly after the start losing its chance. Broke passing the 800 metres.
SECRETOFTHESEA SMILE - hampered after start.
ANGUS BURGA - hampered after start. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running early in the home straight.
HALLEY'S LAST - fractious when called forward onto the barrier, swung inwards and was slow to begin. Broke passing the 800 metres.
