Stable representative K Butt has informed Stewards that veterinary tests performed on JUNGLE GEM following its disappointing performance on Sunday at Addington have revealed no irregularities. Miss Butt was of the opinion that the filly did not handle the prevailing track conditions adding that she has worked pleasingly this week in preparation for her engagement at Timaru this weekend.
Race 5 - SPEIGHTS TROT
Trainer S Smolenski has advised Stewards that following its disappointing performance at Addington last Sunday, blood tests were taken from MAJESTIC MOMENT which were clear of any abnormality. Mr Smolenski added that the gelding ran a good 2nd at trials midweek and will have some gear changes for Sunday's engagement at Timaru.

Stable representative J Dunn has advised Stewards that BITE THE BULLET has shown no ill-effects from its run on Sunday at Addington and will continue with its current preparation.

FAMILY NIGHT - trotted roughly at various stages throughout the running. Weakened from the 400 metres before breaking losing its chance.
ASH - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at dispatch. Slow through the early stages. Trotted roughly passing the 100 metres before breaking losing its chance.
SUNRISE SPUR - hung outwards shortly after the start. Hampered by a breaking runner final bend.
DI'Z LUCK - was inclined to lay outwards throughout the running. Shifted up the track over the concluding stages.
ELVIS P - broke briefly after 100 metres losing ground.

DALNESS ARIZONA - broke shortly after the start losing ground with a warning placed on the gelding's barrier record. Continued to race in a lethargic fashion and took no competitive part in the race. The connections advised that they will be reassessing the gelding's racing future.
FOR THE CORZ - raced fiercely in the score up and broke as the start was effected with a warning placed on the filly's barrier record. Continued to over-race throughout.
OUT OF ACES - late scratching at 4.58pm on veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.

DAYLIGHT ROBBERY - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
PIRATE BAY - over-raced early stages. Lay inwards throughout the home straight.

WESTY BOYZ - broke nearing the 600 metres.
MAGNAFIQUE - trotted roughly rounding the final bend. Continued to trot roughly in the home straight.
RUM IN THE SUN - broke shortly after the start and continued in a break for a considerable distance. Authorisation of 5th place was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages.
UNIQUE MARSHALL - broke nearing the 900 metres and was retired from the event.
RONALD J - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
SUNNY BILL - broke near the 250 metres.
BACARDI N COKE - trotted roughly rounding the final bend before breaking near the 250 metres.
MEDUSA - trotted roughly in the score up and was slightly out of position at dispatch. Broke nearing the 450 metres. Trotted roughly in the home straight.

PORT HANOVER - hung outwards in the score up and broke checking outside runner which in turn disrupted runners drawn to its outside. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
EARTHQUAKE - hampered in the score up.
HARD DAYS NIGHT - hampered in the score up. The near-side rein pricker detached during the running.
GUNPOWDER - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced wide early stages.
BOBBY T - paced roughly and weakened final bend.
HOPEFUL HARRIET - paced roughly passing the 700 metres then broke briefly passing the 600 metres. Held up final bend. Continued to pace roughly in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed sensitivity to its hocks and the possibility of the mare suffering from ulcers. Stewards will follow up with trainer R Todd in the coming days.
ILDIVO - hampered in the score up. Over-raced middle stages. Hung inwards final bend.
OUR QUINN - hampered in the score up. Held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight.

KINGDOM COME - driver J Smith reported that he sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
STYLISH DUKE - broke shortly after the start. Weakened from the 500 metres.
IDLE MONKEY - slow to begin.
JAYCEEKAY - weakened from the 500 metres.
DONEGAL BETTORGRETCH - broke near the 900 metres. Driver D Dunn reported that the mare had hung outwards abruptly at this stage.
ARRAN CHIEF - Driver A Faulks defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 300 metres by allowing ARRAN CHIEF to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of GOLDEN GATE which was checked and in turn broke. After considering the evidence tendered by Stewards and Mr Faulks along with viewing all video replays, the JCA found the charge proven and in consequence suspended Mr Faulks horseman's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including the Forbury Park TC's meeting on 13 July 2017 (4 days).
