1). After remedial work being carried out by the club following the first day's racing the track was presented in a vastly improved condition with this being evidenced by the race times recorded.

2). Selected horses on today's programme were subjected to pre race blood testing.

Trainer J Cox has advised Stewards that IT'S ALL OVER NOW has recovered well since its disappointing run at Richmond on Friday adding that if possible the mare will be driven with a sit today.

LUMINOSITY - displayed poor barrier manners.
ALI LINDENNY - tangled away. Was inclined to shift up the track over the concluding stages despite the corrective action of Driver C Thornley. When spoken to in regards to this Mr Thornley advised that the filly was inclined to lay out racing through all the straights and in his opinion this was due to the nature of the track.
MR FAHRENHEIT - shifted outwards over the concluding stages.
DRAGON BOY - broke at the start. Broke again with 1700 metres to run.
RARANGI OPAL - hung inwards and broke nearing the 150 metres.
GIRLZ N BOYZ - dictated outwards and had to be steadied over the concluding stages. Stewards questioned Driver C McDowell as to the reason he elected to shift outwards exiting the final bend as opposed to waiting and utilising the passing lane. Mr McDowell advised that he was conscious that he would have difficulty steering the mare down into the passing lane and when the opportunity presented itself for him to improve outwards exiting the final bend he felt this was his best option given the circumstances. Stewards accepted Mr McDowell's comments and took the matter no further.
MUCHACHA BONITA - tangled away. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
 
Race 2NJ BUSINESS SERVICES LTD / DOWNER NZ MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
JEMIMA FRANCO - held up on the home turn.
REBEL RICHIE - hung inwards in the home straight.
COMMAND LUSTRE - hung inwards exiting the final bend when under pressure. Continued to hang inwards throughout the run home losing considerable ground.
GOT A BEAUTY - held up rounding the final bend. Paced roughly nearing the 150 metres.
BEACH SKIPPER - boring pole was removed at the start.

SHADOWMAN - tangled away.
TRULY MYSTERIOUS - hung outwards negotiating the first bend and paced roughly near the 1700 metres. Driver R Holmes advised that he had difficulty steering the mare throughout the event.
PLAYINGINTHESHADOWS - broke shortly after the start before settling then breaking again for some distance. A warning was placed on its barrier manners record. Authorisation of second placing being awarded to PLAYINGINTHESHADOWS was withheld until such time stewards had viewed all available films and ascertained the gelding had not breached the Breaking Horse Regulations through the initial stages.
NATASHA FRANCO - weakened rounding the final bend.
J NINE - slow through the early stages. Weakened considerably from the 400 metres. Driver B Orange advised the entire had felt lethargic throughout and he was disappointed with its efforts. A subsequent post race veterinary examination revealed no clinical abnormalities with Stewards to follow up the recovery with Trainer P Court in the coming days.
NUI BA DEN - raced in the parked position for the majority of the event before weakening nearing the 500 metres.
RAFA NOVAK - weakened concluding stages. Driver J Cox advised that the gelding had hung badly throughout the race.
 
Race 4THE CAR COMPANY / BMTT MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
HENRY EYRE - A false start was declared when HENRY EYRE broke in the score up interfering with second row runners. Driver S Abernethy elected to remain in his allocated position for the re run. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of this gelding. Broke free of interference with 500 metres to run with a further warning placed on its racing record.
BOULTS ON FIRE - paced roughly through the early stages.
CHELSEA ELLA - commenced to weaken from the 600 metres and was shifted outwards and retired from the event. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of this filly with Trainer D Pearce in the coming days.
IT'S OFFICIAL - skied its head in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole. Paced roughly in the early stages and failed to race in a competitive fashion throughout the race. Driver J Dunn advised the gelding had been striking a knee throughout with connections advising they would no longer be persevering with the gelding as a racing option.
I'VE GOT A LONG FACE - weakened considerably with 400 metres to run. Driver R Holmes could offer no explanation for the filly's performance with stewards to follow up the recovery in the coming days.
MYBOYLOLLIEPOP - Driver M Edmonds was fined $100.00 by the JCA for driving with his foot out of the sulky footrest with 400 metres to run.
 
Race 5TOMMY BEHRNS HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video 
SUNNY BILL - held up due to tiring runner with 400 metres to run. Had to be steadied momentarily passing the 200 metres when awkwardly placed to the inside of TROUBLE GIERO.
KAI TIME - commenced to weaken from the 500 metres. Driver M Edmonds advised that the gelding over raced through the middle stages and commenced to tire from the 500 metres inconveniencing trailing runners. Driver M Edmonds advised that the gelding's tendency to over race through the running had taken its toll over the concluding stages.
TROUBLE GIERO - raced inside several track markers rounding the final bend and had to be steadied. Authorisation of first place being awarded to this gelding was withheld until such time Stewards were satisfied that TROUBLE GIERO had not received an advantage at this stage of the race. Driver S McNally admitted driving with his foot out of the sulky footrest for an extended period of time throughout the run home and was fined the sum of $100.
BACARDI N COKE - broke after 200 metres when negotiating the first bend.
REDWOOD INVASION - broke briefly nearing the 2400 metres. Held up by the tiring KAI TIME at the 500 metres and again held up through the early stages of the run home. Broke briefly near the 200 metres.
THE PRINCE - slow through the early stages. Was removed from the unruly for future standing starts.
 
Race 6WESTPORT TROTTING CLUB / REEFTON TROTTING CLUB MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
TAKITIMU EXPRESS - restrained through the early stages. Held up rounding the final bend and throughout the run home. Driver J Cox advised he did not activate the sliding blinds on his gelding.
ALL NUTS N BOLTS - held up in the early stages of the run home.
SAUCHIEHALL - was held up rounding the final bend and the run home with Driver C Thornley advising that he did not activate the removable hood.
BELLA JONES - Driver R May admitted using his whip outside the guidelines over the concluding 400 metres. After hearing submissions on penalty to which Mr May requested a deferment the JCA suspended his horseman's licence from the conclusion of racing at the Oamaru HRC's meeting on the 18th June 2017 up to and including the Forbury Park Trotting Club's meeting on the 29th June 2017 (3 days).

GUNPOWDER - paced roughly through the early stages. Was inclined to lay outwards through the early stages before pacing roughly checking the trailing runner. A warning was placed on its race record.
DUCKS DELUXE - broke after 200 metres when negotiating the first bend disrupting trailing runners with a warning placed on its race record.
CULLENZ DIAMOND - was inclined to lay inwards through the running and broke free of interference near the 500 metres inconveniencing the trailing runner. A warning was placed on its race record.
IDEALAGAIN - held up through the early stages of the run home.
FREAK LIKE ME - broke in the score up failing to lose ground and stumbling. Broke again when checked after approximately 200 metres losing its chance. Trainer A Best advised that it was her intention to spell the gelding before resuming with a final warning placed on the gelding's barrier record.
ROCKNROLL NEVIN - struggled to maintain its position with the field throughout the running.
BLINGITON - inconvenienced by a breaking runner nearing the 500 metres.
TRIXIE BROMAC - inconvenienced by a breaking runner nearing the 500 metres.

ALPHA ROCK - displayed poor barrier manners.
VALOR LUSTRE - was obliged to race wide without cover for the final lap. Commenced to weaken from the 600 metres.

IT'S ALL OVER NOW - Driver J Cox admitted a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) in that he used his whip outside the guidelines over the concluding 400 metres. After hearing submissions on penalty to which Mr Cox requested a deferment the JCA suspended his horseman's licence from the conclusion of racing at the NZMTC's meeting on the 16th June 2017 up to and including the Marlborough HRC meeting on the 25th June 2017 (3 days).
RISHI - raced three wide through the early stages.
ARDENT LUSTRE - locked sulky stays with EMILY BLUNT nearing the 200 metres losing its chance. Stewards reviewed video footage of this incident and could apportion no blame to any one driver. No further action was deemed necessary.
ARIZONA ATOM - paced roughly over the concluding stages with Driver D Dunn advising that the gelding's outside tyre was punctured in consequence.
HOPEFUL HARRIET - tangled away.
EMILY BLUNT - locked sulky stays with ARDENT LUSTRE nearing the 200 metres losing its chance. Stewards reviewed video footage of this incident and could apportion no blame to any one driver. No further action was deemed necessary.
 
Race 10SPEEDY SIGNS MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
ENGLISH ROSE - paced roughly and broke negotiating the first bend and lost its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of this filly.
BLACK ART - broke with 300 metres to run after being placed in restricted room by HYPERVELOCITY which was hanging inwards.
BOBBY T - paced roughly into the first bend. Broke with 400 metres to run when awkwardly placed to the inside of ARCANO.
ARCANO - hung inwards when Driver C DeFilippi activated the removable gear placing pressure on BOBBY T.
HYPERVELOCITY - hung inwards with 300 metres to run placing BLACK ART in restricted room.
