PRIMUS INTER PARES - held up rounding the final bend and over the early stages of the run home.
BRO FAWKES S - inclined to lay in rounding the bends.
ARETHUSA SPUR - slow away.
TORBJORN - held up rounding the final turn.
 
Race 2AB EQUIPMENT MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
RICHARD LE FORT - broke for several strides during the score up settling quickly. Held up rounding the final bend and over the early stages of the run home.
LIS RULZ - sustained a punctured sulky wheel tyre inside the final 250 metres.
FRANCO HAMILTON - the gelding came to the mobile gate at barrier positon five instead of barrier position three. This situation was corrected during the score up. Junior Driver A. Drake was fined $300 by the J.C.A. after admitting a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) in that he use his whip excessively driving the gelding out. Mr Drake also admitted a charge under Rule 857(7)(d) in that he came to the starting gate out of position. The J.C.A. imposed a fine of $100.00.
SAUCYCULLEN - inconvenienced during score up due to FRANCO HAMILTON being in an incorrect barrier position during the early part of the score up.
JANET GUTHRIE - a length out of position at the start. Junior Driver T. Lethaby was cautioned and reminded to maintain his barrier position at the start.
DROVER'S EYRE - no claims lodged.

RAVE NATION - broke early in the score up, recovering to be a length out of position at the start.
A GLASS OF TANQUERAY - broke late in the score up, recovered to take its correct barrier position at the start but then broke shortly after galloping a distance. Stewards reviewed the video coverage to ensure that the mare complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation for its 5th placing.
HALLEY'S LAST - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground and its chance.
APOLLO weakened from inside the final 700 metres finishing well back. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
BILLY AT SALSA - checked during the score up galloping for several strides, recovered but then proceeded to trot roughly and was two lengths out of position at the start. Broke again shortly after the start galloping a distance losing ground.
SECRETOFTHESEA SMILE - inconvenienced in the score up by a galloping runner and started from the vacant barrier four position on the second line instead of the unruly position which is five or wider on the second line. No action was taken against Driver D. Jones due to the mare being inconvenienced during the score up.

M T POCKETS - inclined to lay out shortly after the start. Raced three wide in the middle stages before being improved forward to race outside the leader at the 1000 metres, weakened rounding the final bend.
JOHNNY PODRES - paced roughly and broke racing into the first bend losing several lengths. After settling continued to pace roughly rounding the first bend. Weakened approaching the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners record.
CHAL SHOCKED - no claims lodged.
PAY ME OVERS - inconvenienced taking evasive action away from a galloping runner approaching the first bend. Paced erratically when under pressure throughout the run home.

RAIN MAN - held up rounding the final bend and over the early stages of the run home.
ARAMIS - threw a near fore shoe shortly after the start.
EYESDOWN AND LOOKING - raced three wide early.

RED MAGIC - broke free of interference near the 200 metres. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners record.
ENVIOUS - paced roughly shortly after the start.
BETTORS POCKET - broke for several strides near the 1900 metres. Junior Driver T. Cameron admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) and the Easing Down Regulation and the J.C.A. imposed a fine of $250.00 after he drove the gelding carelessly when he failed to concede a position inside VASARI (D. Butcher) causing his own horse to break.

ROYAL LINCOLN - held up rounding the final bend and over the early stages of the run home.
KING OF SWING - shifted out under pressure just short of the winning post.
PLEASURABLE - received a minor check at the winning post by a runner shifting out to its inside.
TACT OLLIE - failed to get clear racing room throughout the run home.
YOUSHALLNOTPASS - broke for a couple of strides passing the 100 metres when under pressure.
BLACK CHEVRON - compounded from inside the 1100 metres and was retired from the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation. A veterinary certificate of fitness is required before resuming.
JAMIESON SHARD - hung inward throughout the score up and again on the final turn.

GERSHWIN - broke at the start losing considerable ground and again passing the 1400 metres losing its chance.
YAGUNNAKISSMEORNOT - Driver M. McKendry advised he did not activate the removable deafeners.

MAJESTIC GAL - broke passing the 800 metres losing ground. Broke again passing the 200 metres.
IZINTHEZONE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. The mare was placed on the unruly for standing starts at the trainer's request.
GINGER BERTHA - broke rounding the first bend settling quickly. Trotted unevenly from inside the 600 metres and weakened out.
AMY'S INVASION - required services of the farrier delaying the start.
