Trainer S Breen has advised Stewards that blood tests and an endoscopic examination of SANTANNA'S ROCKET have shown no abnormalities with Mr Breen confirming that the gelding will now be sent for a spell.

Race 1 180 YEARS OF JOHN DEERE CLAIMERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
NERVE OF STEEL - when questioned regarding the gelding's improved performance trainer M Saunders explained that the gelding had paced roughly throughout its previous start at Invercargill after being shod on race morning which in his opinion in hindsight had a negative affect on that occasion. Mr Saunders added the gelding had taken benefit from the addition of sliding blinds and was better suited to again racing against claim horses.
HURRICANE BANNER - hung inwards when rounding the bends throughout. Lay inwards when placed under pressure in the final straight. Junior driver C Faithful reported she was unable to activate the removable deafeners on the gelding due to the cord becoming entangled.
ATOM HANOVER - lay inwards rounding the final bend and raced roughly before breaking passing the 200 metres.
JERRY FITZ - disappointed for racing room rounding the final bend having to shift ground outwards near the 150 metres. Held up over the concluding stages.

Race 2 NOTHING RUNS LIKE A DEERE TROT Video  Video 
KING KONE - held up on the final bend.
LITTLE ROCKET - broke on the first bend near the 1900 metres.
ANOTHER DELIGHT - broke near the 1900 metres when in a leading position.
DUCHESS GRACE - carried a flat tyre for the final 1200 metres.
PHOEBE FLYER - hung inwards rounding the final bend.
KING CASSIDY - broke shortly after the start.
OUR BUDD - slow over the early stages.
BELMONT INVASION - over-raced near the 1200 metres and when being restrained contacted the sulky wheel of DUCHESS GRACE.
HENGROEN - hampered near the 1900 metres having to be steadied. When questioned regarding the performance driver D Dunn advised the gelding had trotted indifferently throughout and could not improve its position in consequence.
OVERCAST - hampered near the 1900 metres having to be steadied. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
SCARLETT LANE - broke shortly after the start.
 
Race 3 SOUTHLAND FARM MACHINERY SECOND HAND TRACTORS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
TILLY PATRON - hung inwards and paced roughly near the 700 metres placing pressure on the leading T C BUSINESS for a short distance. Inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 500 metres.
FREEHOLD - raced roughly in the early stages. Broke rounding the bend near the 2300 metres. Hung outwards over the final 400 metres.
MANDOLIN - out of position at the start. Driver H Hunter was warned to ensure he maintains his barrier position until the dispatch point. Raced wide from the 1500 metres. Inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 500 metres.
MONIAIVE - hampered in the score up and as a result was out of position at the start. Inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 500 metres.
T C BUSINESS - raced roughly in the score up and shifted inwards hampering MONIAIVE. A warning was placed on this gelding's mobile barrier record. Hampered for a short distance near the 2300 metres. Raced wide in the early stages until near the 2100 metres. Steadied near the 1000 metres due to an easing of the pace.
LAUSANNE LASS - inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 500 metres.
WHATA RAZZLE DAZZLE - hung inwards and raced roughly near the 1000 metres having to be steadied which in turn caused the pace in the three wide line to ease and then continued to race erratically for the remainder of the race. Inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 500 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised that the gelding had raced greenly throughout causing him some difficulty. Mr Williams added the connections intended to make gear changes in an attempt to make the gelding more tractable.
JACKS N JAZZ - broke when being improved forward near the 500 metres resulting in a disorganisation of the field. Driver M Williamson was unable to offer any explanation for the gallop. Stood down pending a satisfactory trial with Co-trainer Mr G Knight advising it was his intention to spell JACKS N JAZZ.
 
Race 4 SOUTHLAND FARM MACHINERY & TRACTOR HIRE SOUTH TROT Video  Video 
SVELT - shifted outwards as the start was made making contact with the sulky of MISS BAMBOOCHA.
MISS BAMBOOCHA - slow to begin and made contact with SVELT in the early stages. Broke approaching the 2000 metres.
GOLDSTAR BORIS - broke rounding the first bend.
NOVEMBER GUY - trotted roughly in the early stages of the run home. Broke for the final 20 metres. Dividends were delayed until the Stewards were satisfied this gelding had firstly not been lapped on at the finishing line and secondly had not galloped in excess of 50 metres.
LAURA BUSH - hung inwards when being improved forward from the 700 metres. Hung inwards and broke near the 400 metres.
PURE EMOTION - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
AMBRO AMEIGO - broke shortly after the start losing ground.

MACHJAGGER - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer B Gray advised that he had not been overly disappointed with the mare's efforts in recent weeks and she had derived considerable benefit from beach training and a more favourable barrier draw on this occasion.
THE BEST CHRISTIAN - improved wide near the 1400 metres to race without cover from the 1100 metres until losing the parked position near the 400 metres. Hung inwards under pressure throughout the final straight.
BOLD RULER - raced wide in the early stages and hung inwards when being taken forward costing the gelding some momentum.
JUST WISH - required the attention of the farrier prior to the start causing a delay. Had difficulty obtaining racing room throughout the final straight.
JUSTASIP - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on this gelding's mobile barrier record.
GOTTA MINUTE - broke in the score up losing considerable ground and was out of position at the start. Dividends were delayed when driver B McLellan reported that he had been denied a fair start by having to shift ground around the breaking JUSTASIP. After considering Mr McLellan's submission and reviewing the films the Stewards were not satisfied the gelding had received interference but instead had broken of its own accord and so it was declared a runner. A warning was placed on this gelding's mobile barrier record.
 
Race 6 GENUINE JOHN DEERE PARTS & SERVICE FILLIES & MARES MOB PACE Video  Video 
AKRIS - Junior driver M Hurrell was warned for his use of the whip near the 100 metres.
EVANGELINE FRANCO - raced wide in the early stages.
SPORTAGE DENARIO - the Murphy Blind was removed prior to the start after the filly had warmed up unfavourably. Paced roughly and broke near the 400 metres.
JANUARY JONES - broke during the score up and failed to settle for a considerable distance eventually being pulled up from the event. A warning was placed on this filly's barrier record.
IDEAL CONQUEST - raced wide in the early and middle stages. Over-raced throughout.

DANIELLE AMORE - locked wheels with LARCH early in the run home.
SPUR WING - became fractious prior to the barrier strand being released and impeded the progress of MASS INVASION, obliging a false start be declared. SPUR WING was sent to the Unruly position for the restart where it will be drawn for its upcoming standing start engagements. Broke shortly after the start checking a trailing runner.
OCH AYE THE NOO - checked shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
LARCH - Carried a flat tyre for the final 600 metres. Locked wheels with DANIELLE AMORE in the early stages of the run home losing ground. When questioned regarding this driver A Suddaby explained that his runner had hung inwards at the same time he was making ground which had coincided with DANIELLE AMORE losing some ground causing the wheels to lock.
SUNDONS WISH - Driver D Dunn was issued with a warning for allowing his runner to trail a sulky wheel on the bend near the 1300 metres. Broke near the 250 metres.
RYDGEMONT MILLY - shifted outwards to a three wide position near the 650 metres however soon after was directed inwards to re-assume its position in the two wide line. This inwards movement caused POPPYMALDA to be taken inwards and make contact with the sulky wheel of LARCH. Driver S Walkinshaw admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) - Careless Driving and after viewing replays and hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $300.
MOMENT OF SUN - raced wide and without cover from the 1300 metres. Stewards questioned drivers G Lee and S Walkinshaw (RYDGEMONT MILLY) regarding a potential push out on the bend near the 1300 metres. After considering both drivers explanations the Stewards were satisfied RYDGEMONT MILLY had commenced to shift outwards prior to MOMENT OF SUN reaching its sulky wheel. Hung inwards when being improved forward near the 1000 metres.
PYRAMID MONARCH - hampered on the final bend and had to shift wider on the track.
POPPYMALDA - attempted to improve near the 600 metres but was crowded by RYDGEMONT MILLY and shifted inwards and in doing so made contact with the sulky wheel of LARCH. Hampered in the early stages of the run home by runners ahead which had locked wheels and then broke passing the 200 metres when shifting inwards to make use of the Passing Lane.

CORPORATE INTENT - broke near the 500 metres hampering a trailing runner.
TRIPLE VC - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start after junior driver S Tomlinson reported the gelding to have felt indifferent in its action in the preliminary.
SON OF LANA - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on this gelding's mobile barrier record. Raced roughly on the bend near the 1300 metres then broke losing considerable ground.
DAYS OF CHANGE - hampered near the 500 metres.
AZTEC KING - broke entering the first bend. A final warning was placed on this gelding's racing record.

TANGLED UP IN BLUE - held up throughout the run home.
TIZIANO - raced wide in the early and middle stages until near the 1400 metres.
PAT'S LEGACY - raced wide in the early and middle stages until near the 1300 metres.
BLACK ATHENA - trainer C Ferguson was issued with a $50 Minor Infringement Notice for the Late Notification of Gear, namely blinds. Paced roughly and broke near the 300 metres. A warning was placed on this mare's racing record. Trainer C Ferguson advised he would no longer be persevering with the mare as a racing proposition from his stable.
LINDALI - had difficulty obtaining clear running throughout the run home.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - paced roughly in the score up and was slightly out of position at the dispatch. Held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.

SIMPLE PLEASURE - over-raced during the score up.
SANDS OF LOVE - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange could offer no tangible explanation.
CAST A SHADOW - paced roughly and broke rounding the first bend.
THE HIGH ACHIEVER - inconvenienced rounding the first bend when forced to shift wider to avoid a breaking runner.
RAKAROVER - raced wide in the middle stages.
MACHIE MACH - driver D Dunn reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners on the gelding due to having some difficulty obtaining clear running.
VERA'S DELIGHT - held up throughout the home straight.
 
Race 11 SOUTHLAND FARM MACHINERY HOME OF JOHN DEERE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
JABALI - held up for a short distance on the final bend. Stewards questioned junior driver M Hurrell regarding his decision to surrender the lead near the 1700 metres to ROXY DALE as opposed to maintaining his front running position which he did with success at the gelding's last start (20th May). Mr Hurrell explained it had been his pre-race intention to lead and he had been able to withstand a brief challenge from ART EXHIBIT in the early stages. Mr Hurrell added that when pressured for the lead by ROXY DALE soon after he felt it in his best interests to take a trail as he was not confident his runner could work twice during the running and still remain competitive against a higher calibre of opposition. He said that M Williamson was an aggressive driver and would likely remain in front however this had not eventuated.
SIX DIAMONDS - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Williamson advised he was slightly disappointed with the effort but considered that today's field represented a rise in class to recent opposition.
EL CAPITAN - raced wide in the middle stages.
SHEZACULLENGIRL - over-raced in the middle stages.
ROXY DALE - raced wide in the early stages until near the 1700 metres.
YOUNG CONQUEROR - improved wide near the 600 metres and was shifted to a six wide position on the final bend.
GROOMSMAN - over-raced in the middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room over the final stages..
MIGHTY FLYING DEAL - steadied near the 450 metres when awkwardly positioned behind HAVINARAVUP.
HAVINARAVUP- held up rounding the final bend.
