Race 10 - MORTLOCK McCORMACK LAW MOBILE TROT
Stable representative A Tomlinson has advised Stewards that following its disappointing performance at Addington last Friday MARCOOLA has had chiropractic treatment with the gelding working well since that treatment. Ms Tomlinson added that MARCOOLA will go to the workouts at Ashburton on Saturday in continuation of its Jewels preparation.
Driver G O'Reilly (TORNADO VALLEY) admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he shifted inwards racing into the first bend when insufficiently clear of VALMAGNE (M Williamson) which was checked and broke losing considerable ground. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, Mr O'Reilly was fined $500 by the JCA.

MARKIM - held up for clear racing room in the initial stages of the home straight. Crowded for racing room over the concluding stages. Driver M Maynard reported he did not activate the removable deafeners.
TAKE AFTER ME - held up throughout the run home.
AS KIWI AS - driver C Wigg advised she accidentally dropped her whip approaching the 400 metres.
HANDLEBAR HANK - over-raced middle stages.
EJA PATRON - raced three wide without cover throughout. Hung inwards racing into the first bend crowding inside runners. Continued to hang inwards on the bends.
ALEXY - held up in the early stages of the run home.
ALL NUTS N BOLTS - hampered racing into the first bend when placed in restricted room and had to be steadied.

NICKY ANEW - broke as the start was effected inconveniencing BUBBLE GUM. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier record.
MOTU BETTOR BE QUICK - hampered passing the 600 metres by a tiring runner. Held up final bend. Driver S Ottley was warned for the manner she drove near the 650 metres when crowding SHARKNADO.
CRYSTAL SLIPPER - hung inwards rounding the first bend. Hung inwards and weakened from the 600 metres.
SPOOKY - gave ground final bend.
DEVILICIOUS - paced roughly shortly after the start checking the trailing DEBNITA ROSE. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of DEVILICIOUS. Co-trainer/driver T Chmiel advised he would be changing the mare's bit prior to resuming.
GOT A BEAUTY - hampered passing the 600 metres by a tiring runner.
BUBBLE GUM - inconvenienced at the start.
HASHTAG - broke after 150 metres checking the trailing SHARKNADO. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
DEBNITA ROSE - checked and broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
SHARKNADO - checked after 150 metres. Paced roughly near the 650 metres when placed in restricted room.

SPOTS GOLD N GIRL - held up final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
ABOUT LAST NIGHT - paced in the score up and had to be checked into a break losing several lengths. Trotted roughly final bend and again over the concluding stages.
IDLE MOOSE - raced wide early stages.
OAK - the boring pole was removed prior to the start. Trotted roughly in the score up and was back a length at the start. Hung inwards racing into the first bend. Hung inwards rounding the final bend striking pylons. Broke over the concluding stages.
IMRAN KHAN - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. Hung inwards early stages of the run home and trotted roughly thereafter.
ONE OVER DA SKYE - hung inwards in the score up.
ELVIS P - broke late in the score up losing several lengths. Broke near the 200 metres.

BK DAWN - held up final bend. Had to be steadied at the 100 metres.
WESTY BOYZ - when spoken to regarding the performance of WESTY BOYZ driver B Orange advised the gelding had received every opportunity and he was unable to offer any explanation for the performance.
REIGN ON ME - out of position at the candy pole. Driver D Dunn was issued with a warning. Raced wide early stages.
SOLAR STORM - trotted roughly in the score up. Broke with 350 metres to run.

TORRID BROMAC - hung outwards in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.
VALOR LUSTRE - driver R Holmes reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
MOONROCK - late scratching at 11.15am on Veterinary advice.

RUNAWAY THREE - gave ground passing the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding in the coming days.
SWEET LORESS - Trainer P Anderson was charged a $25 colour fee. Held up early stages of the home straight.
SHILLELAGH - raced wide early stages.
CMEEROCK - raced wide early stages.
DON DOMINGO - weakened leaving the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from a respiratory infection. A Veterinary clearance will be required prior to DON DOMINGO resuming.
KAYTEEOH DENARIO - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
ROCKNROLL PRINCESS - the required Veterinary clearance was received.
MALIK - lay inwards throughout the home straight.

TESSA'S ROCKET - broke in the score up and was several lengths out of position at the start.
NEEDLE - hung inwards on the bends.
ALL LIT UP - baulked at the mobile barrier in the score up losing several lengths.

MAN OF STEEL - held up early and middle stages of the home straight.
BORN AGAIN DELIGHT - broke at the start.
TAKITIMU EXPRESS - broke at the start. Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up for clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
MADDISONS DESIRE - broke at the start losing all chance.
RAH DE RAH - delayed the start and was sent to the unruly position for the re-start. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer B Hutton. Broke at the start.
IDEAL RULE - paced roughly after 150 metres. Raced wide in the early stages before improving to the parked position near the 1900 metres. Over-raced for a distance thereafter. Driver T Lethaby reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
TUPELO MISSISSIPPI - broke at the start. Weakened final bend.
PEGASUS KOMMANDER - broke at the start.
SANS LE SOU - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
NOMATTERMEE - broke at the start.

CORENA LEA - weakened final bend.
HONOUR THE BET - weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards questioned driver J Dunn regarding the tactics he adopted between the 1500 metres and 1300 metres when challenging INDIANA DREAMING for the lead after being unsuccessful in an attempt to find the front racing into the first bend. Mr Dunn explained after his initial attempt to lead he restrained the gelding however shortly after Mr Williams driving INDIANA DREAMING attempted to ease the speed passing the 1500 metres. Mr Dunn explained that the gelding has a tendency to over-race and is best suited to the speed being on in his races. Mr Dunn further added the gelding is one paced and had been driven in a similar manner the previous time he had driven the horse when finishing 2nd two starts ago. Stewards noted Mr Dunn's explanation.
MOTU RAMPAGE - the over-check came adrift shortly after the start. Held up final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
KAMWOOD KID - held up early stages of the home straight.
BLUE BLAZER - late scratching at 1.30pm on Veterinary advice.

HIGHLAND REIGN - held up early stages of the home straight.
DUPLICATED - hampered near the 1300 metres.
ENGLISH ROSE - raced wide in the early stages. Hampered near the 1300 metres. Broke with 900 metres to run.
JULIA LADY - raced keenly early stages. Hampered near the 1300 metres. Broke the near side spreader during the running. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
PIRATE BAY - raced keenly early stages.
WARLOCH - sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 1300 metres.
FRANCO SAXON - broke near the 1300 metres when over-racing and contacting the sulky of WARLOCH after an easing of the pace with trailing runners being checked. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Trainer/driver J Cox advised that he would be returning FRANCO SAXON to the trials prior to resuming.
GYPSY'S CHOICE - checked and broke near the 1300 metres.
HARD DAYS NIGHT - hampered near the 1300 metres. Hung inwards and gave ground final bend. Driver K Butt reported she did not activate the removable deafeners due to the mare hanging.
