ZIMFANDEL - trainer B Negus has reported his gelding had pulled up lame the morning after the races with a subsequent examination revealing an active stone bruise which he felt was likely to have had some impact on his runner's performance.

RED HARBOUR - broke at the start and lost its chance.
ANOTHERDOLLYTROUBLE - driver R May was questioned regarding his decision to vacate the one one near the 1400 metres and shift inwards to race four deep on the pylon line. Mr May explained that the mare was hanging inwards badly throughout the race and he felt that it was in his best interests to not fight this tendency and allow her to take an inside position. Mr May's comments were noted.
TAIERI MISS - trotted roughly on the final bend.
SEA ROVER - raced greenly over the final stages.
ASH - driver N Williamson reported his gelding raced roughly in the early stages and again in the run home.
KATIKI LAD - weakened on the bend near the 400 metres. Broke passing the 300 metres.
JERRY GARCIA - broke near the 2000 metres. Raced wide and hung out on the back straight on the final occasion. Broke at the 300 metres.
NOVEMBER GUY - was held up rounding the final bend. Broke near the 100 metres. The two minute breast plate came adrift.
FIRA - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
CASTLETON TUI - was awkwardly away.

BETTOR CHANCE - hung in on the final bend and continued to do so throughout the run home.
ROSTRIEVER VICTORY - raced wide from the 1300 metres, tired passing the 300 metres.

RISHI - raced roughly rounding the final bend, hung inwards and was eased down. When questioned with regards to the gelding's performance driver J Dunn explained his horse had hung throughout and they would consider making gear changes prior to resuming.
LETS ROCK N ROLL - out of position at the candy pole. Driver J Hay spoken to and advised to make a better effort in the future.
YANKEE DIVA - back at the candy pole. Driver S McNally was issued with a warning.
 
Race 4 PICK & SHOVEL WINE PACE Video  Video 
MILLWOOD STEFANIE - broke at the start.
GREEN MACHINE - broke at the start.
SOCIAL MEDIA - broke at the start.
TESTINO - hung throughout causing driver J Dunn some difficulty, raced roughly in the early stages of the run home. When spoken to regarding the gelding's performance Mr Dunn explained his horse had proved difficult to steer throughout and disappointed him with his efforts.
JACKS N JAZZ - broke at the start. Made unruly at the request of the connections.
STAR ATTACK - crowded for a short distance leaving the final bend.
MAGICAL MITCH - hampered in the early stages getting back as a result.
SPOILSPORT - driver N Williamson reported due to the cord becoming entangled his blinds had not activated.
DYING TO SEE YOU - broke at the start.
DODGE PHOENIX - lay inwards leaving the final bend having to be steadied. When questioned regarding the improved performance of DODGE PHOENIX driver T McMillan advised the gelding had appreciated returning to standing start races and today's field represented a considerable drop back in class to recent opposition. Mr McMillan added it was his intention to send the gelding for a spell and give the horse a chance to fully develop.

FRANCO CALIPH - began awkwardly.
IODEAN - over raced in the middle stages when positioned to the outside of the leader.
MIDFREW TARPEDIEM - Driver J Markham was issued with a charge alleging he had used his whip more times than was permitted inside the 400 metres. Mr Markham admitted the breach and after hearing submissions on penalty was fined $300 by the JCA.
RAH DE RAH - held up final bend.
MARTIN MCGUINNESS - shifted outwards in the early stages of the run home. Driver B Orange was spoken to advisedly.
TAKITIMU EXPRESS - broke at the start.
GAME CHANGER - broke at the start.
RAPHOE - had one front shoe removed prior to the start. Broke at the start. Held up final bend.
 
Race 6 MORRISONS SADDLERY & FEED TROT Video  Video 
WOT UP - inconvenienced at the 200 metres.
BET'S COMMANDO - broke near the 200 metres.
MUSCLES GALORE - broke at the start.
JEAN SEBASTIEN - trotted roughly approaching the 1000 metres. Had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
SOLAR STORM - broke at the 2100 metres. Broke again at the 900 metres.
ANOTHER CHAPTER - broke at the start and again broke entering the first bend.
TAKENOPRISONERS - Broke approaching the 2400 metres losing ground. Checked at the 200 metres.
TIJUANA TAXI - broke at the start.
PYRAMID MUSTANG - broke at the start. Again broke at the first bend losing its chance.
WHATASISTA - slowly away.
 
Race 7 NEVELE R JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
GERALD - raced fiercely in the early stages when being restrained in an attempt to surrender the lead.
CHIEF KAPAI - raced wide early stages.
MY CASH - over raced in the middle stages.
OKAINS BAY - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
GUNPOWDER - raced wide from the 1100 metres.
NIC MAC WILLY - broke in the score up being out of position by several lengths at the start. The connections were warned to improve their gelding's barrier manners.
BELMONT JET - hung inwards rounding the final bend.
MCKENZIE MARA - when questioned with regards to the performance trainer N Williamson explained junior horseman M Purvis to have reported the mare to have hung out with him being unable to improve its position as a result. Mr Williamson added that the mare was fresh up since 2 January and anticipated she would derive considerable benefit from the run.

THEODOSIA - broke at the 2300 metres. Held up throughout the run home. Driver C Butt reported he had not activated the filly's deafeners.
SHE'S ALLTHE CRAZE - placed in restricted room in the early stages of the run home contacting pylons. Driver N Williamson was issued with a charge alleging he had used his whip more times than was permitted inside the 400 metres. Mr Williamson admitted the breach and after hearing submissions on penalty his horseman's license was suspended from the conclusion of racing today up to and including the conclusion of racing on 1 June 2017 (2 days). In addition a fine of $300 was imposed.
SARAH PALIN - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
CLOVER LADY - raced roughly on the bend near the 2100 metres. Broke passing the 400 metres.
GEENA'S SUCCESS - shifted inwards under pressure in the early stages of the run home causing SHE'S ALLTHE CRAZE to be shifted inside track markers for a short distance. Driver B Williamson was issued with a warning under Rule 869(7A)(c).
RED HOT POKER - broke shortly after the start.

HANDSOME HERO - began awkwardly.
IDEALISTIC LASS - broke at the start.
MIGHTY FLYING DEAL - raced wide in the early stages.
CULLEY BACKY - driver S McNally advised he carried a flat tyre from the top of the straight.
ULTIMATE FELLA - broke at the start losing considerable ground.

ARRAN CHIEF - broke at the start losing ground. Lay inwards throughout the run home.
ALDERBECK - B Williamson dropped his whip near the 100 metres.

FRANCO EXETER - raced wide in the early stages.
THE HIGH ROLLER - raced wide in the early stages.
FRANCO SAXON - broke in the score up checking PLAYBOY PRINCE and ACE HIGH which resulted in a false start being declared. Driver J Cox elected to stay at barrier 10 for the restart. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Held up from the 1200 metres to the 400 metres.
MOTU SPEEDY STAR - raced wide from the 800 metres.
