Race 10 - FOVEAUX COMMUNICATIONS MOBILE PACE
Stewards have concluded an investigation into an incident entering the first bend. After taking evidence from drivers A Beck, K Barclay and T Williams, Mr Beck was issued with and admitted a charge pursuant to Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly by shifting BETTOR ENFORCE inwards when there was insufficient room between MISS FANDANGO (K Barclay) and LOUIE (T Williams) resulting in LOUIE and DACHY falling while MALIK and MY GEORGIE BOY were severely hampered dislodging their respective drivers. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a suspension of Mr Beck's horseman's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 28 September 2017 (9 days).

Trainer B Gray had advised Stewards that JACCKA JOSH was found to be suffering from a hoof abscess following its performance at Gore last week which has since been treated.

HOLDON MONARCHY - broke entering the first bend. Locked sulky stays with NOTTINGHAM K TWO for a short distance passing the 250 metres. Broke near the 150 metres.
TOO COOL - placed on the Unruly for future standing start events at the request of trainer B Gray.
NOBLE GAMBLE - driver A Suddaby was cautioned to ensure his whip does not protrude outside the confines of the sulky.
SPUR ME ON GENTLY - broke approaching the first bend.
THUNDER BUDDY - broke at the start and failed to settle for a considerable distance. Placed on the Unruly for future standing start events at the request of trainer B Wallace.
LOVEY DOVEY MOMENT - broke at the start. Trotted roughly for a distance near the 1250 metres.
AMBRO AMEIGO - broke shortly after the start. Authorisation of fourth placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking shortly after the start.
PURE EMOTION - broke near the 1300 metres.
MR TASSLE - broke shortly after the start when taking evasive action to avoid a breaking runner. Trotted roughly over the final 1000 metres. Broke near the 100 metres.
NOTTINGHAM K TWO - locked sulky stays with HOLDON MONARCHY for a short distance passing the 250 metres.

NEWMANS JET - held up rounding the final bend until near the 200 metres. Claimed from the event.
NERVE OF STEEL - brushed sulky stays with PAY MASTER near the 200 metres.
PAY MASTER - lay inwards and brushed sulky stays momentarily with NERVE OF STEEL near the 200 metres.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - driver T Quate reported that the gelding had felt indifferent in its action upon pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination which revealed no clinical abnormalities, however a veterinary clearance is recommended prior to racing next. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with trainer A Hoffman in the coming days.
SEDUCE ME - Trainers G & J Knight were issued with a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 when presenting the mare without notified gear (blinds). Raced wide in the early stages until near the 1000 metres. Weakened from the 300 metres.
SWAP OVER - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the dispatch despite the efforts of driver N Williamson.
RONNOCO - broke when placed under pressure passing the 150 metres.
 
Race 3 SOUTHLAND FARM MACHINERY LTD MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
KO WRECTED - Stewards questioned junior driver S Tomlinson regarding the tactics she adopted near the 1500 metres when failing to maintain a position behind SUGAR CANE which in turn allowed I'LDOITMYWAY to take up the trailing position. Miss Tomlinson advised she was mindful of the mare's tendency to gallop when placed under pressure and because of this, was reluctant to urge KO WRECTED to maintain the trailing position when the pace of the race increased at this stage of the race. Stewards noted Miss Tomlinson's comments. Held up for a short distance near the 300 metres. Broke and shifted outwards near the 100 metres checking another runner.
PHOEBE FLYER - raced wide in the early stages. Weakened from the 900 metres.
BELMONT'S GREATEST - broke shortly after the start.
TAKENOPRISONERS - Checked passing the 100 metres, breaking in consequence. Stewards lodged a Protest against the promoted fourth placing being awarded to this runner alleging the gelding had breached the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking in excess of 50 metres in the final 200 metres. After hearing evidence from junior driver M Purvis and the Stewards, the JCA elected to exercise their discretion and dismissed the Protest.
LITTLE ROCKET - broke passing the 150 metres. Stewards lodged a Protest against fourth placing being awarded to this runner alleging the gelding had breached the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking in excess of 50 metres in the final 200 metres. Driver B Barclay representing the connections did not contest the Protest and LITTLE ROCKET was subsequently disqualified by the JCA.
OUR BUDD - trotted slowly through the early stages of the score up, being several lengths out of position at the dispatch. Steadied near the 800 metres when awkwardly positioned behind a weakening runner.
BOURBON AND DRY - broke rounding the first bend. Raced wide in the middle stages.
 
Race 4 MICO PLUMBING SUPPLIES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
IDEAL ART - weakened from the 800 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver D Dunn could offer no tangible explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have suffered an atrial fibrillation. Connections were advised a veterinary clearance complete with the results of a clear ECG was required prior to IDEAL ART racing next.
MANDOLIN - held up rounding the final bend until near the 250 metres.
SNAP IT UP - held up rounding the final bend until near the 200 metres.
GIRLS NITE OUT - steadied near the 900 metres when awkwardly placed behind the weakening IDEAL ART.
 
Race 5 BRECKON FARMS FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SHARE THE ROAD - broke in the score up checking the trailing FINGER IN THE TILL resulting in a false start being declared. Driver D Dunn elected to start from the Unruly position for the restart. A warning was placed on the filly's mobile barrier record. Connections advised it was their intention to spell the filly.
REPARTEE - lay inwards when placed under pressure passing the 100 metres contacting the sulky stay of LAUSANNE LASS.
TILLY PATRON - raced wide over the final 800 metres. Hung inwards for a short distance near the 500 metres.
LAUSANNE LASS - raced wide in the early stages. Inconvenienced momentarily passing the 100 metres when contacting the sulky stay of REPARTEE.
FIRSTJOY - raced wide in the early stages.
LADY'S LASS - held up rounding the final bend and for the majority of the home straight.

FLYING - hung outwards rounding the first bend.
SHELBY BROMAC - hampered for a distance passing the 700 metres when trailing a weakening runner.
MAGNATE MARA - severely hampered shortly after the start when locking wheels with the breaking JACKS N JAZZ, eventually being retired from the event near the 1700 metres.
JACKS N JAZZ - broke shortly after the start and shifted inwards locking wheels with MAGNATE MARA for a distance. A warning was placed against the mobile barrier record of the colt.
LIGHT YEAR FRANCO - weakened from the 700 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Thornley could offer no tangible explanation advising the filly had been under pressure some distance from the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no clinical abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the filly with trainer S McRae in the coming days.
ZEALAND STAR - held up rounding the final bend. A post-race endoscopic examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
AZTEC KING - severely hampered shortly after the start having to take evasive action to avoid MAGNATE MARA. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts at the request of trainer S Lock.
FLEUR GALLEON - hampered shortly after the start having to take evasive action to avoid AZTEC KING.
 
Race 7 WINTON NIGHT'N DAY FOODSTORES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
HAPPY STYX - held up through the early and middle stages of the home straight until passing the 100 metres.
TANGLED UP IN BLUE - held up throughout the home straight with driver M Purvis advising he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners on the gelding.
MAGNETIC WATCH - broke during the score up and was several lengths out of position at dispatch.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - raced wide in the middle stages.
IODEAN - paced roughly when being improved forward in the early stages.
ELLNBAC - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
DON'T PASS I'M FAST - raced wide in the middle stages.
BOLD RULER - proved fractious prior to the start and was reluctant to step away with the field. After viewing replays and speaking with starter Mr B Ward and driver B Barclay in relation to the start, Stewards were satisfied that BOLD RULER had not been denied a fair start. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the gelding.

MOMENT OF SUN - broke when being improved forward near the 1200 metres.
JEN JACCKA - steadied passing the 1200 metres when awkwardly positioned near a breaking runner.
DARK HORSE - driver N Williamson reported he did not activate the removable deafeners on the mare due to having the field covered.
GOLDEN GATE - inconvenienced near the 1200 metres.
EYRE I COME - inconvenienced near the 1200 metres.

HIGHLAND GIRL - driver L Pearson was cautioned to ensure she maintains her barrier position until the dispatch.
PASS THE SPEIGHTS - held up over the concluding stages.
JIMMY MACK - raced wide in the middle stages.
TAS MAN BROMAC - raced wide in the middle stages.
BETTA GO FERNCO - broke during the score up checking ROYAL COUNSEL resulting in a false start being declared. Driver C Ferguson elected to start from the Unruly position for the restart. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the mare.
ROYAL COUNSEL - over-raced in the middle stages.
G I JOE - held up in the early stages of the home straight.

DIPENDRA - hampered for a distance when trailing a tiring runner near the 500 metres. Broke near the 150 metres.
LARCH - half carted for a distance passing the 1650 metres, with driver A Suddaby being cautioned regarding this.
OVERCAST - weakened from the 500 metres.
SUNDONS WISH - raced wide in the early stages.
SPLASH COLA - broke during the score up and failed to settle for a considerable distance eventually being retired from the event.
JUSTAMOLLYARCHER - over-raced for a distance passing the 1200 metres.
JACCKA JOSH - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Barclay reported in his opinion the gelding may be feeling the affects of recent racing.
 
Race 11 PGG WRIGHTSON MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MAJOR VIBES - commenced to give ground shortly after the start with the gelding being retired from the event near the 2200 metres. MAJOR VIBES was immediately attended to by the on-course veterinary surgeon however was found to be deceased upon arrival with a post-mortem to be conducted in the coming days.
ART EXHIBIT - driver G Lee was advised to exercise greater care when he shifted ground near the 300 metres.
SELENA FRANCO - hung inwards rounding the final bend and near the 300 metres paced roughly when ART EXHIBIT (G Lee) shifted outwards.

DACHY - hung inwards entering the first bend.
SHEZACULLENGIRL - held up for a distance when trailing a weakening runner near the 500 metres. Became held up again passing the 300 metres only obtaining clear racing room near the 150 metres.
BURN OFF - weakened from the 600 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver R McIlwrick could offer no tangible explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an elevated heart and respiratory rate. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with trainers G & N Hope in the coming days.
ROCKING ROBYN - over-raced in the early and middle stages. Held up in the early stages of the home straight until near the 150 metres.
