Race 1 BISHOPDALE/BUSH INN TAB'S & TAVERN HAREWOOD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ALL NUTS N BOLTS - held up through the early stages of the run home and had to be steadied close to the finishing line when momentarily placed in restricted room.
LIVING LEGEND - held up through the middle stages of the run home. Driver M Stratford reported he accidentally dropped his whip when attempting to activate removable gear.
REDMARO - had to be steadied shortly after the start when momentarily placed in restricted room.
OPAWA MACH - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
MAJOR PATRON - raced wide from the 1000 metres. Locked wheels with WAIHEMO ART nearing the 400 metres. Driver G Cook was shown the films and spoken to advisedly for the manner in which he drove at this stage of the race.
EASTWOOD CHIEFTAIN - Trainers G & N Hope (B Hope as agent) were fined $100.00 for presenting EASTWOOD CHIEFTAIN without the notified blinds. Not in position on mobile at dispatch. A warning was placed on the record of driver P Wallace to ensure he maintains his position until dispatch in future.
WAIHEMO ART - placed in restricted room nearing the 400 metres and had to be steadied when locking wheels with MAJOR PATRON which was racing to its outside. Had inside sulky wheel contacted by trailing runner at this point with the tyre deflating and coming off the rim. Had to be further steadied when awkwardly placed to the outside of FRANCO CALIPH nearing the 300 metres.
SWEET AS - raced wide in the early stages. Driver A White admitted using his whip excessively over the final 400 metres with the JCA imposing a fine of $400.00.
LEADING THE WAY - became awkwardly placed and made contact with the inside sulky wheel of WAIHEMO ART after this horse had locked wheels nearing the 400 metres.

TEHORO NOVA - commenced to tire from the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination showed a slow recovery rate. Trainer R Holmes advised that he will have his own veterinary surgeon examine the mare in the coming days. Stewards will follow this up with Mr Holmes.
FLYINOVA - trotted roughly passing the 100 metres.
STAR PRIDE - held up momentarily behind the tiring TEHORO NOVA passing the 600 metres.
GAME COMMANDO - broke shortly after the start and again on several occasions during the running losing its chance.
JEDI JOSH - late scratching by Order of Stewards after driver S Ottley reported concerns in regard to the manner in which the gelding had completed its preliminary. The connections were advised a veterinary clearance is required prior to resuming. A warning was placed on trainer K Adams' record for failing to advise Stewards who would be in control of her horse at the meeting in her absence.
GAMBLING ON - broke shortly after the start losing its chance.
JERRY GARCIA - slow over the early stages. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages and was unable to be driven out with any significant vigour.

DON'T TELL ANGE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.
IT'S OFFICIAL - eased back prior to dispatch. Driver C Smith was cautioned to maintain his position. Weakened final bend.
HASHTAG - hung inwards exiting the final bend. Driver B Butt admitted using his whip excessively over the final 400 metres with the JCA suspending Mr Butt's Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including the NZ Metropolitan TC meeting on 19 May 2017 (3 days).
GOTTA TICKET - driver J Dunn advised that he elected not to activate the hopple shorteners due to the gelding pacing fluently. When questioned in regards to the improved performance of GOTTA TICKET stable representative K Gill advised that the gelding had benefited from having an uninterrupted run today after receiving various amounts of interference in its most recent starts.

HANDSOME HERO - tangled away and ran outwards as the start was effected.
MISSINMEMATE - broke at the start. Inclined to lay inwards throughout the run home.
I AM YOURS - ran outwards rounding the first bend.
MADDISONS DESIRE - broke at the start.
 
Race 5 OHOKA 2YO MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
RACHMANINOV - broke shortly after the start.
GROOVY PRINCE - trotted roughly shortly after the start. Broke near the 1800 metres.
ONE OVER DA SKYE - improved outwards forcing MAJESTIC MAN (B Williamson ) wider on the track nearing the 1150 metres. After questioning drivers in regards to this driver C DeFilippi admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule with the JCA imposing a fine of $200.00.
SUNDEES SON - broke nearing the 200 metres when leading losing its chance.
B D SON - broke near the 1800 metres. Forced wider nearing the 1150 metres when racing to the outside of MAJESTIC MAN (B Williamson). Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule however after viewing the available films and speaking with drivers G Smith & B Williamson it was established that MAJESTIC MAN had commenced its outwards movement prior to B D SON reaching its sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary. The outside rein pricker became detached during the running.
RED HARBOUR - broke in the score up and was well out of position at dispatch.
MAJESTIC MAN - forced wider on the track nearing the 1150 metres when ONE OVER DA SKYE improved outwards. Broke shortly afterwards losing ground. When questioned in regards to this horse breaking driver B Williamson advised that the gelding was racing in an unpleasant manner at the time and although he had been forced wider on the track he did not portion this to the reason he had made a break.
 
Race 6 FERNSIDE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
REAL OBSESSION - driver R Close admitted using his whip excessively over the final 400 metres with the JCA suspending Mr Close's Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including the Timaru HRC meeting on 14 May 2017 (3 days).
BURNING RUBBER - hung inwards rounding the first bend. Hung inwards again exiting the final bend and through the final straight when weakening. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer B Hill advised he will have blood tests taken in the coming days and will report the results to Stewards.
BLUE CHIP LAD - broke in the score up after making contact with the barrier arm inconveniencing ANGEL OF HARLEM. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
ANGEL OF HARLEM - briefly inconvenienced in the score up by the breaking BLUE CHIP LAD.
PINE CONE - raced fiercely in the middle stages. Tired rounding the final bend.
STAR COMMANDER - hung outwards severely in the score up and through the early stages.
SPONDULICKS - inconvenienced in the score up and was slightly out of position at dispatch.

FLAMBOYANT - over-raced throughout. Held up rounding the final bend and hung inwards in the run home.
TOP BRASS - over-raced in the middle stages.
HES FAST AND FURIOUS - broke at the start.
MAGICAL MITCH - weakened over the final stages. When questioned in regards to the seemingly disappointing performance of MAGICAL MITCH driver S Ottley explained she was not overly disappointed with the effort despite the gelding performing well at recent workouts. She further advised that the gelding was having its first race for 5 months and is a non-winner racing against horses that have won previously. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities.
MIDFREW TARPEDIEM - raced keenly in the middle stages. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
BELLA JONES - held up throughout the run home.
 
Race 8 TERROR TO LOVE AT PINELEA FARM MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MIGHTY EMPIRE - held up by tiring runner on the final bend. Held up again through the early stages of the run home.
SELENA FRANCO - paced roughly over the concluding stages.
OUTTA SIGHT - weakened final bend.
PIRATE BAY - over-raced in the early stages.
BAILEYS KNIGHT - raced wide in the early stages. Hung outwards near the 1000 metres.
CHLOE - raced wide in the early and middle stages.
NIC MAC WILLY - hung inwards when under pressure rounding the final bend.
 
Race 9 LEITHFEILD TROT Video  Video 
MAGNAFIQUE - paced away before being checked into its correct gait. Trotted roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be driven out with any vigour.
WESTAR BELLA - raced keenly through the middle stages. Held up through the early stages of the run home.
REDWOOD INVASION - broke passing the 200 metres before settling and breaking again near the 50 metres.
BRITE N LOVELY - began awkwardly.
MAJESTIC MOMENT - reluctant to come up and take up its position and broke at the start losing its chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
ONE OVER DOVER - raced wide through the early stages. Broke nearing the 1800 metres, the 1300 metres and again with 500 metres to run losing its chance.

STERNS ARISING - broke at the start.
JONTY JAMES - broke at the start.
FRANCO TAI - broke at the start. Inclined to lay inwards through the early stages of the run home.
SMITHY - broke at the start. Raced wide through the early stages before reaching the lead near the 1700 metres. Hung outwards and gave ground in the run home locking wheels with BEVAN'S CULLEN forcing this runner up the track. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
BEVAN'S CULLEN - forced wider on the track in the run home and locked wheels after SMITHY shifted outwards under pressure.

BORN AGAIN DELIGHT - held up by tiring runner rounding the final bend.
NOVAK - restrained at the start.
GERALD - over-raced in the early stages. Tired rounding the final bend inconveniencing trailing runners.
ZULU COURAGE - held up by tiring runner rounding the final bend. Driver S Ottley advised that she did not activate the removable gear on this gelding after losing her chance when being held up.
CANNDEW - out of position at the start. Driver P Davis was warned to ensure that he remains in his position until dispatch.
REAL DASH - driver T Chmiel was cautioned to ensure his foot remains in the sulky footrest in future. Mr Chmiel also admitted using his whip excessively over the final 400 metres with the JCA suspending Mr Chmiel's Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including the Timaru HRC meeting on 14 May 2017 (3 days).
