Race 3 - DUNSTAN HORSE FEEDS MOBILE TROT

Clerk of the Course, Mr P. Clark, was examined by St Johns Ambulance staff after being dislodged from his horse when attempting to catch the driverless JUST ANYTHING. After consultation with the Club, Senior Horsemen and T. Macfarlane (North Island Horsemans' Association) it was decided to proceed without the Clerk of the Course being available for Race 4. Mr Clark was subsequently cleared of any injury and continued with his duties from Race 5 onwards.

Race 8 - 2017 CANAM ROWE CUP FFA TROT (STAND)
Trainer T Butt has advised Stewards that DARYL BOKO has recovered well since its disappointing performance in the Rowe Cup last Friday with Mr Butt being of the opinion that the gelding did not back up from its run the previous week. Mr Butt added that DARYL BOKO will run at Addington on 19 May and then be sent for a spell.
Race 11 - SIMS PACIFIC METALS MOBILE PACE
Trainer C Dalgety has advised Stewards that DONEGAL DAVY BOYD has recovered well and worked pleasingly since its disappointing performance at Alexandra Park last week. Mr Dalgety felt that the gelding had endured a tough run against tighter-assessed horses and will be better suited in its engagement this Friday.

Race 1 LINCOLN FARMS BLOODSTOCK MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
REKLAW'S GEM - broke late in the score up and was back approximately 4 lengths at dispatch. Broke again near the 1200 metres when being restrained off the back of CULPEKA, losing further ground. Broke inside the 300 metres losing all chance. Driver D.Dunn advised that the filly had resented being restrained when galloping on each occasion. The connections advised that the filly would be turned out for a spell.
BEST SHOT - paced roughly rounding the final bend.
 
Race 2 MAJESTIC HORSE FLOATS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
PRIME LUSTRE - weakened rounding the home bend impeding a trailing runner.
IDEALISTIC - impeded rounding the final bend by a tiring runner.
JAMM KISS - inclined to throw its head when being restrained in a three wide position passing the 2200 metres.
POPPY DRAYTON - inclined to lay out over the early and middle stages.
ZAKSPATROL - permission was given for the murphy blind to be removed prior to the start. Claimed by Mrs H. Williams.

MASS DESTRUCTION - checked and locked wheels shortly after start and was retired from the event.
MORE SHADES OF GOLD - over-raced middle stages.
JUST ANYTHING - broke at the start veering inwards, locking sulky wheels with MASS DESTRUCTION before falling to the track with Driver D. McGowan being dislodged from the sulky. The filly regained its feet and followed the field driverless until caught. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the filly had sustained various minor lacerations which required treatment. Mr McGowan was examined by St Johns Paramedics and cleared of any injury. A warning was placed on this filly's mobile barrier manners.
BILLY AT SALSA - An Information was lodged alleging that Trainer B. Purdon was in breach of Rule 865(2) when BILLY AT SALSA was presented with half hopples which were not notified. The breach was admitted and the J.C.A. imposed a $200 fine. Broke passing the 200 metres and failed to settle. A Protest was lodged against the gelding's 4th placing under Rule 870(3) on the grounds that it galloped in excess of 50 metres in the final 200 metres. The Protest was not contested by the connections and BILLY AT SALSA was disqualified from 4th placing.
PHOEBE GEM - inconvenienced by a galloping runner passing the 600 metres.
OUR PETITE LADY - raced three wide early.
A GLASS OF TANQUERAY - broke near the 600 metres after contacting the sulky wheel of MORE SHADES OF GOLD which had shifted ground outwards. When questioned regarding the incident Driver P. Ferguson advised that A GLASS OF TANQUERAY had contributed to the contact being made by over-racing and no further action was deemed necessary.

JOEMARO - held up until passing the 200 metres.
SHADOW PASS - held up until passing the 200 metres.
JAMIESON SHARD - raced three wide from the 1300 metres.
 
Race 5 REHARVEST TROTTING CUP TROT Video  Video 
BRO FAWKES S - lay in passing the 900 metres contacting track markers and dislodging a track marker which struck a trailing runner. Trotted roughly when under pressure over the final stages.
SHADY SADIE - broke at the start losing all chance.
BLOOD AND WHISKY - broke passing the 900 metres after being struck by a dislodged track marker losing all chance.
 
Race 6 PIPE AND INFRASTRUCTURE LTD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
DONEGAL DAVY BOYD - settled at the rear, improved wide without cover inside the 1000 metres to reach the one out one back position passing the 500 metres, weakened inside the final 300 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Trainer C. Dalgety advised that the gelding had raced lethargically this evening and he put it down to the gelding feeling the effects of racing three times in three weeks at Metropolitan level and it is his intention to spell the horse for a minimum of six weeks.
SHANOCON - held up rounding the final bend and over the early stages of the run home.
ALTA MACH - raced one out without cover in the middle stages and weakened inside the final 600 metres finishing well back. A post-race veterinary examination revealed signs of an upper respiratory infection. A veterinary certificate of fitness is required before it resumes.
 
Race 7 CULLEY'S HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
BAILEYS ROCK - slow to begin.
ON THE RANTAN - held up rounding the final bend and over the middle stages of the run home.
ALPHA ROCK - held up rounding the final bend, lay out throughout the run home giving Driver D. Dunn a difficult drive over the initial stages of the run home.
BETTORS POCKET - lay in and contacted pylons rounding the home bend.
MAXIM - Driver B Mangos advised he was pleased with the gelding's performance, that he began well from the 35 metres handicap mark, raced without cover the last mile, and that the handicap took its toll with him coming to the end of his run late in the race.
 
Race 8 CUSHIONRIDE HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
MADAM SPUR - broke approaching the 2400 metres and again passing the 800 metres losing its chance.
MOMENT OF TRUTH - inconvenienced by a galloping runner rounding the first bend.
THE ALMIGHTY JOHNSON - broke when prominent rounding the first bend with Driver A. Herlihy taking the gelding wider on the track regaining its gait toward the rear of the field. Held up over the early stages of the run home. The authorization of the payment of the 3rd placing was withheld until such time that it was confirmed that the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
DJOKOVIC - broke at the start settling quickly. Held up rounding the final bend, trotting roughly when shifting ground outward passing the 250 metres.
 
Race 9 HARAS des TROTTEURS NORTH ISLAND OAKS 3YO FILLIES TROT (MOB) Video  Video 
KISSMEIMLOADED - trotted greenly and inclined to lay in on the bends over the early stages.
ONE OVER DA STARS - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
BONNIE HIGHLANDER - lost the trailing position behind the leader when the pace increased inside the mile.
REGAL LOVE - broke passing the 300 metres.

IZINTHEZONE - held up rounding the final bend and over the early stages of the run home.
MAJESTIC GAL - broke approaching the 400 metres.
KING OF ROCK - broke under pressure late in the run home.
LOVELY BUNDY - contacted track markers passing the 300 metres.
GRENADO - broke passing the 300 metres.
