BREAK DANCE - over-raced in the early stages and had to be steadied near the 1800 metres when awkwardly positioned behind JO'S DREAM. | |
CULLEN WHO - crowded in the early stages by breaking runners and when shifting inwards made contact with the sulky wheel of ROCKNROLL PRINCESS causing the mare to race roughly for several strides. Weakened passing the 400 metres, lay inwards under pressure and contacted several track markers. When spoken to regarding the mare's performance Driver J. Dickie explained the mare had been unsuited to working in the middle stages to take up a forward position. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. | |

PUREST SILK - shifted inwards on the bend near the 1300 metres, crowding the racing room of THE SHOOTING STAR. Stewards spoke with Drivers B. Mangos and Z. Butcher regarding this incident and after considering their submissions issued Mr Mangos with a charge under Rule 869(4) alleging he had driven in a manner likely to cause interference. Mr Mangos admitted the breach with the JCA imposing a fine of $550. | |
ROSA BELLE - shifted outwards under pressure leaving the final bend, corrected soon after by Driver S. Abernethy which in turn caused the improving DONTSTOPBELIEVIN to be forced over track markers. | |
REKLAW'S GEM - broke in the score up losing its chance. | |
THE SHOOTING STAR - crowded on the bend near the 1300 metres contacting several track markers in consequence. | |

DARYL BOKO - when spoken to regarding the performance of the gelding Driver D.Butcher explained his runner had become agitated by the delayed start and disappointed him when asked for an effort over the final stages. Stewards will follow up with Trainer T. Butt in the upcoming days. | |

GREAT THINGS HAPPEN - cast a shoe in the preliminary causing a delay while this was refitted. Broke passing the 2150 metres when there was a slight easing of the pace in the two wide line. Driver G Smith reported to horse to have re-cast the plate at this stage which had caused some minor damage to the horse's hoof. He added it was now his intention to spell the gelding. | |

DONEGAL DAVY BOYD - blundered passing the 800 metres and had to be steadied. Weakened passing the 400 metres, hung inwards on the final bend contacting track markers. When spoken to regarding the horse's performance Driver D. Dunn explained the gelding had been uncomfortable in its action following the incident near the 800 metres. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with Trainer C. Dalgety in the coming days. | |
ZADAKA - hung inwards on the first bend when being taken forwards. Crowded on the final bend and had to be steadied. | |
VAMPIRO - raced keenly final bend when held up by the weakening DONEGAL DAVY BOYD. Stewards spoke with driver B Mangos regarding his shift outwards at this time. Mr Mangos advised he had made an initial attempt to clear the wheel of DONEGAL DAVY BOYD however then ceased his movement due to the improving ZADAKA becoming poorly positioned near his sulky. He added that his horse then over reacted and was not able to be shifted downwards to avoid tightening ZADAKA. After considering his explanation and reviewing the films no further action was taken. | |
