Race 4 - PINELEA FARM - STUNIN CULLEN MOBILE PACE
Trainer B Gray has informed Stewards that following its disappointing performance at Forbury Park last Thursday PAY ME JIMMY was found to be suffering from mud fever which has since been treated. Mr Gray added that it is his intention for the gelding to resume at Gore in early May.

Race 1 JUST ESSENCE CATERING TROT Video  Video 
LORD ROYDON - over-raced in the middle stages with Driver D Dunn electing to improve the gelding forward into a leading position near the 1450 metres. Veered inwards sharply passing the 200 metres and was not persevered with thereafter. When questioned regarding the performance Driver D Dunn explained that the gelding had been on one rein and had shown nothing when placed under pressure. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer M House advised would be scratched from its engagement at the NZMTC's meeting on 21/04/17 given the disappointing performance.
IMRAN KHAN - proved fractious prior to the start, being sent to the unruly position by the Starter as a consequence. A warning was placed against the gelding's standing start record. Trotted roughly over the final 1100 metres. Broke near the 450 metres.
PARADISE SPUR - broke near the 2200 metres.
PEGASUS TIME - trotted roughly and broke near the 100 metres.
KIWI CRUSHER - hung inwards on numerous occasions during the running. Weakened from the 400 metres.
TOPNOTCH TITAN - broke at the start.
 
Race 2 THE PARK FUNCTION & EVENT CENTRE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
RAKE - lay inwards under pressure near the 100 metres and had to be straightened.
MY NIKAYLA - held up for a distance passing the 400 metres. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
DAYS OF CHANGE - weakened from the 500 metres inconveniencing trailing runners.
HANNAH EXTREME - hung outwards and paced roughly during the score up. Lay outwards near the 700 metres when leading.
ROSTRIEVER VICTORY - raced wide in the early stages prior to being restrained to obtain cover near the 1800 metres. Inconvenienced from the 400 metres when trailing a weakening runner.
CAPTAIN MANNERING - commenced to over-race in the middle stages with Driver D Dunn electing to allow the gelding to improve forward near the 1100 metres.

HIGHVIEW JUSTICE - held up rounding the final bend until near the 250 metres.
SEFTON HOOLIGAN - the near-side front hopple carrier broke over the concluding stages with the colt breaking shortly after and continued to do so over the finishing line. A Protest was lodged pursuant to Rule 870(5) into the third placing being awarded to SEFTON HOOLIGAN in that it had been lapped on by the fourth placed DYING TO SEE YOU and fifth placed ESSENCE OF EASTON when in a break at this stage of the race. The protest was not contested by connections with the JCA subsequently relegating SEFTON HOOLIGAN from third to fifth placing.
DIOS DEL FUEGO - broke at the start, shifted outwards and made contact with DYING TO SEE YOU. Inconvenienced near the 700 metres when there was an easing of the pace.
RAINY RIVER - held up over the concluding stages.
DYING TO SEE YOU - broke at the start before being contacted by DIOS DEL FUEGO. Improved wide from the 1200 metres to race outside the leader.
ESSENCE OF EASTON - hung inwards on numerous occasions during the running.
HOLD ON ARIZONA - raced fiercely for a considerable distance passing the 800 metres. Held up over the final 100 metres.
 
Race 4 FORBURY PARK SPORTS BAR & BISTRO HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
PLAYBOY'S BROTHER - broke briefly approaching the winning post on the first occasion. Trotted roughly and broke near the 100 metres.
EXPLOSIVE STAR - trotted roughly near the 200 metres.
PRETORIUS - broke briefly passing the 1400 metres.
WHATASISTA - trotted roughly in the early stages. Held up throughout the home straight and was unable to be placed under any discernible pressure by Driver J Cox.
MR MAJESTIC - broke at the start and failed to settle for a considerable distance eventually being pulled up by its driver. Junior Driver M Anderson was cautioned to ensure he obeys a directive given by the Starter.
PYRAMID MAGIC - trotted roughly when being restrained to obtain cover near the 700 metres.
FATHER CHRISTMAS - inconvenienced briefly near the 700 metres when awkwardly positioned behind PYRAMID MAGIC.

TUBBY JIM - Driver J Cox advised that the gelding had dropped both knee boots during the running.
BOOMING JET - held up throughout the home straight.
CABALLO BLANCO - broke passing the winning post on the first occasion hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed against the mare's racing manners record.
FIRST SON - hampered entering the first bend when forced to shift wider on the track to avoid a breaking runner.
JUSTASIP - raced keenly for a distance passing the 800 metres.

KING KONE - Junior Driver G Crawford (with the assistance of her employer Mr G Knight) was charged with a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) the particulars being that she used her whip in an excessive manner over the final 400 metres, with the JCA adjourning the matter until the 30th April 2017 at the request of the defendant.
SHEZA TRENDY MONARCH - broke shortly after the start and continued to do so for a considerable distance losing its chance.
ARMORI - raced wide from the 1200 metres.
DENN NEE NOSE BEST - held up rounding the final bend.
MOKOSUN - broke at the start. Trotted roughly passing the 700 metres. Raced wide rounding the final bend before breaking near the 300 metres.
CUDDLY JESS - raced wide from the 1200 metres.
GORILLA PLAYBOY - raced wide from the 1200 metres.
 
Race 7 ROBINSON & BELL FOUNDRY & SCRAP METAL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
EL DINERO - inconvenienced near the 1700 metres when racing to the outside of AUDI HARE. After reviewing the films it was established that AUDI HARE had commenced its outward movement prior to EL DINERO reaching that runner's wheel therefore Stewards took the matter no further.
AUDI HARE - held up for a distance passing the 400 metres.
NEWMANS JET - hung inwards and struck several track markers entering the bend near the 900 metres.
ANSETT FLIGHT - raced wide in the early stages.
BALIUS - broke in the score up before regaining its correct position at dispatch. Held up rounding the final bend.
ASK ME ART - paced roughly in the early stages. Improved wide from the 700 metres. Paced roughly when placed under pressure in the home straight. Stewards questioned Driver D Dunn in relation to the tactics he adopted near the 1400 metres when electing to restrain the gelding inwards after commencing a three-wide move at an earlier stage in the event. Mr Dunn explained that he commenced to improve prior to the pace increasing and felt that he would be required to work hard to secure the position outside the leader so elected to restrain near the 1400 metres and shift back down to a one out position after NEWMANS JET had shifted down to the marker line. Mr Dunn's comments were noted.

SEDUCE ME - raced in restricted room near the 500 metres.
SANTANNA'S ROCKET - raced wide in the early stages. Lay inwards entering the bend near the 500 metres placing SEDUCE ME in restricted room. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with Trainer W Breen in the coming days.
ROYAL BENGAL - improved wide from the 1400 metres obtaining the parked position near the 800 metres.
LANIKAI - raced wide from the 1200 metres.
CULLER CODED - Trainer D Heffernan was issued a $25 colour fee.
GLENISTHEBETTOR - held up rounding the final bend until near the 200 metres.
 
Race 9 NEXT MEETING 11TH MAY CLAIMERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ALEXY - lay outwards throughout the home straight with the gelding proving reluctant to improve its position inside TAHLIA FRANCO near the 200 metres. Trainer/Driver D O'Connell advised that due to this he elected not to activate the removable deafeners.
TAHLIA FRANCO - claimed from the event.
JERRY FITZ - raced wide in the early stages until being improved forward to obtain the parked position near the 1500 metres.
THE PERSUADER - held up rounding the final bend.
VANHALEM - improved wide through the middle stages obtaining the parked position near the 1000 metres. Paced roughly when placed under pressure near the 300 metres.
