JUNKYARD MASE - underwent a post-race veterinary examination including an endoscopic examination after trainer/driver G O'Reilly reported the gelding had been making a noise during the running. This gelding has now been stood down pending a satisfactory dynamic scope. | |

BIRD OF PARADISE - when spoken to regarding the improved performance, trainer B Ward advised the mare had been racing without luck in her recent starts and had taken advantage of today's drop in class and an economical run. | |
AS KIWI AS - raced wide until near the 1300 metres. When questioned in regard to the length of time it took to restrain his horse to the rear of the field, Junior Driver R Cameron advised that he had suffered an injury to his arm in the early stages of the race which had heavily impaired his ability to steer and restrain his horse. Mr Cameron was examined by the on course paramedics and received treatment and was referred to his GP for further assessment. A medical clearance will be required prior to Mr Cameron resuming driving. | |
TAKE AFTER ME - held up in the early stages of the run home. The removable deafeners failed to activate on the gelding. Junior Driver A Stewart was advised that in future she was to advise Stewards at the earliest opportunity. | |
CRACKARED - when spoken to regarding the mare's performance, driver S Tomlinson reported the horse had travelled lethargically throughout and had disappointed her with its efforts over the final stages. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer B Hill advised he will have blood tests taken in the coming days and will report any findings to Stewards. | |

HIGHLAND REIGN - broke at the start and shifted outwards abruptly making heavy contact with the sulky of CLASINA MARIA checking that runner. The connections were advised that the mare had been stood down from all standing starts until one satisfactory trial from a stand could be completed. | |
CLASINA MARIA - broke at the start before being heavily checked by HIGHLAND REIGN with driver J Young being dislodged causing the mare to be retired from the event. Miss Young was checked by St John personnel and cleared to fulfill her remaining driving engagement. | |
