Race 11 - ROTORUA EAST CLUB JUNIOR DRIVERS MARES MOBILE PACE
The JCA re-opened a hearing into an information alleging Junior Driver J Wallace used his whip excessively driving LOLA JONES over the final stages of the race. The charge under 869(2)(a) was admitted and the JCA imposed a fine of $250.00.

TE KOUKA SUCCESS - broke at the start. Broke passing the 1400 metres losing ground.
BILLY AT SALSA - broke at the start. Broke passing the 1300 metres losing considerable ground.
ANZAC - broke passing the 300 metres.
ONE BID BUYS - inclined to lay out badly over the early stages.
SPLASH THE MONKEY - trotted unevenly in the score up.
THE REV - out of position at the start by two lengths and broke passing the 350 metres losing ground.
I'M JUST AWESOME - became unbalanced and broke shortly after the start when taking evasive action around a galloping runner.

BEACON HILL - centre hopple carrier strap came adrift passing the 2100 metres. Stewards inspected the gear and found the trainer not to be at fault. The gelding weakened quickly from inside the 300 metres.
BOURBON STREET - a length out of position at the start. Driver S. Abernethy advised that the mobile gate speed appeared to be quicker than normal.
WILL DESIRE - two lengths out of position at the start. Driver M. McKendry advised that he had difficulty maintaining his barrier position in the score up and that the gelding had lost contact with the field over the early stages of the race.
PRIME LUSTRE - no claims were lodged.
DOUBLE TWIST - Driver B. Mangos dropped his whip inside the last 50 metres.
MASTER GEORGE - over-raced middle stages.
JUDE'S GEM - briefly contested a position passing the 2500 metres. Became unbalanced shortly after and broke. Driver J. Abernethy advised the filly had brushed a knee causing it to become unbalanced. A warning was placed on its racing manners record. A post-race veterinary examination revealed mild post-race distress which required treatment.
Starter F. Phelan was spoken to advisedly in regard to the quick speed of the gate prior to the dispatch point.

ROI DES GITANS - held up rounding the final bend and over the early stages of the run home.
GINGER BERTHA - impeded by tiring runner rounding the final bend.
LUNDQVIST - over-raced and broke passing the 900 metres.
ACOUGARZSUN - after leading, weakened quickly rounding the final bend.
MAJESTIC GAL - impeded by a tiring runner rounding the final bend and then checked from behind approaching the 300 metres when the trailing runner's foreleg became entangled with the sulky resulting in the gelding being immediately pulled up.
ANGUS BURGA - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Checked and took evasive action shifting to the inside of the running line approaching the 300 metres.
GRENADO - checked and broke approaching the 300 metres losing its chance.
BAREFOOT BARBIE - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
MAKAREWA JAKE - over-raced throughout the journey. Following an easing of the pace, contacted the wheel of the sulky of the trailing runner approaching the 300 metres, resulting in it becoming entangled in its sulky and being pulled up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a bruising to the near fore and an injured heel bulb which required treatment. The gelding was subsequently stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
COOL SON - broke at the start losing ground. Checked and broke passing the 900 metres after there was an easing of the pace.
MR GOOD AND EVIL - broke for a few strides at the start and was slow away. Raced three wide from inside the 1050 metres.

BEYOND THE SILENCE - held up rounding the final bend.
LEWY RISK - raced erratically, briefly going inside the marker line, passing the 1600 metres. Held up over the early stages of the run home.
ROBBIE BURNS - paced unevenly rounding the final bend.

BIG MACH - paced roughly passing the 900 metres.
RHYTHM N BLUES - caught three wide for the first 800 metres before being eased to the rear.
LAMBROS - held up throughout the run home.

There was a two minute delay to the start at the request of Race Day Control.
BETTOR JOY - broke racing into the first bend. Raced four and five wide from inside the 800 metres. A warning was placed on this filly's racing manners record. Junior Driver N. Purdon advised that the filly got its head around, paced roughly and broke when racing into the first bend.
THE SHOOTING STAR - broke racing into the first bend when attempting to improve to the lead, settling quickly.
ROSA BELLE - Trainer D. Gale was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 for presenting the filly with an incorrect saddle cloth number.
REKLAW'S GEM - raced three wide from the 1300 metres.
SPANDAU BALLET - An investigation established that Driver Z. Butcher had commenced to improve to a three wide position passing the 1150 metres prior to NEW YORK RAIN improving to its outside and, therefore, was not in breach of the Push Out Rule.
EXCELLENT - Trainer N. Williamson was charged a colour fee of $25.00.
ALTA SHANGRI LA - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend losing ground.
SHEER BLISS - broke racing into the first bend after Driver B. Mangos restrained away from galloping runners.
NEW YORK RAIN - raced four wide briefly when passing the 1150 metres before being improved forward to obtain a position three wide with cover.

PRINCESS MACKENDON - held up rounding the final turn and over the early stages of the run home.
MOMENT OF TRUTH - no claims lodged. Held up over the early stages of the run home.
MAJESTIC ALI - held up rounding the final bend.
VALMAGNE - held up until inside the final 100 metres.
COMMANDER PARIS - broke passing the 2300 metres, galloping for a considerable distance.
KING OF THE ROSES - broke passing the 1500 metres, 500 metres and 300 metres.
REALMEIN - improved three wide from inside the 1800 metres before reaching a position outside the leader approaching the 800 metres.
MONNAY - broke passing the 250 metres.

OPOUTAMA - held up over the early and middle stages of the run home, receiving clear running room inside the last 70 metres.

GOTTA KEEPASECRET - lay in badly near the 900 metres. Weakened final stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
RUNCLE - Driver L. Hollis admitted a charge under Rule 869(2)(a) in that he used his whip excessively over the final stages. The JCA imposed a fine of $350.00.

THREE KISSES - Driver L. Hollis advised that the filly had been on one rein from the 600 metres which had placed him at a disadvantage. He further advised that corrective gear changes would be made prior to resuming.
EMIRA - lay out after the start and then broke losing all chance. A warning was placed on this filly's mobile barrier manners.
ART WORK - paced roughly and then broke entering the first turn after pulling a shoe losing all chance.
