Race 5 - HIGHVIEW TOMMY AT WOODLANDS PACE
Trainer P Bagrie has advised Stewards that veterinary examinations and xrays taken from THE DIRECTOR following its late scratching at Addington on 23 February have revealed that the gelding was suffering from a severe hematoma and not a fracture as initially suspected. Mr Bagrie further advised that THE DIRECTOR has recovered well and resumed light work this week.

Race 5 - CHRISTIAN CULLEN HANDICAP PACE
Stable representative J Dunn has advised Stewards that STAR FANTASY has shown no ill-effects from its performance at Addington last Friday stating that the horse was forced to do too much work during the running. Mr Dunn added that the gelding has worked well this week in preparation for a resumption at Addington next week.
Race 7 - CLARKSON SIGNS - VEHICLE SIGNAGE MOBILE PACE
Trainer N McGrath has advised Stewards that following its disappointing performance at Addington last Friday CLEAVER GREEN has been found to be suffering from a respiratory complaint which is now being treated.
Stable representative K Butt has advised Stewards that THE BACHELOR had bloods taken following its performance at Addington last week with these proving to be clear of any abnormality. Miss Butt added that the gelding has since run 2nd at the Rangiora workouts midweek.

Trainer G Dunn has advised Stewards that following her disappointing run at Addington on Sunday ROZHA was found to be in season with Mr Dunn adding that the filly has been sent for a spell for a month.

Race 1 MOTELS OF WESTPORT PACE Video  Video 
TERRIER - held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight. Driver R Close reported that only one sliding blind activated.
BENZ BUY - began awkwardly.
LULU ROSE - broke at the start.
SHADOWMAN - broke at the start.
RAINY RIVER - broke at the start.
KARANGA SWEET P - broke at the start and shifted inwards locking wheels with MORGY UNDER FIRE losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on its barrier record.
SUPREME BANNER - paced roughly near the 600 metres when improving three wide.
THE COUP DE GRACE - tired from the 500 metres.
OLDE OAK EMMA - Trainer J Reedy was fined $100.00 for presenting the filly to race without the notified removable deafeners.
MORGY UNDER FIRE - locked wheels with KARANGA SWEET P in the early stages losing considerable ground. Weakened from the 400 metres.
 
Race 2 RAY WHITE REAL ESTATE HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
LOUISLETZFLY - reared and fell when addressing the barrier when doing so made heavy contact with the driver of REIGN ON ME. Examined by the Vet and was cleared to start. Sent to the unruly position by the Starter where it will remain for its future racing. Over-raced passing the 1800 metres and made contact with BRITE N LOVELY. Raced keenly and become awkwardly placed to the inside of BRITE N LOVELY nearing the 1900 metres having to be steadied. Broke near the 300 metres.
REIGN ON ME - Driver K Townley was examined by St John Paramedics and cleared to drive after being struck on the head by the rearing LOUISLETZFLY. Broke at the start hampering the trailing runner. Held up in the early and middle stages of the home straight. Authorisation of third placing being awarded to this filly was withheld until such time Stewards could confirm that it had not breached the Breaking Horse Regulations over the early stages. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of Trainer K Townley.
TEHORO NOVA - hampered shortly after the start. Broke near the 1600 metres.
LITTLE MISS - inconvenienced shortly after the start. Broke shortly after failing to settle and losing its chance.
MAJESTIC MOMENT - broke near the 900 metres when negotiating the crossing.
BRITE N LOVELY - shifted in abruptly as the start was effected inconveniencing inside runners.
SCARLET BROMAC - broke shortly after the start.
WESTAR BELLA - driver R May reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
 
Race 3 TRT BUILDERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MIRANDA CULLEN - broke in the score up with a false start being declared. Driver S Ottley elected to start from the unruly position for the restart where this mare will stay for its future mobile racing. Was well out of position at dispatch.
KING SIZE - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier record.
BERAGIO - broke near the 1200 metres checking the trailing LETS ROCK N ROLL. A warning was paced against its racing record.
SHARDAN SUZIE - paced roughly shortly after the start racing wide in the early stages. Gave ground from the 800 metres. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Was placed on the unruly for its future mobile racing at the request of Trainer C McDowell.
VELOCETTE - hung inwards negotiating the final bend when under pressure.
IDEALAGAIN - driver R May advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MOTU BETTOR BE QUICK - broke in the score up at the first attempt. Broke near the 1050 metres.
LETS ROCK N ROLL - Trainer J Hay was fined $100.00 for presenting the gelding with the incorrect number.
TOM RULE - Trainer J Reedy was fined $100.00 for presenting the gelding with the incorrect number. Weakened from the 400 metres.
 
Race 4 COSMOPOLITAN HOTEL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SCOOB OPERATOR - broke briefly when negotiating the course crossing. Held up for clear racing room until late in the home straight.
MADIBA - was out of position at dispatch despite the efforts of Driver D Morrison. Broke near the 250 metres.
CHEROKEE RED - Trainer/Driver M Pash reported that one sliding blind had activated in the score up. He added that he was unable to activate the other sliding blind due to the cord becoming entangled.
GOT A BEAUTY - paced roughly exiting the final bend and through the early stages of the run home.
FRANCO TALLIS - broke racing into the first bend. Gave ground on the final bend.
FOURPENNY ONE - broke near the 2100 metres when checked by PALEFACE SIOUX. Weakened from the 600 metres.
ROCKON STYX - broke in the score up and was out of position by a distance at dispatch and failed to take any part in the race. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the mare. The connections advised that they would be making gear changes.
PALEFACE SIOUX - broke negotiating the course crossing and shifted outwards locking wheels with FOURPENNY ONE checking this runner into a break. A warning was placed on its racing record.
MOTU TINKERBELL - raced greenly negotiating the first bend.
 
Race 5 FARMLANDS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
DON PIERRE - paced roughly through the early stages. Over-raced in the parked position throughout the middle stages. Gave ground on the final bend.
FORGOTTEN HIGHWAY - boring pole was removed prior to the start.
SHE'SA TRICKY BRIDGE - raced rough after negotiating the course crossing on the first occasion.
GARRY'S LEGACY - was obliged to race wider on the track nearing the 2200 metres when eased outwards by FORGOTTEN HIGHWAY. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the push out rule however it was established that FORGOTTEN HIGHWAY had commenced its outward movement prior to GARRY'S LEGACY reaching its sulky wheel with no further action deemed necessary.
SHELLY ANN - held up by tiring runner final bend.
SHANTAHLIA ROMEO - out of position at the start despite the urging of Driver S Ottley.
 
Race 6 BULLER REFRIGERATION & ELECTRICAL PACE Video  Video 
JULIA LADY - was slow through the early stages.
HESA DAZZLER - was slow through the early stages.
TAKE AFTER ME - Driver P Borcoskie advised that he dropped his whip near the 400 metres.
BRIDGET BLUE CHIP - the required Veterinary clearance was received.
DANA DAWN - raced wide in the early stages.
GAME CHANGER - failed to go away with the field losing a considerable amount of ground.
KOTARE MIST - breached the barrier strand obliging a false start to be declared. A warning was placed on its barrier manners.
PERFECT CIRCLE - hung inwards when negotiating the final bend and paced roughly.
ALANTIC - broke near the 1200 metres when being restrained due to an easing of the pace. Broke again near the 900 metres after negotiating the crossing. Due to this horse's recent racing conduct it was stood down pending one satisfactory trial.
 
Race 7 F T DOOLEY LTD CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS KAWATIRI CUP (HANDICAP) Video  Video 
CAESAR'S QUEST - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Was held up rounding the final bend. Paced roughly through the early stages of the run home.
EXTRA GUINNESS - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on its barrier record.
FRANCO TRISTAN - Driver C Thornley advised Stewards he elected not to improve wide onto the back of LETTING GO rounding the bend due to this mare being under significant pressure with this resulting in the gelding being held up rounding the final bend and through the early and middle stages of the run home.
BEVAN'S CULLEN - was slow through the early stages. Hung inwards and paced roughly near the 1100 metres when improving three wide.
 
Race 8 CRITERION HOTEL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
PAUL'S VERDICT - broke in score up however was in position at the start.
HES FAST AND FURIOUS - raced wide early stages. Driver K Gill advised that the gelding had raced keenly and had been striking its knee.
NOVAK - over-raced in the middle stages when in the parked position.
ENGLISH ROSE - broke after 200 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on its race record. The filly was treated post race for a minor graze to its inside left quarter.
THE HURRICANE - the Vet Clearance required to resume racing was received.
 
Race 9 WESTPORT NEW WORLD HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
LIKELY JEREME - broke briefly when negotiating the first bend. Held up by tiring runner from the 800 metres.
INDIE - held up behind tiring runner from the 800 metres.
EASTWOOD CHIEFTAIN - Trainers G & N Hope were fined $100 for presenting the gelding to race without the notified blinds. Gave ground from the 800 metres hampering trailing runners. Post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have recovered with no obvious abnormalities. Co-Trainer G Hope advised that the gelding may be better driven with a sit.
ALSA LUSTRE - Driver R Close advised that he found the mare difficult to steer throughout the running resulting in him making contact with several track markers. Mr Close further advised that the mare would race at the Reefton Trotting Club Meeting on Sunday before being retired to stud.
JONTY JAMES - broke briefly at the start. Improved to lead nearing the 1500 metres. Weakened considerably from the 600 metres. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have recovered without any obvious abnormalities.

TEHORO DAZZLE - broke near the 2100 metres when negotiating the crossing.
DAIQUIRI - broke racing into the first bend. Broke again near the 300 metres.
CLIFDEN CLOWERS - paced racing into the first bend before being broken up by Driver B Weaver.
SARAH PALIN - checked negotiating first bend. Over-raced in the middle stages.
GIN RUMMY - was held during the early stages of the run home.
ARDITI - broke in the early stages. Was pulled up at the top of the straight and was humanely euthanised after sustaining an irreparable shoulder injury.
THE PRINCE - Driver R Close was cautioned to ensure his whip stays within the confines of the sulky in the future.
