Trainer N Williamson has advised Stewards that STATHAM has been diagnosed with a lung infection and has been sent for a spell.

Race 6 - DANNY CRENGLE SHEARING/TRANSPORT ENGINEERING PACE
Trainer N Williamson has informed Stewards that FOO FIGHTER has been subjected to blood tests and a scope following its disappointing effort at Wyndham last weekend with these proving clear of abnormalities. He did state that the gelding scoured following the race which may have explained the performance. Mr Williamson further advised that FOO FIGHTER had worked very well this week and he was confident of a forward showing at Ascot Park on Saturday.

Race 1 JUST ESSENCE CATERING TROT Video  Video 
PARADISE SPUR - Hung inwards rounding the final bend placing another runner in restricted room. Driver B Orange reported that the mare had trotted roughly throughout the final straight and consequently did not activate the removable deafeners.
MAJESTIC PEAK - Broke at the start and again on numerous occasions throughout the running. Trainer B Norman advised that he would no longer be persevering with the gelding as a racing proposition from his stable.
AVEROSS DON - Driver D Dunn advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MADABOY - Broke at the start.
ZSA ZIVA - Placed in restricted room rounding the final bend striking several track markers.
PURE EMOTION - Broke rounding the first bend. Broke passing the 800 metres.
SHEEZAMONARCHY - Broke on the bend near the 1900 metres. Trotted roughly and broke passing the 400 metres.
SPECIAL PAT - Inconvenienced entering the first bend when having to shift outwards to avoid a breaking runner. Broke near the 1700 metres.
WHATASISTA - Trotted roughly over the final 200 metres with Driver M Williamson advising that he was unable to place the mare under any significant pressure due to this and did not activate the removable deafeners.

CLOCKWORK ORANGE - Hung outwards rounding the final bend.
RESOUNDING - Raced wide in the early stages.
BULLYS PRINCESS - Weakened over the final stages.
NICKY ANEW - Broke during the score up and was out of position at dispatch with a warning being placed against the mobile barrier record of the mare. Broke again racing into the first bend losing its chance. Trainer C Morrison advised that it would be his intention to freshen the mare and return it to the workouts prior to resuming.
LIVING GLORY - Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the middle stages of the home straight.
NEWMANS JET - Over-raced in the middle stages. Held up rounding the final bend and throughout the home straight.
SCOTLYNN MADE - Held up passing the 400 metres.
TAKEMETOTHEBEACH - Improved wide through the middle stages, then commenced to over-race when being restrained near the 1100 metres.
JUST WISH - Raced four wide from the 650 metres. Lay inwards throughout the run home.
DELIGHTFUL JAY - Raced wide in the early and middle stages before being taken forward to race outside the leader near the 900 metres.
 
Race 3 PALAMOUNTAINS PACE Video  Video 
BETTOR IN BLACK - Slow to begin. Broke near the 1650 metres and again on numerous occasions throughout the running. Trainer R Jenkins advised that it would be his intention to return the gelding to the trials for experience purposes prior to resuming.
SILVER DALE - Hung outwards throughout the home straight having to be straightened over the concluding stages.
SOUNDS LIKA GEM - Broke at the start losing considerable ground.
AWAYOVERNIGHT - Broke at the start losing considerable ground. The connections advised that they would restrict the colt to mobile events for its future racing engagements.
COOKY - Broke at the start losing its chance.
GO GETTA - Broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Hung inwards through the early and middle stages. Driver D Dunn reported that the gelding had hung throughout the event.
TILLY PATRON - Broke at the start losing its chance and was retired from the event.
 
Race 4 HOTEL ST CLAIR MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
TAKE A GAMBLE - Out of position at dispatch despite the efforts of Driver R Jenkins.
ROSTRIEVER VICTORY - Commenced to weaken from the 400 metres and struck pylons on the home bend.
BLUE CHIP LADY - Gave ground near the 700 metres after racing in the parked position throughout. When questioned regarding the performance Driver D Dunn could offer no tangible explanation with a subsequent Veterinary examination revealing no obvious abnormalities detected.
RAISING HOPE - Hung inwards and paced roughly near the 700 metres.
SOUTHERN LIGHTS - Raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer P Hunter advised that he was not overly disappointed with the gelding's effort at its most recent start at Gore when not receiving all favours on that occasion. Mr Hunter added that the gelding had worked well in preparation for today's event and he had made a significant gear change which in his opinion, had benefited the gelding.
SEFTON HOOLIGAN - Raced roughly in the early stages. Over-raced in the early stages when racing wider on the track. Hung inwards passing the 1200 metres having to be steadied. Continued to hang inwards and race wide for the remainder of the event. Driver T Quate advised that the removable deafeners applied on the colt had inadvertently released in the early stages of the event placing him at a disadvantage.
FRANCO RIOT - Held up through the early stages of the home straight until near the 150 metres.
FLYINGMASTERWILLIAMS - Hung inwards entering the bend near the 500 metres. Hung inwards throughout the home straight having to be straightened.
BLAZER S - Held up rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance Junior Driver R McIlwrick expressed disappointment with the gelding's effort and could offer no tangible explanation. Stewards will follow up the recovery with Trainer O Lawrence in the coming days.
RAKE - Held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
Trainer O Lawrence has advised Stewards that BLAZER S has recovered well from a tough run at Forbury last Thursday adding that the gelding has worked well this week in preparation for an engagement at Ascot Park this weekend.
 
Race 5 DOWNIE STEWART LAWYERS TROT Video  Video 
EVANDER D GO - Paced and then broke entering the first bend checking several trailing runners.
MISSIE CASTLETON - Broke at the start losing its chance and was retired from the event.
MADISON JANE - Held up on the final bend and over the concluding 100 metres.
CHEEKY PAT - Checked entering the first bend.
SCARLETT LANE - Checked entering the first bend.
BOBBINS - Stood on the mark and refused to move away with the field and was retired from the event. The connections were advised the mare was stood down pending a satisfactory standing start trial.
PYRAMID MUSTANG - Checked approaching the first bend. Stewards spoke with Junior Driver M Hurrell with the assistance of Senior Driver N Williamson regarding the manner in which he drove at this stage of the event and was advised to exercise greater judgement when in similar circumstances in future. Checked entering the first bend and broke failing to settle losing considerable ground. Removed from the unruly for future standing starts.
 
Race 6 ALAN NICHOLLS & DAVE ABERNETHY SYNDICATE PACE Video  Video 
FASTROUNDTOWN - Weakened from the 400 metres.
GLENFERRIE DUSTER - Broke at the start.
FIRST SON - Began awkwardly and broke as the start was effected.
EL DINERO - Reared as the start was effected and lost ground. A warning was placed on the standing start record of the gelding. Driver C Ferguson advised that he would be recommending to connections that the gelding be restricted to mobile barrier events for its future engagements.
MICKEY JAY - improved wide from the 700 metres. Broke when being eased wider on the track near the 300 metres.
JIMMY NGA - Broke at the start.
OUR QUINN - Broke at the start. Raced three wide for a distance passing the 1250 metres. Stewards questioned Driver B Orange regarding this who advised that he had intentionally shifted into a three wide line in an attempt to improve his position and had not been pushed out by the improving GLENFERRIE DUSTER. After reviewing films Stewards took the matter no further.
 
Race 7 PAASHA TURKISH CAFE DUNEDIN MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
FRANCO SAXON - Held up on the final bend and through the early stages of the home straight.
FRANCO TMICK - Got its head up when being restrained approaching the first bend.
JUSTASIP - Held up in the home straight. Driver B Williamson was cautioned to ensure that his whip does not project outside the confines of his sulky.
GANGNAM STYLE - Hung inwards on the final bend contacting track markers. When spoken to regarding the gelding's performance Trainer/Driver N Williamson advised in his opinion the gelding had been unsuited to being taken on in the middle stages adding that it would be his intention to freshen the horse prior to resuming.
LINTON SHARD - Raced wide in the early stages.
SCOTTY'S IMAGE - Held up and unable to gain clear racing room in the final straight.
MY RONA GOLD - Over-raced in the early stages. Lay inwards under pressure throughout the home straight.
 
Race 8 CROMBIE LOCKWOOD HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
BOURBON AND DRY - Broke at the start and lost considerable ground.
MOKOSUN - Broke at the start and lost its chance.
PRESTINE - Raced keenly through the middle stages. Broke passing the 300 metres.
MR MAJESTIC - Weakened near the 400 metres.
BEAR'S REST - Trotted roughly over the final stages.

QUICK NICK - Raced ungenerously when being restrained approaching the first bend. Broke briefly near the 100 metres when being steadied to avoid the weakening BUSCEMI.
BUSCEMI - Raced wide in the early stages.
BAKARI - Hung inwards throughout and over-raced in the middle stages.
CHIEF KAPAI - Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout despite the efforts of Driver K Butt to take up a more forwards position with her gelding unable to wrest the parked position from the over-racing BAKARI. Weakened from the 600 metres.
MAGICOL DELIGHT - Held up in the early stages of the home straight. When questioned regarding the performance Driver B Orange advised the gelding had hung during the event however was not overly disappointed with its effort over the concluding stages.

ELUSIVE FLIGHT - Broke in the score up losing considerable ground with a warning being placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver M Williamson advised that he would be recommending to connections that an alteration in the gelding's hopple length be applied.
JERRY FITZ - Stewards acceded to the request made by Co-Trainer Mr G Knight with regard to the late alteration of N Chilcott as the declared driver for the gelding.
MILEHIGH MAGIC - Over-raced in the middle stages.
EXPRESSO MARTINI - Underwent a pre race Veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
