Held up in the early and middle stages of the run home when attempting a run to the inside of BETTERTHANSPRAYING which failed to present. When in restricted room the filly contacted several track markers. Stewards spoke with T Williams regarding the manner he drove in the early stages of the run home when shifting inwards at the start of the passing lane instead of taking his filly wider to obtain clear running. Mr Williams explained he had become positioned to the inside of BETTERTHANSPRAYING prior to the passing lane and felt that as that filly had shifted wider on the final bend she would continue to do so throughout the straight which did not eventuate. He added that runner had then shifted inwards to make use of the passing lane leaving him poorly positioned for some distance when unable to suitably restrain.
